Nice video! I really miss the park. Also, I watched "Son of Beast discussion"' and that made me crack up. It looks like you made that, according to the user names: Nice 3 minute vid!
  2. I like the technology idea. My 2 favorite things are gadgets and Kings Island. I remember like last year on an empty day my dad checked his phone on this older Kings Island app, checked turious he ride times, and there was like a 45 minute wait for Flight of Fear and Diamondback, when there was really a walk on. Luckily he updated it to 5 minutes (lowest possible) but it probably didn't matter because likely nobody was checking that app. It would be nice if there was a new Kings Island app and Kings Island updated the ride times hourly during park operation. I also am curious about new family rides, i'd love a Ferris Wheel. Did Kings Island used to have a Ferris Wheel? Or was that just a dream or something. Anyway, a Ferris Wheel would be nice.
  3. Me to, 2011. I don't see anything different then when I rode Congo Falls in the summer.
  4. Darn, I don't like this photo. It's to blurry ! i'm going to guess a ittle newer, not sure 1982?
  5. I think I'm the only one who can't see the paramount logo. Maybe it was a bad idea to start posting on my iPod, not a big screen like a computer. Where exactly is the paramount logo?
  6. It looks new... Random guess 2006?
  7. Can someone tell me how they know it's 2008? Is it because it looks new -Diamondback? Edit: oh, I think I know now, Diamondback construction?
  8. Sweet! I'm hoping these types of topics continue every offseason. As for my guess, no idea. 1982?
  9. At this very second of posting, i'm the only person online. Sad.
  10. I've been gone, so i've just been kind of glaring over these posts. Whatever they do, I just hope it's good. And a merry Christmas to everybody!
  11. Thanks for doing this, all the pictures were great. And thanks to hendrick for the fades. I remember I first heard of this thread when it was mentioned on Kings Islands twitter. From the first post, (Hanna Barbera logflume/D-Back que and shop, Planet Snoopy overlook and log flume) to the last post (Eiffel Tower sky ride/Eiffel Tower WindSeeker behind) it's been a great thread. I had no idea when this thread would end, and was sad when I read the news today. Thanks for everything !
  12. I choose 1974 when I look at the 2 pictures. If I could get a picture of the real spot of the Oktoberfest station, i'm not sure because it's hard for me to judge without a picture. 1 mistake is ok, as they happen in life. Happy early Christmas everyone!
  13. I'm really glad I came across that on Google Videos, because it's honestly one of the best references to the actual ride that I know exists. Once upon a time, I also had links to a complete queue walkthrough video from 2002 and a video of the preshow. Somewhere along the way, I lost the address for them, and I haven't been able to find them since. They were on some odd, unknown video hosting site that, coincidentally enough, looked a lot like what Vimeo looks like now. Really wish I could find them again... Man, i've been looking all over the internet and could never find any video of the que, and the only one of the ride being the one DropZone99 posted of course. The closest i've ever found to a que video was that Travel Channel special about it, showing a few parts of the que. I never got to ride Tomb Raider, so I as hoping to see a video of the que somewhere online. There is no videos of the Crypt's rideI could ever find online. Actually, I don't think i've even found a picture of the ride chamber or 2 row gondola of the Crypt era. I would love to take a video on ride of The Crypt, but i'm not that risky. I'll probably get caught, and I could drop my camera, and it wouldn't be retrieved "until the end of the day, if at all". You guys have heard that in line for the Crypt, right? I'm surprised they said they actually would get the items possibly at the end of the day. I know they'd never do that on Tomb Raider because the items would drown in the "lava". Anyway, I could see them possibly operating the ride this year, and removing skeleton props and stuff from the que throughout the year, to prepare for closing during Haunt or 2013. But what do I know, probably not. It seems like half the people posting here say it's gonna operate, and the othere half think otherwise. I have no clue what will happen.
  14. Maybe. I hope it will be there, SAO. Is SAO (Standing and operating) a real term?
  15. It sure is! Sounds like it broke out a few other times this year!
  16. Hmm, this one is a toughy. Things stayed the same, like the patio, pond, and the Eiffel Tower. And some things changed, like the trees that sure have grown, and Viking Fury - Sky Ride. Speaking of Viking fury, on Labor Day weekend 2011. The ride began, and when the ship was at about at *medium height*, someone on the *trees side* of the ship yelled, "Less filling!" then, the pond side went up (where I am) and my and a couple others yelled "Tastes great"! I believe about half of the boat was confused, but most people joined in anyway. "Less Filling"! yelled the tree side, raising their hands up. "Tastes great!" yelled most of the people on the pond side. It continued for the rest of the ride. At the end of the ride, me and the ship went into a huge applause. "Sounds like you liked your ride" said the ride operator. So then I watched the next cycle. No "Less filling, tastes great". Just a normal cycle. Standbyme made my post a huge story, because of the Viking Fury picture. If anybody was some how on thta ride, or saw it, then you can tell me. ir rode it on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. That was probably my greatest flat ride memory ever, and so 2011 wins because of the VF memory. Keep it up, Standbyme!
  17. Right, it needs to be updated. It's a great site, but it's been 5 years since they really updated. Things like it looks like SOB is open, and the description for The Crypt is way wrong. And they could use some new pictures. It need's to be updated. But, is it were 2007 right now, it would be a GREAT site.
  18. 1974. Not much left except for a walkthrough with potential but I believe not much is there. That tent looks nice, I never knew it was there. Thanks again Standbyme and Hendrick.
  19. I hear that the new wave pools waves are 4 feet high. Does anybody know how high the current wave pools waves are? Oh, and congrats to Jen Grams!
  20. 2011 for me too, I think I like the grown trees better. But in the 2011 photo, I see a lot of people running into the park, so it looks like it's gonna be a crowded day ! Great job and keep it up!
  21. I still really have no idea why KD kept the exact same ride, with just a name change i believe. I think any fan of Tomb Raider (I've never seen it) at KD would probably go "Hey, I didn't know they had a Tomb Raider ride here", if a Tomb Raider fan goes to ride The Crypt at KI, and didn't know about the past, they would have no clue it used to be Tomb Raider themed, I just don't see why KD gets to keep the themeing illegally, or if it is legal, why we can't keep the theming.
  22. They've gotta make their minds up. Which seat will they take? Too bad it's not Friday. It depends on the ride for me. I like Diamondback and Beast better in the back, but I like Flight Deck and Flight of Fear better in the front.
  23. I definetly don't mind the roughness. Though, I don't remember how rough it was, because I haven't rode it for 3 years!!!!!! The Beast is rough, but I like it. I actually rode SOB on the last day of operation, I forgot exacly what day, but June 2009. Later that day I hear somebody complained she got hurt, and SOB will be closed, but it's inapropriate to state when it will reopen. I just wonder if I rode SOB on the last day of operation.
  24. Ok, so the dog warriors used to be there, then they were replaced next to The Bat demon. So, for possibly the Crypts last year, that was the part of the antechamber that had the skeletons and 'fire'. I don't remember that part of the room a whole lot, espicially considering I lookedat The Bat more than the other side, and I only got to ride it twice.
