Kings Island New Website
Fast Passes bring revenue to our park regardless of the financial situation of who's buying them. Revenue keeps KI open. I'd rather wait in a ride line of an open park and watch fast passers go by, versus standing outside of a closed park. Revenue finances more rides. Every time I'm waiting in line and a fast passer (with their crowns, scepters, capes and magnificent jewels) goes sauntering past, I think, "There's another $50 going towards a coaster that I will get to wait in a longer line for!" Plus, waiting in line gives me more time to smoke a few cigarettes. More power to anyone getting a Fast Lane pass. Just don't rattle your jewelry at us commoners as you go by.

Ghost Hunters at KI Wed Jan 11th
Plus SOB is close to the graveyard. So when it came to B-roll time, the crew didn't have to haul gear very far. After a long shoot day, distance can definitely be a factor in B-roll shots.

Someone... maybe we should ask Terp. But, but then again, Who would be sitting in the restaurant at midnight?

Ghost Hunters at KI Wed Jan 11th
Watched it last night. Did they really discover that if you're in the restaurant at night and someone walks around in the kitchen, you can actually hear footsteps? Shocking. (sorry for the spoiler if you haven't seen it yet) Nice park B-roll.

How do I delete my account ?
Account?.... How much did you pay to join? My membership was free. Just sign out and stop posting. Just curious, did someone say something to offend you? Because to me this group is generally very respectful of each other, extremely knowledgeable, and often very funny posters. Or do you just live by the creed, "I'm not paranoid.... I KNOW people are after me!"

No offer was made for a photo credit so how are they going to get noticed. So a budding photographer wanting to market their work won't get that "lucky break". BTW as you proved in the fantastic thread of your photos, great shots are a result of experience and very hard work. If someone wants to reproduce any of the shots, you should get paid for the very hard work you put into those. If not pay, then at least a credit. Not a single shot on the link provided had a single photo credit which means KI paid someone to shoot them, or for the rights to use them uncredited. Why doesn't KI fire the Graphic Designer, Content Managers, Programmers, Sales people, and anyone else responsible for this new site and just get submissions for free? Why not just have a huge gathering of the freelance creative community to trade their work for a free tour? I'm with you that it's great KI is participating on this site, and an enemy of KI I won't be, but it seems kinda cheesy to hit a fan site up for something they should be paying for, or giving credit to.

Want to help us?
Once upon a time people studied hard, apprenticed, and sweated through brutal shoots to gain the knowledge and skills to be respected and hired as a professional photographer. Many squeaked out livings taking pictures and videos that were sold to corporations for their marketing campaigns. I'm guessing this new website is not a charity, and KI has some plans to generate revenue of some type for the Cedar Fair corporation from this new site. Why not pay someone who is trying to eak out a living for professional photos considering money in some form will be generated from this site. Or at least (as TOPGUN1993 suggested) offer a well placed photo credit so the photographer can link to this site for their marketing purposes so they can try to get some paid work down the road. If there is still a photography industry, it's stuff like this that will kill it.

Ghost Hunters at KI Wed Jan 11th
They're investigating the reports of a ghost behind Thunder Alley. You see if you stand near the entrance and look up, there's a huge ghostly structure in the woods. But if you look at the park map.....There's Nothing!!! It's a GHOST!! Quotes from every past Ghost Hunter episode: "What was that?....Did you hear that?.....I hope we got that on camera!...That was definitely something!!!"

Flashback Till Opening Day 2012
Let's see! As a 20+ year 2 pack a day reformed smoker (5 years ciggie free, Yay air!) I'm really fine with the smoking sections in the park if people would just use them, but what drives me nuts are the people who feel entitled to share their bad habit with everyone else in the ride lines. As Steve Martin once said, "Someone asked me, Mind if I smoke?.... I said, I don't know, do you mind if I fart?" I now return you to your regularly scheduled topic.

C'mon KI...When?
Ooops... didn't mean to shine a flashlight on the old homepage.

C'mon KI...When?
The home page of our beloved KICentral.com is now stating, "Opening Day April 30th". Nothing is posted at KI's site. Where did this information come from? If this is true, thank you to whoever posted it.

C'mon KI...When?
Said the incredibly slow Doctor! (I love typos)

C'mon KI...When?
From KI's website: "Thank you for another great season! Kings Island is now closed until spring 2012. Our 2012 operating calendar will be available soon!" I don't know about the rest of you, but Snowwoman and I make it through the harsh Ohio Valley winter by counting down until opening day, but it's kind of hard because we don't know when KI is opening. So far "soon" has meant 2 months and counting. Without Dinosaur footprint teases in the snow, a WindSeeker construction webcam, or DB/Beast ERT drama, shouldn't we at least get an opening date bone thrown at us? That, or pan a webcam and let us watch ya'll dig a hole!

What's the year?
Well... judging by the Sepia color tone of the print, which Eastman Kodak altered in the chemical processing of Kodachrome film in 1985 to more of a magenta spectrum, I would say 1984. BTW, the whole first part of that sentence is complete B.S.! I thought it sounded good though.

Now 4 months definitely seem even longer. Your hard work and talents have really been impressive. I can't imagine the hours you must have spent with the sounds of coasters and shouts of happy people riding and having a great time all around while you stood there going, "Maybe one more inch to the left.....or should I tilt up and zoom out....geez it's hot out here.....I don't think this is the right station!" To come to your defense, the Skyride buckets did eventually get over to the station you photographed. Thanks again for this. Now if we could only come up with something to argue about, or debate for the next four months.

Soak City Kings Island 2012
I remember a few years ago at a six park, we had to rent an innertube if we didn't want to wait in ridiculously long lines for the "free" ones at the different attraction entrances. I wonder if KI will start renting tubes for the new pool. I would ask if anyone knows about KI's plan, but coastergod knows I don't want to rattle terp's chain.

What`s next for Son of Beast?
So I looked at my 2011 park map and couldn't find this "SOB" thing everyone keeps talking about. I then pulled out my 2010 park map, and again I couldn't find any "SOB". I get the feeling with all this talk about a nonexistent coaster, ya'lls might be some lyin' SOB's!!! I forgot to mention I'm psychic.... I looked at the 2012 park map, and sure enough still no SOB.
