I almost feel like Six Flags Magic Mountain deserves a spot in the top 10 just for their coasters alone, but that would probably responded with the hackneyed cliche people use to mock SFMM being inferior to CP: "quality over quantity". Sure, a few of Magic Mountain's coasters are gimmicky but just look all the quality coasters they have. I mean come on. Tatsu, Scream!, Batman, Goliath, X2, Apocalypse, heck even Riddler's Revenge. Are those not all quality coasters that could maybe rival with Cedar Point's lineup? Note that I don't what the overall atmosphere is like at Magic Mountain since I have never been (but want to). Let's just say a lot of the things I hear it seem to be Six Flags-type exaggerations, but that's just me...I don't really know for sure. The certain SIX park I went to in 2011 was a fantastic time...

I find it somewhat interesting.... Yes, most of the award winners are repeated, but Best New Ride is interesting to see as well as how the Top 50 Steel & Wood categories shake up each year... Although these 2 probably aren't going win #1 steel and wood, go Bizarro and El Toro!

The summer season of KI is already over yet I've only made 4 visits not including Media Day. I've got some serious riding to catch up on during the rainy Fridays and Sundays of September, October, and November...

Station hangers. People who who just stand there blocking the entrance into the station even though several rows are available for them to proceed to. At least get out of the way so others can enter the station...

Yeah I would have no problem RMC'ing Mean Streak and advertising it as a "new" ride, because in nearly all aspects of ride experience it WOULD be a completely new ride. In fact, I can't think of any coaster built from the ground up that I would rather have more than a new RMC, built from scratch or not. I've yet to go on one, but they look incredible and I hear nothing but great things about them. Is Iron Rattler at all that similar to Rattler? New Texas Giant to Texas Giant? Medusa Steel Coaster to Medusa? From what I've heard about them, hardly.

I look forward to this every year.

$24,000,000 as well as future investments have to come from some where.... Product placement is the one of the few things that doesn't seem to irk me compared to the average enthusiast. As long as The Beast remains without advertisement and the only thing it's promoting is itself, then you can pretty much stick anything anywhere...I'm just in it for the coasters, and ads like those are what helps bring more of them....

This whole thing just looks absolutely incredible for Carowinds. The layout is very imaginative and it seems to deviate from Intimidator a lot more than Leviathan does from Behemoth... And I LOVE the paint on the underside.... Seeing this happen for Carowinds makes me more confident that we might get a giga next time it's our turn for a coaster...

This is the exact reason why this situation is actually not a pet peeve of mine, like, AT ALL. Most likely, you'll get on the ride at the exact same time as them moving up right away...(unless they're next in line to move into the station)

Quality trip report Ride On_17! A pleasure to read... Glad you enjoyed your day. But man, those were some pretty strange occurrences that you came across, and all in the same day too! The one with the lady profanely screaming at her husband/ex-husband/bf/ex-bf on Millennium reminds me of the time I overheard a lady scream on her cellphone at KI to someone: "Watch your effin language!!"

I had a blast at my first CoasterMania! Got in plenty of rides on Magnum, Millennium Force, and Maverick especially (a good portion of them being front-row night rides!). Also rode Gemini, WT, Raptor, Gatekeeper, Mine Ride, Antique Cars, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Power Tower, Shoot the Rapids, Sky Ride, Skyhawk throughout the course of the day. Took lots of great photos also. This is one is just scratching the surface: A special thanks to Cedar Point and management for putting on this wonderful event each year. Everything from the gourmet lunch, to the free merchandise (all things they did not HAVE to do for us), I thank them very much for.

Hmmm.Ask the Coastermania people how much they liked their Top Thrill Dragster rides yesterday. Wee...

Thank GOODNESS this didn't happen the morning of CoasterMania!... For all those who attended yesterday, we dodged a bullet.

^Cups of water were attached to sides of the cars. People with the least amount of water when they came back were eliminated... I'm not sure exactly how the whole contest was carried out, but all I know is that 200 or so people participated, 10 people walked away winning Platinum passes, and it was't over until 11:30 am, as it probably too a long time to narrow the down the winners... EDIT: Fixed

Will be at the registration by 7 am tomorrow, wearing cargo shorts and Maverick shirt.
