  1. <RANT> I think this is the stupidest thing ever, that is, if it's a permanent "Haunt" structure. I feel like it's just going to feel cheap and squished into that space. We really don't need any more "clutter" around there, we already have that huge tan box formerly known as The Crypt just hanging out there taking up space and blocking views. We don't need anything else like that. To have a big, blank, un-themed structure just sitting there in what was a nice, green, grassy field is going to look horrible and block the view (somewhat) of the trees. I just have a feeling it's going to ruin the feel of that area around The Beast, and for what, a month long attraction? It's just kind of disappointing really. Now, if they were going to add a highly themed dark ride attraction, then that would be a different story. To put something that "feels" like it belongs in that area would be fine. I just really don't want another tan box, big or small, sitting there taking up space. </RANT>
  2. I was questioning the showing of Jurassic Park myself. I was surprised that it was one of the movies selected to show at the Dive-in Movies last year because I do consider that to be a family event and should be appropriate for ALL ages, not just 13+. I was 12 when Jurassic Park came out in theaters and I remember seeing it that summer. It did have an affect on me. I think I was right around the right age to see it. I think that 12/13 age range is really perfect. I believe that it earns every bit of it's PG-13 rating. I know a lot of people don't take this into consideration because it might not bother them, but that movie does have a ton of language including the use of the phrase "GD" several times which might offend some people more. Now granted, I know that Jurassic Park is like 21 years old and people should know what they're getting themselves into when they sit down to watch it, but when you're showing a movie at a "family event" you would assume that the movie should be appropriate for families. I'm 33 years old and I love the movie, but I wouldn't show it to my kid until I felt like they were old enough. If KI is going to sponsor "family events," then I feel like they should be a little more selective on the types of movies they show.
  3. It has changed. I copied and pasted the quote I used from the original page that was up, so it was, for sure, there. However, when you go back to the page, it's gone completely. I closed the first page before I check the comments on this posting or else I would've done a screen capture. Oh well, it doesn't really matter I guess.
  4. Wow, they totally edited the page! Yeah, the original page that I had up had the "10 - Midnight" time listed in the description.
  5. From the article: "Experience "Dinos After Dark" every Saturday night in July, from 10:00pm until Midnight. The event includes a viewing of the movie Jurassic Park, guided tour, s'mores and activities."
  6. Edit: ^Ah...you beat me to it! Interesting, but just out of curiosity, how are they going to show Jurassic Park, give a guided tour, serve s'mores, and have other activities available all in a 2 hour time slot? The movie itself would take up the whole 2 hours and I'd say you'd need at least a half hour for the tour through Dinosaurs Alive. I can't be positive, but it would make more sense if it was "A viewing of select scenes from the movie 'Jurassic Park." That could work.
  7. We were there a couple of years ago on a random (non-event) Saturday, probably sometime in July. It was just a regular summer day - hot and humid, it was by no means "nice" weather. We got in line for The Beast towards evening. We figured we'd ride that and then catch one more thing before close. Nope. We were in line for at least 2 hours, maybe longer. At one point they shut the ride down for the fireworks. Then we had to finish getting through the queue and onto the ride. It was kind of ridiculous really. It was probably the longest I've ever waited for a ride when it wasn't a new attraction on opening day.
  8. I was able to find it by doing a "Search by Image." I then uploaded the small image and that returned results of similar images. I then found a medium sized version and then repeated the process. I couple of searches and I was able to find the large size. Search by image is always a great tool to use if your keywords aren't returning the results you want. Especially if you already have a version of the picture you're searching for. Anyway, glad I could help!
  9. Sure no problem. Sometimes Google Images can be your friend
  10. Edit: Here you go! (2000x1312)
  11. I always thought this was a cool shot/angle
  12. I much prefer Scooby, I think he is the better dog. Just a personal opinion though, I could be wrong. PS: I'm also an artist and have always found his character design to be much more interesting, so I'm probably being biased.
  13. We were out last night with my sister-in-law for her birthday and she was mentioning how she'd like to get back to Kings Island this summer so she could ride "The Banshee" and "The Diamondback." Sometimes you just want to correct them, but this time I let it slide.
  14. A line from the article says: "In 1972, five themed areas were highlighted. Today there are seven." Unfortunately, those areas that are supposed to be "themed" are not as noticeable as they were back then and tend to run together. It would be nice if they were as distinctive as they were back in those days.
  15. This is exactly why we need more theming in the queue. Remember when Maestro used to give you little tidbits of info regarding the theater as you waited in line? Yep. This is exactly what this ride is lacking.
  16. A few years back my wife and I were on Backlot Stunt Coaster and found a man's credit cards along with his ID which was some type of military ID. The ID had some info on it, but not his phone number, and I debated whether or not to hold onto the cards and try to get in touch with this person myself, or even try to mail his credit cards and ID to him. Then I decided I didn't want to be responsible for his credit cards potentially getting lost in the mail, or even worse, stolen. So I took them to guest services and turned them in. Hopefully this man was able to claim his property.
  17. Just curious what kind of a draw this place will have because this isn't my type of place at all. I definitely would not go here of my own free will. You'd have to drag me there, offer to pay my way in, plus promise me that we'll leave after just a few hours. Just totally uninteresting to me. However, I'm sure many people feel differently and that's cool.
  18. Perhaps they could install something like this:
  19. No...please no more giant boxes!
  20. Everytime I ride it, I pretty much never get wet from coming down the hill. I will get some splashes of water on me, but nothing too bad. What does get me wet though is that dad blasted Snoopy shooting water at me. I'll make it through the entire ride almost completely dry, in then I get totally drenched right at the end. Sometimes I kind of wish they'd shut that off. I enjoy the ride itself, but I'm not always in the mood to get soaked.
  21. ^ If I'm not mistaken, The Enchanted Voyage and the Smurfs Enchanted Voyage utilized all the space in that entire building. From what I understand, when Phantom Theater was installed, that building was partitioned and part of it was for Phantom Theater and the other part was for something called The Enchanted Theater. So yes, it would seem that Smurfs Enchanted Voyage would've been longer since it occupied more space at the time. Right now, again if I'm not mistaken, the other part of that building not being used for Boo Blasters, is being used for either storage or a Haunt attraction, or maybe both? Correct me if I'm wrong. Hope this info helped!
  22. ^Wow Voicetek, trying not to leave a "one word" post
  23. It was either Vortex or King Cobra. I want to say it was Vortex first and then King Cobra. It was so long ago, details like that tend to blur together. However, being young, I don't see myself riding a coaster with loops while standing up first, I'd be more likely to ride one sitting down before making the leap to a stand-up coaster. That makes the most sense.
  24. They used to do the "Bring a Friend" days on random weekdays in the summer. I went with my wife one day in July the first summer we started dating. It was just a random weekday. It was nice and the crowds weren't bad at all.
  25. Yes, this was the same film that was shown at Universal Studios Florida. I had ridden it back in 1997 when I was there with some friends and was surprised to see that it was the same one being shown at KI. Here is some info I found on Wikipedia: "In 2006, The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera was presented. It had been closed after its last run in 2002 at Universal Studios Florida. In 2007 the Hanna-Barbera ride was taken down and was never shown at the theater again." Here is a preview I found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lR6HeYCnrDM
