I thought it would be nice to put up a plaque or sign at the location of each defunct ride. Just give name, some history and facts. Maybe include some pictures.

In the Timeline of Kings Island's History on KIC it show The Beastie got them in 2000. So maybe that gives us a close proximity of when PTC recommended them?? 2000 – The Beast`s sequel was unleashed, a massive new wooden roller coaster named Son of Beast, opened in Paramount Action Zone. The ride was designed by the Roller Coaster Corporation of America and was the world’s tallest, fastest, and only looping wooden roller coaster. It was the first wooden coaster built at the park since The Beast. An upcharge helicopter attraction, Flight Team Aerial Helicopter Tours, was also added. Kings Island introduced a new Halloween event, FearFest (today known as Halloween Haunt). Kings Mill Log Flume remained closed for the 2000 season. A WaterWorks entrance, from the parking lot for season pass holders, opened. Seatbelts were installed on The Beastie. 2000 was the final season for Kenton’s Cove Keelboat Canal.

I couldn't agree more . . all the updates I am beyond thrilled for the upcoming season. Things like this make me want to continue renewing my season pass and spend more money while I am in the park.

I also miss the Rivertown look and feel we had in the 70's and 80's. But like BoddaH1994 said, we cannot have both if want rides like Diamondback built. Even Tomb Raider, it was an amazing ride with the theming when it was first built but came at the expense of one my favorite rides back then - Kenton Cove's Keelboat Canal. I know Diamondback could have been built somewhere else farther away. But the early years under CF they focused on "Amusement Park" look and feel. I can remember 7-8 years ago walking down Coney Mall one night and in every direction I looked, it just seemed I can see a roller coasters/rides lit up and running seeming all on top of each other. The sounds, lights, laughter, screams and action just hit you and it was an amazing experience. So I can see how someone planning would go for a more "Amusement Park" feel . . maybe even "Carnival Feel" could be a the term. But I still prefer the theming of park areas.

I was thinking about this and cannot remember. I believe there was not anything in this spot before The Bat was built except maybe part of the canoe lake. But when did they build the path from where The Vortex entrance was going down to the LaRosa's Pizza building?

I don't have a picture but I saw a tweet of some new sidewalk/curb replacement in what I think is around the Eiffel Tower area. Has anyone else seen it and know where they are doing those improvements?

I always wished our train went around the entire park. It could be a way to get over to Oktoberfest/Coney Mall from Planet Snoopy/Rivertown and vice versa. I do not remember which park but I thought one of the CF's parks has a train going around the property. Or it use to have one . . maybe I am thinking of a different park chain. Kind of similar to getting across the park via the Sky Ride . . although I would like that back too.

Kudos to CF and the park's management team for all the improvements made this year. Looking forward to the season to start.

I felt like if they are not going to put in an attraction in the Tomb Raider building, then turn it into an eating area to something like FestHaust. With Rivertown theming to match the area. I know a lot of people want it torn down, but it is still a huge investment just to throw away. That said I still want something to replace it . . just saying if it going to stay, put it to good use.

For me, unless a ride has become unsafe and cannot pass safety inspections I do not want anything to be removed. Only if there is a new project to replace that ride. I wish they would add more flat rides in some empty spots. If a ride has high maint costs and low ridership then plan to replace it. But I don't want to walk by Congo Falls and look at an empty spot for 2-3 years. Maybe I misinterpret what some people are saying.

How long did CF sit on the Six Flags offer before rejecting it?

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't the Six Flags offer to be paid in stocks. If this Seaworld offer is in "cash" it may be more intriguing for CF to accept. idk, I'm not a finance expert in these types of dealings. I actually hope they will not accept the offer. I have been very pleased with the operations and direction KI is heading under CF. Even though I have been a skeptic of feeling CF would not let KI shine above CP. But I accept this in how well the park is ran in my opinion . . I love our management team. I love Kings Island.

Does this match the leaked plans? If so, it could be one of best 2 or 3 coasters in NA . . maybe even #1. And who knows if it will even be built, changed or just canceled. But if it does get built, it's just more confirmation to me that KI will never get something superior to CP. Don't get me wrong, KI has world class coasters and there are many parks that would love to have our lineup. But it's just what I feel is the reality of the situation. idk With that said, I have been more than happy with operations, food, shows and theming CF has brought to the park. I have been going to KI since it opened in '72. I do love all the new rides KI has received under CF. My favorite is Mystic Timbers just because it is so fun to ride. Again, it's just my opinion.

I would love something like Calico but definitely would come with a huge price tag. I feel like they need to redo Boo Blasters but maybe because I still wish it was The Phantom Theater. I understand how everyone feels the Crypt building is an eyesore but the building itself is a huge investment just to throw away. I am still trying to think outside the box (no pun intended) that is financially feasible. Would turning it into another Festhaus make sense? Of course different theming/shows/food. Or is that just too much for KI to have two in the park??

Just thinking out loud . . for the Crypt building, why not revamp the queue line and retrofit it for the smaller top spin ride that doesn't pull itself apart?? Then we could have the more exciting spinning cycle that we loved when it first opened. idk

I would be in favor of an extra hill at the long break shed. The one after the first drop and hill in the ravine.

I guess the checkered boxes will be OK once everything is painted. Not really sure what to change them to. I just felt they looked tired and old . . out of place.

Can't wait . . going first night it's open.

Maybe it has to do with so many rides getting repainted this year??? Don't know but may have caused operational issues.

Very exciting all the paint jobs getting done for next season. I am always very appreciative when the park does updates and keep things fresh and new. Love the new logo.
