Email Newsletter from Wrong Park causes Confusion
I've signed up for both the Kings Island and Dominion newsletters since 2004. I got the KD one because I was planning a trip there, which I took in May '04. Fotunately, I got my season pass last fall.

*VIDEO* Fox 19 Goes behind the Scenes of The Beast
I saw Don and his daughter in the park tonight, near Nickelodeon Universe and Rivertown. I saw the preview of what they will do, Sheila Gray will get the chance to walk up the track of The Beast. I'll try to tune in between 4:30 and 9:00 am, but I've lately been a late waker-upper.

The Maiden Voyage
The Voyage is hard for me to describe as well. As many as 50 rides, or as few as 5 - it is intense, but not rough (as of yet). I'm more of a fan of the vertical parts than the laterals, so my favorite part of the ride must be from the first drop until the turnaround. Crews were still putting together the wood portions of the tunnels as we rode on Thursday morning!

The Maiden Voyage
what?? did you upload from a blackberry device?? No, the motel I'm staying in has high speed internet. I ended the day with 50 rides. Come down here sometime and ride the Voyage!

The Maiden Voyage
Checking in now from southern Indiana... as an invitee to Media Day, I already have 30 rides in the book, and the day's ride time has yet to be concluded! This must be the best airtime woodie ever built! More later...

Pictures of Son of Beast
Well they're not doing us curious folk any good there so I thought I'd take the liberty upon my visit down from Calgary: Notice the two men working: Photograph taken Saturday, April the twenty-ninth, two thousand and six after death from the exit pathway of Top Gun. ALL PRAISE THE KING! Or has Bigfoot been spotted at a Mason, Ohio theme park?!

TR: BGW / Myrtle Beach / SFoG Goliath **LONG**
If I'm paying $15 to park, $40-$50 to get in, and $10 for pizza and drink, I sure hope the park is well-staffed. I hope the new potential owners of KI staff the place better - they could use greeters at ride entrances to speed up loading (a.k.a. height check in advance). Nothing pains me more to pay a lot for a light meal, and to have to wait for one unenthused employee to run the cash register for a long line of people. Six Flags parks are turning the corner - my visits to Kentucky Kingdom and St. Louis have shown they're dedicated to improving the guest experience. For the most part, coasters running multiple trains, plus restroom attendants, clean pathways, and downright friendly employees. Hell, I saw a cleaning staff at SFStL doing a cheering routine! The new Bugs Bunny National Park (kids area) was nice. I wish I could make it down to SFOG soon for Goliath and much more...

4/29 Visit
Wow! New 3 PM Special?!

4/29 Visit
It was nice running into you, Toddler Chef and Mrs. Chef at Eiffel Tower today, while hanging out with Robbie (CoastersRZ). We pretty much did everything once, other than Top Gun, Avatar (which was broken down) and Fairly Odd Coaster. With the light attendance, I could have stayed even longer and done multiple rides, but I was getting a little tired, and hungry, not wanting to eat in the park (though I did stop at Graeter's).

Ticket Booths Demolished
Self-confirmed, by me this morning. The area where the booths stood is now marked with tan-colored concrete. A few pictures will be posted later.

In Park Dining Planing Survey from Paramount Parks
If they do the buffet like Cedar Point has at their Midway Market, it would be great. $10 to $15, depending on the time of day and point in the season. It's definitely a great deal, especially when compared to other meals in the park, although the prices have been reduced for 2006 there. $10 for two slices of skimpy pizza (good flavor though) and a drink? Buffet me! Another good part of the survey is the season pass prices and whether to include the water park. I think passes should be at least $100, including the water park - higher gate prices, lower food prices, that's my plan.

FOF stay or go ?
Although it's not one of my favorites, and it's a pain in the ass to load and for me to get into, I'd keep it, but possibly with a retheme.

Ticket Booths Demolished
According to a friend who drove by the park yesterday (Wednesday), the ticket booths between the metal detectors and the main turnstiles have been torn down. Can anyone confirm this? Since they now have signage outside the metal detectors directing unticketed guests to go to the Season Pass Sales windows for tickets, this shouldn't be a total surprise.

this is a bit strange...
I bring my iPod nano with me all the time... but I never use it while on the rides. Except at the Eiffel Tower - I play it when I'm up there, AND when riding the elevator.

Viacom Weighs China Park
That would be insane if Viacom ends up buying the parks from CBS. What a waste of time!

Park Maps Not Dated This Year?
Cost-cutting? Yes, but in the 90s, they generally inserted sheets/booklets printed on color paper that contained show guides and other info, such as season passes on sale.

2007
CoastersRZ raises a good point. Coney Mall definitely needs a facelift - I'd like to see them give it some of the look, colors, and style the main midway Coney Island had in the 1960s. There is some under-utilized space throughout the area, some new flats could go in, and the Dodgems could move back into the building where they once were (next to Scrambler).

How was PKI 4/22.
I spent most of the day at the park, from open to close, but taking off in between for the UC Spring Football game. I had the ACE Walkback at 9:45, and got the chance to do most everything. I did Delirium after an estimated 30 minute wait, my first ride on it this year. I didn't get to ride Face/Off or Drop Zone, but knowing that they broke down today, I didn't miss much. I ended up closing the day on the last train on Beast tonight, as I had the first Beast train of the day as well. I rode Avatar again, and was in line with people wondering "What's this doing in the Kids' area?" Also, got to see the Azul trains and Blue's Skiddoo completed. I'd be shocked if PKI didn't get the award for best Kids area this year. Overall, things are still good at PKI - in many ways, it doesn't feel like a park that's for sale. Yes, the "No Entry 'til 10" way sucks, and no SOB or Train is also a downer, but not too much else is different from before.

Nick Lachey worked at PKI
I believe it was Carmen Electra that attended Princeton, but I might remember that both of them are graduates of Cincinnati's School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) - not affiliated with the SPCA. And for full disclosure, I am a 2000 graduate of Princeton High School...

PKI Staff
I don't know when PKI got a breast crew, but how do you join? Sounds like the job for me! I am SO heading to PKI first thing Saturday!!

~Ride Count 2006~
I keep my track record, all coasters, all parks, since 2005, here: http://www.gregleg.com/coastershrine/viewT...d.php?userID=59 No, this list does NOT include flat rides, towers, or transport rides. So far, The Beast is the single coaster I have ridden most, 74 times since 2005. The Racer, combined, 104.

TR: 4/17/06
Agreed - when Boomerang Bay isn't open, the admisson should be $15-$20 less than in "regular season." Some parks, like Dorney, I remember having lower gate prices when Wildwater Kingddom wasn't open - maybe Geauga Lake did this too. Yeah, though if a passholder has multiple disappointing visits, this may hurt them as well. I've had some downright disgusting days, but I keep coming back, and have a nice time most visits. Of course, not all passholers live in the greater Cincinnati area - some live 2 or more hours away, and only visit 2-3 times...
