  1. The Wii controls for Epic Mickey were really difficult to get comfortable with. As much as I played it, it just never felt intuitive in the way that playing other plat-formers feel. Because of this, it was really tricky to move Mickey through the various levels. If I remember correctly, the camera positioning in the game was buggy too. I remember not being able to tell where I was supposed to jump to, I'd fall, then have to start again. Now the one thing I did like about Epic Mickey 2 was that it was available on the PS3 and the controls were WAY more intuitive. It played like a normal plat-former for the most part. However, some of the game-play still felt awkward and clunky.
  2. If they'd actually make a good platforming game maybe they'd be more of a success. That disaster that was Epic Mickey several years ago for the Wii was ridiculous. They spent so much effort making it have unique gameplay, that it was just a chore to try to play. Things were a little better with Epic Mickey 2, but just from playing the demo, it still felt like they were trying too hard. Just give me a straight forward Mickey Mouse platformer and I'll be happy. Ducktales: Remastered was much more fun to play than either of the Epic Mickeys. Hopefully that'll give them some sort of sign.
  3. ^ It amazes me sometimes to read reviews for various hotels, especially this one. It's like people have stayed at 2 separate hotels or something. Some love it, some hate it. Some say it's clean, some say it's dirty. Some say the hotel staff was friendly, some say they weren't friendly at all. It boggles the mind. All I can say is that I've been to this place twice now in the past 3 years and each time I went it was a great experience. But keep in mind, you do get what you pay for. This is not a $200 a night resort. It is a budget-friendly, family hotel near Disney. However, each time we went, the staff was friendly and the rooms and facilities were clean.
  4. Exactly. Depending on when you go, you don't even need Fastpasses. I went with my family back in 2000 during the first week of December. There was hardly anyone there. The longest line was for Splash Mountain and that was 15-20 minutes. When my wife and I went to Magic Kingdom during our honeymoon, it was mid November. On our way to the park, I was laying out the Fastpass plan. I knew where I was going, when, and everything. We got there and spent the whole day. We only Fastpassed one thing and that was Peter Pan. We didn't even need them. If at all possible, I think the best thing to do is go when crowds are light and Fastpasses aren't even an issue.
  5. Any family who wants to do a WDW vacation on a budget, I'd recommend looking into a hotel called Seralago. It's in Kissimmee about 10 minutes from the parks. They also have bus services to and from the park. They have some very reasonable rates and offer free breakfast buffet passes to their guests. We're not talking about fruit and cereal, we're talking about a full-blown breakfast! We stayed here when my family went down a couple years ago. My wife and I also drove down to Florida for 1 night during our honeymoon. We booked this place for 1 night and they were running a special. $50 per night for a king bed and the room also had a mini fridge. We both got free breakfast buffets the next morning before we went to the park. $50 for a nice room, big bed, and free breakfast. You can beat that! It's not super extravagant, but it's no dump either. I'd say it's the perfect budget resort for a family who's looking to do Disney and also save a few bucks. The resort also has a swimming pool and game room area for the kids. I've been there twice now and love it. I'd definitely go back and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay. Check them out here
  6. ^ Oh I never had to worry about my park hopper pass expiring. I always use every single day that it's good for. I'd never really buy a ticket for more days that I'd be able to go for. So I wouldn't have to worry about my park hopper ticket expiring or paying more to keep it from expiring.
  7. When I went for $600, it was Spring of 2004. We stayed at the Disney All-Stars Resort and we were there for a week. We also bought a 4-day park hopper pass. Now the hotel rooms were shared with 2 people per room, so the cost per night was split in half. We also chipped in on the gas. So the entire trip cost me under $600. When I went with my family, we stayed off Disney property and packed lunches and drinks. We only spent 3 days in the parks and we shared the cost of the tickets. My mom paid for everything else and I know it was under $2,000.
  8. I mentioned that it included gas, but I guess that could've meant gas to drive around the area. We actually did drive all the way down though.
