Park Ambassadors Cut In 2024
I don't think they are taking on SF mentality of cuts per say. But pre-merger a company would want a stronger bottom line and leaner operations. CF knew of the coming merger opportunity and started planning months before GP knew of the possible merger. Plus downturn in economy, higher costs for just about everything and missing out on a year of season pass sales due to covid all played a role. Interesting next couple of years ahead post-merger. But I feel bad for the people losing their positions and for park goers who no longer have this great service available to them. Some of slack will have to be covered by existing employees and putting more pressure on them.

2024 Wishlist
Bring back a working mill wheel for The Beast. Not the pond/lake under the track turn. But just a small pool to collect water and pump it back up to turn the wheel.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
I am probably a minority here but I would prefer the new attraction to part of Rivertown. Coney is large enough, just needs a flat or two to fill it out.

Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad Nathan 6 Chime Rebuild
One of the sounds I love hearing at the park is the train chime (whistle), and is probably my favorite. Right up there with hearing the "Roar of The Beast", wheels of Diamondback, the front entrance water fountains. I always wished the train was more prominent and circled the entire park. But I also always loved the secludedness of the ride, especially in the days before the water park.

Coney Island Permanently Closing
Keep part of the pool and make a VIP swim lounge for watching concerts.

Cedar Point "Christmas in the Park"
Not sure why, but I decided to check if Cedar Point had a "WinterFest". It seems they had something called "Christmas in the Park" back in 1994. I don't have anything to back that up except some old message boards. Did anyone here attend? Why didn't CF pursue it more? Was it just too miserable with weather coming off the lake? Would you attend if they started something similar again??

Great Smoky Mountains Mountain Coasters
I usually ride the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster in Pigeon Forge. Mostly because it has good discounts on Groupon. But it is a really fun coaster.

Winterfest 2023 Discussion
This year the buffet is a hard sale for me to justify. Although that view of I Street is amazing. I understand the price of food has gone up so that means the price of the buffet would go up too. But the extra cost for the dessert just soured me on the idea. At least give season pass holders a discount. It just seems more of price gouging. idk Just about any other buffet I can remember the dessert was part of it. Am I being too harsh? But the park was amazing and loved every minute I was there. I just ended up doing my Pub Burger was good as always . . and hot chocolate.

2023 General Kings Island Discussion
I feel the budget cuts were made to make the bottom line look better for the merger.

2024 Operating Calendar is Posted.
I've been a Gold Pass buyer for 20+ years and always been happy with the value of my purchase. But I do feel bad for the people who bought Prestige and felt jilted by the park. I came close to buying Prestige but decided against and glad I did not purchase it. My biggest complaint for the past several years is more open daily dates in August. Most of the other parks in the chain are open daily in August to Labor Day. I know students are back in school. But it still is summertime!! I want to go over and ride The Beast at lunch time before summer is over. It is sad to see those close dates in the calendar.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
So do you think KI's new name will be something like "King's Island - A SixFlags Theme Park"? Similar to Great Escape??
-
Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
Not sure of how long the Snoopy IP is signed for by CF. But I think it would be good to keep the 'Camp Snoopy' area they planned with the new coaster. Then convert the remaining kids area to 'Looney Toons'. I am on the fence with Action Zone. But if it can done correctly like Universal's "Islands of Adventure". I think it could be a good thing. I mean the area still seems like a Paramount leftover . . the old KI Safari Village feel is already gone. But I agree leave the rest of the park alone. Keep our traditions.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
Going between Knott's and Magic Mountain could potentially be a 4-hour drive.

Another Cedar Fair / Six Flags merger rumor (Reuters)
Maybe this has been in the works for awhile . . the reason for all maintenance, staff, and ride hours cuts. To make the bottom line look better for a merger or takeover.

2024 Wishlist
1. Add more water features around the park. I just like hearing and seeing running water . . miss the waterfall we had in The Gardens. 2. Same as above posts . . Add more trees around ET and BSC. I do not want to see BSC unless I am in line and riding it. Plant more trees on the side of The Crypt building we can see from The Beast. 3. Run the water mill in The Beast line again. Just create a smaller covered rock pool at the bottom to collect and pump back to the top. Kick people out of line who throws stuff in it. 4. Revamp of Action Zone. Not sure why to me but Invertigo and Congo Falls just feel disconnected from the rest of the park. Not sure what to do about it. I know some may say "what about The Bat" line. I am fine with it because of the immersive feeling of going in by surrounded trees. I used to roll my eyes whenever anyone would complain about them cutting down trees. I just thought what do you expect them to do when adding new rides. One day I watched a video of someone walking thru KD and thought how beautiful and immersive the trees made the experience. Now I am a tree believer.

New Coaster 2024?
Just a thought . . turn The Vortex area into a lake (return of Swan Lake). Add a flat or two, restaurant, shops, ie . . another Adventure Port like area. Build the new coaster in Action Zone. I do not think we can get two 25 million coasters for both areas.

Haunt Constructive Criticisms
Just a thought . . because of brawls and other incidents that led to the Chaperone policy. They had to pivot to more family-friendly environment to help keep attendance at Haunt expectant levels. Glad to hear the fog is back.

Haunt - Tricks & Treats Reviews 2023
I understand some people's frustration. But what was the park to do? What was the chain to do?? The chaperone policy was put in place for a reason. Too many incidents and I know I started to think I didn't want to come out HH anymore. Not wanting to inadvertently get in the middle of a brawl. I'm sorry if that offends but I am sure other people were thinking the same thing. Maybe I am wrong . . idk.

KI Questions that keep you up at night
Whatever became of Jimbo and Jenny. Did they move on to bigger shows? Or retire peaceably to an aquarium in more a sunny environment??

How much longer for Congo Falls?
I've said this before but the last thing I want to see is two empty lots to stare at for a few years in AZ like we have in The Vortex spot. Hopefully they both can be replaced as a planned project to fully update the AZ area. I have been happy with the Adventure Port updates this year and Camp Snoopy next year.

KI Questions that keep you up at night
What/where would the park be today if both Paramount and CF never bought it?

2023 General Kings Island Discussion
I'm sure somebody has noted this before but I spot checked some of the other CF parks. And they are all opened this week. What's the deal with KI?? I expected CP, Carowinds, Knotts, Great American to be open and most regional parks closed. But it looks like they are all open except KI.
