  1. SMURFS!!!! I LOVED the Smurfs! The ride was great and I always tried to find Papa Smurf and the others after I got off the ride. Those were the days...
  2. Hmm... more of PKI using "exclusive" and "only" a little too much. Just to let you know, if the times do overlap, they might close down park of the park, like AZ, and start letting in the Gold Pass holders while the rest of the park is being closed so it can reopen to gold pass holders. I have no idea if this is what will happen, but that is what went on in the past when two events overlapped.
  3. Just to let you know, Saturday will be just like any other Saturday in the park... the kids in the music festival have competitions and stuff off property, some perform at PKI and some of the awards are in Timberwolf and the picnic grove. If you don't want to wait in long lines, never come on a nice day during the weekends.
  4. SOM_Tom, which ride? I don't go into TR unless I am called to do so and I didn't get a chance to go into FoF, everytime I tried I would get a call. I was in FoF twice, and just for a minute or two and saw someone coming out of the saucer door... but I didn't catch a name or anything... tall skinny guy, short dark hair. I also had to move an electric scooter out of the way of that door, someone parked it there and the ride people didn't see it to move.
  5. Sorry for this being so long! Okay, I finnaly got in and I must admit, I got a littler teary-eyed. I miss the good old KI of the past, with all of the trees and the many now classic, out-dated characters. There are a few things I miss, like all the trees surounding Racer. I don't remember the floral thermometer, but that probably didn't last long anyway. The big hanging floral basket we still have, but I belive has been moved next to the Carrousel. I remember seeing the floral Liberty Bell, and I think that too is next to the Carrousel. I really miss the clown band, they really should bring that back! Whatever happened with the lights on International Street? I don't think we've had them lit up like that for a while... unless I'm just so used to seeing it that I don't think they have it, I'll pay more attention next time I close the park. I also think they should bring back the Skyride. That would be nice to have again, it would let guests sit back and relax and see the park and the area without being in the tower or on the hill of ride. PKI needs to bring back more landscaping and should have the old feel again, it's getting too modern. Rivertown and Coney really should be about the past and it should be themed that way more. Employees should look the part as well. PKI needs a place for it's own history as well. They could have a scale model of the park, then and now, and have pictures and stuff from a long time ago. They already have news paper clippings of the older rides and stuff up in IR. Bring in what the new innovations are in the park, like the launch for FoF, The Beast and SOB, TR and Delerium. Ride videos could be played as well, like they do for Discovery and Travle channels, and make it something where people can experience the rides if they can't... we have some great projection technology that could be used to that with to make it seem like you are riding the ride.
  6. Not yet, I haven't been looking for it either. Someone said it tasted like an orange cream sickle.
  7. RiotGrl, did anyone call security for the problems in FoF? I ususally try to go into the hanger when the line is long and I always watch for line jumping, but if no one tells us anything, we can't help out. If guests are giving you guys problems, let us know so we can handle it, that's what we get paid for. Oh, you should know by now that some people just don't know how to behave... it only takes one person to start a problem. Call security if guests are giving you problems... and ride ops don't have to let people ride if there are compalints about line jumping with them. A ride op can call security to ask to check it out and a ride op, I'm pretty sure, can keep the guests from riding until security talks to them. The only problem with line jumping is that security has to have other guests point out the people, and it helps to have more than just one or two doing that. Most of the time guests are more than willing to let us know who did what, but sometimes they just won't help us out, so we can't help them.
  8. Your right about the Flavor paks, but I think they are only temporary... and kind of acting as a test for which flavor sells the most so they can start mass producing them.
  9. The person the life gaurd chair isn't security. Actually, I have no idea what deparment they come from... odds are admissions or GR. Maybe entertainment? Some of them are really cool and funny, who knows? The weather was really bad, and there was a funnel cloud in the sky during the worst of it, employees were trying to get people inside as fast as possible, but I guess some guests don't listen. Strange thing is, I don't remember Mason's sirens going off when the cloud came over... oh well. I didn't hear reports of anyone blowing away, so all is well!
