  1. At first, the relocation of WWC's entrance shocks me, but upon taking a look from above, this move should shorten the queue by a significant amount. It would also explain the construction some reported seeing in the woods behind the train station. Also, to answer thegajone's question, the new entrance is tucked between Rivertown Potato Works and Diamondback's drop.
  2. Well, distance is obviously the primary problem for you; however, I feel the need to inform any readers that 3 years ago, when I was 15, I applied for the 2013 season, but was emailed back to not come for an interview until I turned 16. What job were you applying for? Just curious I honestly can't remember for sure, but I believe I selected a sweep as my top choice at that time. I remember thinking it would be the easiest to get into at that age.

  4. What I would love for the park to get next is a GCI similar to Goldstriker or Prowler. I've never experienced one, but it seems like something I would enjoy. However, I believe a B&M giga will indeed be the next coaster. As others have said, Fury 325 has received rave reviews and a giga obviously offers the best marketability and presumably the best return on investment.
  5. That's some great diversity. I particularly like the inclusion of X-base and Drop Tower.
  6. You should create a KI Opening Day Countdown account on Twitter to post these pictures to. At least, that's what I would do if I was taking the time to edit a daily countdown photo.
  7. That moment when you check the dates for Coasterstock and realize it's the weekend of your graduation...
  8. Everyone can see Backlot Stunt Coaster stop, too. Yet, at least one mother has shouted, "OMG! It stopped! My kid is stuck on that!"
  9. Cedar Point has wedding information ready on their website due to their popularity as a great wedding destination with a mile long beach and several hotels. In order to inquire about one at Kings Island, your best bet would be calling/e-mailing the park directly.
  10. Could it really be closed for the next week? I can't see how it should be closed for longer than a day at most. The ride didn't malfunction or anything. A human was stupid, which unfortunately is happening far too often in today's world.
  11. I'm not just talking about amusement parks here. Of what I originally quoted, sales tax, law enforcement, and building codes are completely independent of the amusement industry. In essence, why would anyone build any business of any kind where it straddles a state border? True, but you did not clarify that in your first post and, as this is a forum built upon amusement parks, it is easy to assume you are only talking about amusement parks.
  12. ^^ I see "inspections" was a poor word choice on my part. I was trying to think of a word that summed up all that was quoted. In a rush, "inspections" was all I had. I've edited my post to better reflect my line of thought.
  13. Makes one wonder why they chose to build on the state line in the first place... Well, were state inspections (responsibilities towards the amusement industry) of the 70s as big of a deal as they are today?
  14. Why is Cedar Fair giving Carowinds two amazing new slide complexes in a three year span but neglecting to give us one in what is now nine plus years (11 including the Paramount era)? Regardless, it looks like exciting times indeed are ahead for Carolina water park fanatics. Perhaps BB1 should move there? Anyway, for those wanting to see the plans here's a link to the discussion page for it on Carowinds Connection (if you want to be surprised on announcement day, do not follow this link): http://carowindsconnection.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4335&start=555
  15. Ignore. Double post from mobile.
  16. I believe you're looking at it the wrong way. This app will be for viewing POVs in a VR setting when you're not at the park. What WindingSon posted four above me is basically what I am thinking here.
  17. Looks pretty neat. I just looked online for the manufacturer, but it doesn't seem to have been released. Any guesses?
  18. Well, if there's a scare, I'll personally find it worth it. I just payed $200 to charity for 2 days admission to Cedar Point, a breakfast and dinner for 4 people, and a site to pitch our tent. Talk about a deal. I'm beyond excited.
  19. Valravn. Does anyone actually think Cedar Point would use that? Have you looked up what one is? It's honestly quite terrifying. I would think it is much more likely to be a name for a seasonal Halloween attraction. If not hopefully it is one of those trademarks that are never used (Stratosoar/Centurion). If Cedar Point (or any park for that matter) were to announce an attraction under this name, I'd be apalled.
  20. 1. The Beast 2. Flight of Fear 3. Diamondback- Whenever I think of KI, one of the first things that come to mind for me is standing near the drop and that awesome sound of the train coming down.
  21. Not the media, but I was walking behind a kid at school on Friday and I suddenly heard him say, "We went to Disney World over Christmas Break and while we were there the WORST thing that could happen happened. We went on It's a Small World and we stopped for a couple of minutes!"
  22. As malem said, this is too early to be for Dollywood (AKA: Shot Rod), especially considering they only just started land clearing. Though I do personally believe Shot Rod will be a launched B&M, this red track I would think has to be going somewhere overseas.
  23. Whenever I do countdowns, I like to count each night as a day. April 17 is one night before the 18, so one day left. I guess I should technically say one night left, but that's the way I've always done it.
  24. Am I the only one who instantly thinks 'People Eating Tasty Animals' every time 'PETA' is mentioned anywhere?
  25. Actually I'd like to think Leviathan started the massive sign trend. Also, a bit ahead of their time, both Intimidator projects incorporated rather large entrance plazas. Photo courtesy rollin_n_coastin on Theme Park Review.
