  1. I wouldn't hold my breath until Thursday's meeting is over.
  2. That's an awfully expensive bone, wouldn't you say?
  3. TheCrypt replied to rcwizard13's topic in KI Polls
I find it silly the explanation for the name change has been pointed out several times yet people seem to insist on "public outcry" and other garbage.
  4. ^There's also a triangular footer underneath the first drop. A triangular footer doesn't really mean much regarding coaster types because various coasters from various manufacturers use them.
  5. In the middle of summer. Perhaps the OP thought because of the heat, fewer people would show up. A valid reason in my book.
  6. Probably not in the morning as most people will be occupied by parades but I would think as the day progresses it will become more and more crowded.
  7. I bring up my scoliosis because of this quote. As for people with extreme mental disabilities, you can't really ban them from riding a ride "just in case." Just think of how ugly it might get when they want to ride WindSeeker, when they know they've ridden it before, and can't because it "might" break down. You might as well let them ride WindSeeker because you're more likely to get off safe and sound rather than stranded 300' in the air.
  8. ^The fountains are not 40 years old. I believe they were refurbished under the Paramount reign.
  9. My family--including me--has scoliosis. Does that mean we can't ride anything at Kings Island anymore?
  10. That's why I said to my knowledge. But seriously, good point. Can anyone offer insight as to whether or not it was considered a hyper coaster at the time?
  11. If you are referencing Son of Beast as Kings Island's first hyper coaster I must point out that hypers don't have loops. If you don't believe me, Terp should have my back on this one. But does that mean Kings Island got it's first hyper coaster in 2007 rather than 2009 or 1999? 2007 being when SoB reopened without the loop. I was referencing Raging Bull not Son of Beast; my apologies for the confusion. Also, Son of Beast opened in 2000 not 1999.To my knowledge, there hasn't been a manufacturer (outside of RCCA) who has tried a hypercoaster + an inversion which is where I personally believe the "hypers don't have inversions" philosophy derived.
  12. This thought is of heavy weight in my mind!
  13. It's been brought up before. The park counts the two inversions after the mid-course brake run as one.
  14. I think what BlondyRideOn means keep the fountains similar to what they already look like. Keep them looking ornate and try not to disturb their presence during the day.
  15. After finally watching that video, I find it interesting they seem to have incorporated the show fountains with the normal fountains. Ponderous...
  16. Unless he edited it he didn't say B&M. He is referencing Magnum XL..Even then, the hyper craze hadn't really caught on just yet. Not many parks built hypers until the 2000's. Kings Island was not as late to the party as secondson makes it out to be.So again, ten years.
  17. Quit saying it took 20 years for a B&M hyper. Their first hyper was in 1999, making it ten years.
  18. I believe it's 20% of the daily attendance.
  19. It doesn't make much sense to announce something of this magnitude when nobody's there.
  20. I believe it goes through Labor Day. Edit: just kidding
  21. Just like the people who built your house should live in it first.
  22. TheCrypt replied to YoungStud's topic in Trip Reports
TheCrypt thinks it was a different crew. Gary Coleman? He's a nice guy. Did you talk to him at all?
  23. TheCrypt replied to YoungStud's topic in Trip Reports
You seem to forget there are multiple crews on Diamondback.
  24. TheCrypt replied to YoungStud's topic in Trip Reports
    Is Diamondback stacking?
  25. Where do you draw the line on what rides they can or cannot ride?