  10. No rain on Sunday! I didn't get drenched! Oh, and no rain today! I didn't get drenched! Wow, I'm on a roll. It hasn't rained once since I have been in the park this year, I hope I keep that up! I love that new Sprite, tastes like liquid skittles! Coke is supposed to release a cherry sprite sometime soon.
  11. Jessica who? 98*? I have no idea who you are talking about...
  12. Wow, that site got popular fast, it won't let me! "The Tripod page you are trying to reach has exceeded its hourly bandwidth limit. The site will be available again in 1 hour! "
  13. lol I have no idea what you are talking about SOM_TOM about the ride lines. I saw the que in almost every line (major rides, like Beast, SOB, TR, F/O, Delerium) filled and with about a 2 hour wait, or more... like Delerium for a while was filled in the que and wrapped around towards Action Blast. I did notice, however, that the lines didn't stay that crowded for long, maybe for an hour or so, then it died back down again. You are right about the lines being almost walk on at the end of the night... I wonder what scarred everyone away? Too windy, too cold? Still, people behaved themselves... so I was pretty bored that day. I gid get to meet Stx_bomber, however. and I got to say hi to Return_of_Yogi... I'll just have to call him RoY from now on (lame, I know... but give me a break!) I hope he got some more work done on his project.
  14. Wow, I'm glad I wasn't there tonight... I did, however, get to sleep in till 10 after a long night at Grad Night and I helped my grandpa with his computer and then I went out for lunch and went to the Reds game. That was nice, even though they lost. I do get to work all day tomorrow (well, today, since it is 12:19am Sunday morning) so I'm sure I will get my chance to be soaked in the rain.
  15. matt, why are we fighting about smoking? lol Anyway, to get back on topic, Grad Night is just another day that could be worked out so that it would be better. Everything that went on that night was handled well, although I still wish people would just leave that crap outside and not bring it into the park. Maybe KI can do something to make sure only Seniors get in... like make all of them come on school buses with teachers attending them. Or they can make it so that all the tickets are given out to the schools only, and you can't buy them at the door and the tickets would have to have a school stamp on it. Maybe actually showing a school ID, even with a ticket, at the door would help. I don't know... but it seems to me that the problems we had might not have happened if we could have screened those guests out better at the door.
  16. You will have to ask PR or marketing if you can make your own footage. If it's for a school project it will help a lot to have your Prof. write a letter on school letterhead and include contact information as proof for a school project. Cam corders are okay in the park as long as you don't take them on a ride... like sobrider said, however, the park might have fotage you can use already, just ask. If they don't, and you want to make your own, you will have to go through marketing most likely... Jeff will probably walk around with you, or someone else from that department. They had some people there the other day from Miami University (Oxford) filming for school news thing.
  17. You are so lucky you didn't stick around. We had a very bad night!
  18. Um... I don't watch Survivor... who else doesn't? Now, CSI right after Survivor I watch! I also try to make it a point to watch West Wing...
  19. I'm glad you had fun... I'm just happy everyone got home alive and not hurt! Why a few people can ruin a night for the rest of us is beyond me. Personally, the park should have been closed early... that would have saved us a lot of trouble. I really think they need to get rid of Grad Night, then we wouldn't have to deal with any of the problems we had tonight!
  20. I work all day as well... 12 hours in fact. I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot of you. Do you really think it will be that busy? I mean, it is going to be raining and it is Mother's Day... Wishfull thinking, I guess.
  21. Wow, everyone loves FoF! I just can't like it that much. The VIPs seemed to love it when they were there, and Jeff even rode it and had a blast. I just can't like it... So, in that case, what would I like? Drop Zone first and formost... the funny thing is that I hate hieghts, but it's not too bad once you get up there. Another ride would probably be Beast. Log Flume would be up there was well, but I would have to get rid of the Thornberry's theme to it.
  22. Too true coasterdime, too true. People were on cell phones calling friends about it, we had some people follow us all over the park. It was pretty funny.
  23. He is one of the ops managers... he would interested in the fact that we are talking about him online, and above Jessica Simpson of all people!
  24. Wow, that looks so uncomfortable! I feel sorry for who ever has to be Patrick Star. If I were a kid I would run away screaming!
  25. lol If you lasted 8 years you should be willing to add in some more... you know, make it a career, have your own office and desk.
