  1. My wife and I use Sprint and my service has been frustrating at the park. There are times I go it alone and (try to) send her pictures and texts and it seems like it won't work at all.
  2. This thread entertains me.
  3. I feel like Flight Deck will give more rides next year than it has in a long time. I'm sure people will either bypass Banshee when the line is long or "discover" the coaster back in the corner. That narrow area of AZ will probably be a zoo next year.
  4. I was impressed with Surf Dog when I finally got to ride it this year. I've never done it before because I haven't had a season pass in years and/or my kids were too small. I guess technically I still could have gotten in line but then I'd have felt like that weird guy in kiddie land with no kids...
  5. I would develop a sound business model that is conservative and profitable then stick to it.
  6. Most of the general public doesn't visit the park multiple times a year, and even if they do people are oblivious and unaware of their surroundings. To contribute something worthwhile to the thread I'll tell a story about earlier this week. A co-worker and I were talking about what came to be known as Banshee and he eventually asked me "have you been to Six Flags?". I didn't know how to answer at first and I suggested that there are more than one park with that name. He insisted that it was only Six Flags and started talking about Goliath, which narrowed the choices down considerably. I took a gamble and fired off "Magic Mountain?". Still insisting that the parks name was only Six Flags he told me about many rides he tried there. I opened RCDB on my phone and explained that Six Flags wasn't only one location but a chain.

I imagine the ride will be very bright at night on the side near the entrance and dark on the back side. I feel certain the park will want to draw all attention to it's brand new 25 million dollar toy.
  8. I really want to take a day to go down once they reopen.

After having a couple days to let the announcement sink in I have to say I believe this ride will be fantastic. I'm most excited that there is no MCBR. I love how it will maintain a fast pace the entire ride and incorporate terrain into the experience. I think the elements are well placed and the pacing of them will be very exciting. The Bat wing looks phenomenal. I think the color scheme is well done. The unconventional coloring will stand out from quite a distance. The only things I'm questioning at this point are the restraints and the theming. I've read that those style restraints can be very uncomfortable and it's easy to over emphasise cool tomb stones, trees, and fog in a rendering. I will be ecstatic if we get tombstones, fog, and an incredible station. The reality is that it will probably won't look exactly like the video. I hope CF proves me wrong.
  10. I thought really hard about taking a day off today for the announcement but after nearly reaching a mental deadlock I decided to roll over the vacation day I would have used to 2014 so I can spend a day riding. I'll probably go poop at 10:30 or so. I'm sure it will be all over every outlet I frequent by then.
  11. Crocodiles, but I'm nitpicking.

I've been given a receipt every time but I've only been told I need it for re entry a couple times.
  13. I've been busy for a few days and mostly lurking, liking posts, and most of all laughing my rear end off. I'm really going to miss this thread once its gone because it has been my entertainment for the last few weeks. In reference to recent developments and to keep this somewhat on topic, I've come to terms with KI getting a refined, nearly end of production BM inverted coaster. If it is anything other than that I will honestly be somewhat disappointed. Montu is incredible and if this ride trumps that experience it will be great for KI, enthusiasts, and the general public.
  14. Do we have an angle to overlay the blueprints onto the current footer placement?
  15. No way. I'd rather risk losing my Ray Ban aviators on any ride before I'd ever wear a fanny pack and keep them safe.
  16. I see what you're saying sir. I just don't think the construction managers would try and rush things just to sell the hype. I would figure they would continue on their schedule to make sure the project is done right. I'm not an expert though, and could be completely wrong on that! I'm also not saying they will rush. The first of the footers have had plenty of time to cure and there is track spotted at CSF. I'm not saying it's going to happen but it would certainly be exciting.
  17. The park will continue following its own construction schedule, regardless of the general public's expectations. Would it be nice? Heck yes, but if this is a large project, it may still be a while before we see any vertical construction. It has absolutely nothing to do with the public's expectations. It has to do with hype and marketing, aka selling passes for 2014 and making money.
  18. Since the hype train includes the general public now, will we see vertical construction before the announcement? It seems like the park should want this thing to snowball from here forward.

I'm conflicted here. For pure thrills and ride experience Intamin flat out delivers. My favorite steel coaster is Millennium Force and it's still incredible especially considering it's not a baby anymore. I am always thinking in the back of my mind about their reliability as I get in line though. I've never ridden a B&M that I hate. Kumba is definitely not forceless. I enjoyed the heck out of Montu. I haven't found a seat on Diamondback yet that I can complain about. I know that these rides eat people and I'll never be waiting terribly long. I guess I just enjoy coasters and can't be a snob.
  20. I bet whatever is new is like post cards or something.
  21. I've heard that CSF is so close to the park that track comes through the woods instead of on the highway.
  22. The way I see it the park is succeeding in getting us all caught up in anticipation like when most of us were little kids waiting on Santa Claus.
  23. I turned mine off.
  24. I would be OK with it staying, it just seems like everything except roller coasters and cornerstone buildings get makeovers every so often. By make over I mean more than paint.
  25. Thank you
