Decoding 2020
While the only Winged Coaster I’ve ridden is Thunderbird, I would say it’s very fun, just wish it were a little longer.

I would imagine storage sheds still have friction wheels and or holding brakes for the trains.

Ideas for the Crypt building?
What if we build a Giant Top Spin in the building. Lol. Surely after the first one HUSS was able to come up with some design changes to help it out. We already have the show building and foundation. so it’d probably cost 7 million (based on Delirium’s 5 million price tag). Had any park gotten rid of a ride for mechanical reasons and later had it replaced with a newer better model? (I know this would never happen. Would just be nice to get to relive all the effects again.

Kings Island 2019 Discussion
I’d want to keep it named Invertigo for the simple fact Stinger was associated with frequent downtime and strandings. Sometimes names of troubled rides should stay dead

^ yes that are differentiated by the fact that one is in the 200ft range and one is in the 300ft range. I’m looking for a park that has 2 of the same make, model, and manufacturer that are both in the 200ft range.

^ For like half a season... what’s different at these other parks with multiple hypers are that they’re from completely different manufacturers. Find me a park with 2 Hyper coasters that are the same model and manufacturer. That’s what would make Kings Islands an odd choice if that were to happen

Maybe the lift hill can be as steep as Valravn’s? 48 degrees I think?

This was the year Kentucky Kingdom had “6 new rides” (2015) very loose on the term new. 1. Cyclos 2. Up Up and Away 3. T3 opening 4. Enterprise reopening 5. Skycatcher 6. New 5D movie? The last one may be wrong but I remember thinking “um only a few of these are actually new”
-
Decoding 2020
This is true. Although only a few people were aware of the EXACT specifications of the “Kingdom 6” back in the day. The rides managers gossiped about it to the supervisors who then gossiped it to the leads. I knew the types of rides that were coming out of that scenario, just not the exact models.

Disappointed by ride advertisement?
FoF maybe I agree. Tomb Raider? Fog, Fountains, Hollywood level special effects? I’m not talking in it’s crypt days I’m talking back in the day, sliding tomb door and all. That ride was in a league of its own for seasonal theme parks.

International street makeover
It was definitely hard to ride that year. There is actually a video of that cycle. It’s a bit hard to see but when the gondola gets under the light you can definitely see “oh crap that is forceful” The 2008 cycle

I haven’t seen Fury in person, but that photo the track is still elevated off the ground... edit: what I am saying is the height is 325 but the drop is 320. If there is a 30ft elevation change we would only be using about 25 of that. I don’t see it possible to go any farther without digging.

Decoding 2020
That also assumes the track goes all the way to the ground though, which is rarely the case.

Disappointed by ride advertisement?
So I realize this post is old, but to say Kings Island has never built any ride with great effects, do you mean as in high quality or highly themed? Because although it’s not working the best right now, Flight of Fear is an example of a ride with well thought out effects. The $20M big tan box also stares at you as an example of good theming. Although it didn’t end up lasting.

Has anyone here experienced a rollback on Flight of Fear? I haven’t ridding it in a while but I have never seen, experienced, or heard of it rolling back.

So like Invertigo’s original paint job? That one didn’t age too well. edit: see also Diamondbacks lift hill supports. If we did yellow and red, no matter the shade, it’d look like a reverse Diamondback almost.

Ideas for the Crypt building?
^ well yes. But it seemed like so many more options when there were 2 thrill rides to choose from lol

Ideas for the Crypt building?
Back when you had FoF, the Crypt, and BBoBH you could ride when it was storming.

$73 million for sprinklers at Coney BBQ? Those must be some nice sprinklers

^Yes, ours shut down completely for a period of time several years ago in preparation to be moved. IIRC, the Cedar Fair takeover was what stopped the coaster from being moved. (edit: maybe it was KDs it was so long ago I got them switched) I’m pretty sure several pages back someone mentioned if our station was in that spot behind Racer it would have to turn out of the station which hasn’t been done before. I was thinking and Leviathan up at CW makes a 180 degree turn right out of the station. Ours would only have to make a 45 degree turn.

^whatever they do, they had better not touch the videos in the queue lines for Flight of Fear. They already took out the old time TVs but the video would be too much to bare.

The Giga Speculation Thread
The “Teaser” isn’t real. They wouldn’t hang up a teaser on an unlamenated piece of printer paper with scotch tape.
