We all seem to think that we would be the only one that would care for those changes, but I think if you went up to a member of the general public and took them by the hand and said: "Okay the fence next year that will be replaced by a brand new roller coaster that hangs below the track like Flight Deck, it will be called Banshee. Now I have been thinking, what if they replaced that ugly concrete with bricks, wouldn't that make it a lot prettier. *Shows them Coney Mall and brings them back to site* Wouldn't it?" So the response might be: "Yeah sure..." but maybe that would spark something in the mind, they might appreciate the time it takes to do such a thing. I told my brother that Flight Deck was getting renamed and rethemed to The Bat, he asked: "Why?" I said so it can complement Banshee and make it's own little section. He than said:" Does this mean no more walk ups for Flight Deck" I told him "No, I wouldn't expect anymore of those" Then after a few seconds, he said: "Are they going to change the other rides there?".... Oh, Jake you really are my brother. EDIT: Jake is 7, so similar mind set of the General Public.

^ It isn't terribly hard to build a box like that, I would prefer they come up with a more creative way incorporate a dark ride into Rivertown if they were, right now it is just a big eye sore, bigger than Back Lot and Congo falls.

Are we expecting a shipment of new supports and/or track, because we seem to be lacking them.

If they are going to invest time and money into a water ride like that, I would prefer a new ride, preferably in RiverTown but I really wouldn't mind if was in Congo spot just add a little more, it is really plain and simple, which sometime is good, but really I'd like to see something more elaborate come out of an investment like that. Renaming it and giving a little theming and facelift would be A-Okay with me though but really I would love a CopperHead in Rivertown.

Great Trip report! I actually found Carnevil pretty scary, it was Scott's favorite at the end of the night for me. Seems like you had a pretty successful haunt evening. Walk on for pretty much everything right, except Carnevil right? I think it might be fun to do a haunt with you guys. I think I couldn't do any of them with out my friends or somebody to have a laugh with after a scare. Even if it isn't "laughing with you" - The one that did all of the haunts (or the one that always PMs you about technical questions) P.S. LOL, I guess I won't be using the voice recognition software that comes with the phone I was on. At the very least the station will get a new coat of paint won't it?

I wonder if you will see the new Midway for The Bat. I hope that they do something nifty with the station I mean they did start to take out the old email queue in late September so why wouldn't they put some new stuff in or will they just design a queue to hold a higher capacity crowd and expected increase in ridership.

His current contract is through 2016 if I am correct. I hope he stays longer than that he is doing an exceptional job as CEO right now.

When I was getting of Surf Dog I heard a kid no older than 5 say: "Come on Mommy, lets go ride The Beastie!" My Dad gave a chuckle, and I, a large grin.

Okay so, we have done pretty well a decoding a lot more of 2014 than I think any of us bargained for. First Banshee Now The Bat But really intrigues me is what will come along with these awesome additions (yes I know The Bat really isn't an addition...) I hope for some generic face lift of the area and these announcements have defiantly supported that. I suspect that we will receive an X-base like subsection for Banshee and The Bat as of right now, there hasn't been to many hints of anything else getting a rename or theme. But really only the few up top know. For the last couple of weeks ( believe it began late september ) we noticed something underneath Flight Deck ( I'm going to probably switch back and forth a lot), they area under the station was being taken apart. Completely. now there are only cross beams going back and forth. So with this coming of 2014 I am contemplating what all we will really see. So we know for sure that we will be getting an all new inverted coaster named Banshee, Flight Deck will get repainted and renamed to The Bat. But what else can we expect? Xtreme Sky flying new name or could the entrance be moved towards Drop Tower? The bath rooms will they stay the ugly yellow and the Action Zoney look? I can not wait to come back in 2014 and get to experience the new realm we are getting. I'm going back and forth to look frantically at all of the media coverage of the new rides, and midways and see all the awesomeness or should I wait to experience it as a surprise myself.

I actually renamed it Flying Witches in my "If you owned Kings Island" Thread post. So I agree that would fit quite nicely. But also Pavers is something desperately needed, that would be a MAJOR plus for me, although the General Public probably wouldn't notice let alone care.

I feel like this site would be helpful in renaming Xtreme Sky flyer. Some of your Ideas are epic but might be a little out of Cedar Fairs range like enclosing Congo Falls, which wouldn't be unheard of (DT) but that might be a little much for them with already adding a 24 million dollar coaster, like Banshee. I loved the idea of turning Drop Tower's queue into a castle like structure with torches and such that would be amazing!

Absolutely Great Trip Report. I loved the the quick video. Did you know I sat in front of you on The Racer on sunday, you impressed The Racer operator with all of that fancy Cedar Fair talk. Thanks for sharing your version of the day. I am contemplating whether or not to write of mine on saturday and sunday, I am leaning towards going ahead and doing it, because like you said this section will remain rather dormant for a while. And thanks for sharing those stories and feelings of Kings Island and how it is more than "just an amusement park" you are right you have a pretty mind-blowing story but for others it is just a place to retreat and escape from the world.

So with Banshee and now The Bat we now have a little subsection on our hands don't we. Whether or not it will actually be officially considered by the park as Spooky Hallow or not we won't know until next season. But really we will consider it that way, or at least I will. If you take a look at the map than you realize that in our little paradise there is something out of place isn't there. Yeah! Xtreme Sky flyer is smack dab in the middle between Banshee and (now) The Bat. Now this got me thinking, well if they are Rename/retheming Flight Deck to The Bat to compliment the new attraction for 2014 and to give a tip of the hat to worlds first suspended coaster. Now if they did that why have such and Action Zoney ride right there. Hmmm? Maybe we are still awaiting more surprises. A new name for this pay per ride attraction which being right next to these new guest magnets will also rake in a lot of money. We all suspect that Flight Deck/ The Bat will experience an large increase in ridership so it was spruced up and given possibly a more manageable queue to handle this predicted new ridership. So can we expect a new name and theme to fit Xtreme Sky Flyer. I can only hope. I have also liked the idea of completely revamping Action Zone (sound familiar? ) to fit this new ride. There apparently is trend here of giving rides some new names and here at Kings Island in partially one that have been used previously. So, I would like LOVE to see an overhaul of the area. I liked the idea of Drop Tower becoming Demon Drop or Invertigo getting a new name ( think it would be a little awkward to have Demon Drop and Scream Demon right next each other). Over all this an outstanding direction to see the park go and like many, many of you have said you think that Kings Island and the entire chain is good hands. And I absolutely agree, this is AWESOME, I just hope to the heavens that this continues and we keep getting surprises along the way throughout the entire off season. Aswell as in the future.