  9. Several years ago and I was sitting on a beach in Michigan and I overheard two ladies talking about a Walt Disney World vacation. One of the ladies commented that her family would never go to Walt Disney World because they "couldn't afford it." She next stated that to go on a Walt Disney World vacation it would cost upwards of $10,000. I'm not sure who she talked to about this or where all she's planning on visiting during this trip, but if you're spending $10,000 on a Disney vacation, you're spending too much. I went with a group of friends and we stayed on Disney property and ate our meals in the park. With gas, hotel, tickets, and food, and souvenirs, I spent under $600. That was doing Disney without a budget in mind. Two years ago I went on a family vacation to Disney World with my mom, sister, niece, nephew, and my then girlfriend. My mom has never had much money, but she saves every year for a family vacation. That year we did Disney on a budget. We stayed off site and packed food and drinks. We did a Disney family vacation between $1,000 - $2,000 including gas and everything. If you really want to do something, it can be done. All it takes is a little time and self control. Plan ahead and save your money. You might not be able to do it right this second, but if you're patient, you will eventually get to do it. A lot of people don't think that way, and that's the problem.
  10. I just took a virtual trip through Kings Island. A very nice trip indeed!
  11. Gosh, the only think I can think of is this has to be a view from the train somewhere. I have no idea!
  12. ^ Yes that's right, the hand gripping the track! I remember now, thanks!
  13. I feel like The Beast's path was paw prints and The Vortex's path was twisted track maybe? Does anyone remember these?
  14. I remember the painted "paths" on the ground that led you to the entrance of the ride queue. You can see this one for Flight Commander in the bottom towards the middle of the picture. If I'm not mistaken, Vortex and The Beast also had these.
  15. No...it's short for "I ain't got none"
  16. As long as we're on the subject of spelling and punctuation, here are some misused words I see on various online/social sites, including this one: To, Too, Two and There, Their, They're To: Used for expressing motion or direction toward a point, person, place, or thing approached and reached Too: In addition; also; furthermore Two: The number 2 And more misused words: There: In or at a place Their: A form of the possessive case of they They're: Contraction of "They are" Source: Dictionary.com
  17. I've never attended a media day before and I'm really considering going to this one. Just a question though. I noticed that it starts at 5:30 am or something like that, is it required that you arrive at that time or can you come later in the morning? I work that day, but might be able to get a half day or something. Any info would be much appreciated!
  18. I just looked at my calendar and Friday April 18th is Good Friday. Maybe that's why they're opening on Friday this year, because it's a holiday.
  19. I went into my settings and unchecked everything and re-saved, then I went back and checked everything that I wanted notifications for and saved again. Still not getting any updates. I was kind of hoping that would reset everything, but no luck yet.
  20. ^ I wish Marvel would create content for "all ages." The way things are now, I don't feel the movies are family friendly at all and that's a shame. I've got a 6 year old nephew who sees the toys in the store, especially at the Disney Store, and loves them but I definitely wouldn't show him the movies because they usually earn every bit of their PG-13 rating due to violence and profanity. The violence I can usually look past if it's done in sort of a sci-fi/comic book type way, but I have to think twice before exposing young children to profanity.
  21. How now...those lame boats in the Mexico section of Epcot are great! I've always enjoyed that ride lol
  22. Not long after the server change, I stopped receiving updates in my e-mail. This has started in the past 2-3 days or so. Usually, when there is a new post on a topic I'm following, I get an e-mail. If someone likes one of my posts, I get an e-mail. You know how it goes. Well, that has all stopped. I went into my settings yesterday and everything is correct. I made sure everything was checked and I re-saved everything. That hasn't fixed the issue. Has anyone else had any of the same problems? What are your suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks!
  23. I disagree. I think you could get an entire ride with the Peanuts characters. There are enough well-known holiday specials, all you'd to do is take some iconic scenes from those specials and create a ride. It could be something like Peanuts through the seasons or something. You could see Linus in the pumpkin patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin, you could see the "Thanksgiving Feast" prepared by Charlie Brown and Snoopy, you could visit behind the scenes at the Christmas Pageant and see everyone practicing. In between the various holidays or seasons, you could have some well-known scenes like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football, Snoopy playing Red Baron, and Lucy giving her "5 cent" advice. I think there is just so much you could do with the source material. Plus, add original voice tracks, score, and animatronics and I think you'd have a pretty memorable ride!
  24. ^ What is happening in that picture? Does that guy have a super mullet or what?
