  1. I could be wrong. I have never seen a walkback everyday... that could just be b/c there aren't any ACErs to walk back at all? I guess if we had some ACErs everyday that they would be allowed to walk back... again, just check with GR when you get to the park and ask them.
  2. There are rods at the top of each hill. You can miss them easily b/c they aren't very big and I belive are ontop of the "Do not stand" sign or on each side of the hill... just give it a look. All the big rides have rods and so do all the buildings (well, at least on IS). I'm surpised no one has mentioned the smoke in Coney Skeeball! I guess one of the games went hay wire and started to smoke. No fire or anything, we just unplugged the game and fire/saftey checked everything out.
  3. IR is just a bad place to be... We were checking it one rainy night and we came across an opened closet door, so we closed it. On our way back, there was water coming out from under the door, so we opened it up thinking that there was a leak from the rain. No leak! The roof access door had been opened and rain was just pouring in! Needless to say, I hate IR. We knew for a fact that there was no one else in the park and no one else that would have keys to IR if they were. How would someone get into the closet and open that roof access? Why would someone be on top of IR to begin with, and in the rain no less?
  4. The Beast did get struck but our fire/saftey crew checked it out shortly afterwards and found that everything was okay... i.e. the ride wasn't burning down. The Tower did get hit, some people thought it was Delirium from the angle they saw it from, but it was the Tower. As of our Com. Center, I don't know of any problems. Our radios were working just fine and everything seemed to do well. They did close one channel though, and that could be from the Tower being struck. Someone said they were suprised the small rides were still open... we keep the small ones open unless we get some pretty heavy rains. They did shut pretty much everything down when we got hit really hard, but reopened the flats shortly after. The coaster always shut down when there is lightning in the area and will not reopen untill we deem it safe to do so. After a storm like that though, they have to do a ton of checks on the rides and they can take some time to do, I belive 20+ minutes.
  5. I will be at the Weird Al concert working... I told them they had to work me otherwise I would haev to find some other way to get backstage! I can't wait for that concert! Aaron Carter is going to be a pain in the ass... it was a bad time last year and it will be a bad time this year too.
  6. Um, ACE walkbacks are not everyday. Also, you have to meet at he stone. I had some people come up to me the other day at my rope wanting to get in for The Beast walkback and I wouldn't let them in. They have to be escourted by marketing or GR to get back to the walkback. If you think you have missed the walkback, go to GR under the frontgate and they will be able to help you out. Without an ACE card your twin brother won't be able to go back unless there is some other prove that he is an ACE member. ACE walkbacks have gone to SOB, F/O, Beast and Delirium before, but most of the time it is just for Beast.
  7. Thanks for the info, I know they weren't sure when it would come out when they were there. I'll look for my self, I would be interested to see if I can find myself in it although I doubt it!
  8. RIPcobra, let me suggest that you READ the other forum posts before posting again, you seem to bring up topics that are already in the forums that answer your questions or that you can add too... just try reading through the forums first before posting again. If you actually do see a new topic (though hard to belive) than post it, in the right area of the forums.
  9. I think the park is haunted... I've been in it plenty of times after dark and past midnight and there are places where I won't go. I have never heard about a ghost at The Racer untill I got on these forums and started talking about it a long time ago. I do belive there is something there because I was driving through the access road at 2am or so one night during an off season when I knew there was only a handfull of people in the park (non of which were at all related to rides or know how to operate or turn on the rides) when I was driving past The Racer I had to get out and check something and the alarms were going off in the station. I looked over and the lights were on the control panel. Later that night I went into the station and everything was okay, but as soon as I was off the exit, the the controls came on and beeped again. I will not go up The Racer late at night again! I have also heard many stories about The Beast, and the hauntings there. Let's just say I hate being around lift two or the second hill at all during the night. I just get strange feelings. The cables from the Tower after the Tower John incident are kepted back there and I have a feeling the ghost is Tower John. Who knows, maybe he was wearing a hat when he had his mishap? I haven't heard or seen anything myself of the little girl, but I have felt really creaped out when I'm at the WWC station at night by myself. It's just a feeling of someone else there and you really want to finish what you are doing and run out of there fast. IR and the Paramount Theater are also really strange places at night. I think that is just more my imagination than anything else. I really, really HATE Top Gun at night. I get so creaped out there more than anywhere else (except The Racer) because it's pitch black and I have to climb some stairs and I hear and see things that are just strange while I'm there... I'm just really uncomfortable there at night.
  10. Sounds like you had some fun... F/O shut down this morning with people on it as it was coming back into the station after the ride, so you lucked out. Beast will close at 8pm tomorrow night and Saturday night and will not reopen for the rest of the evening, so I'm glad you got a good night ride in while you could. 4 Clicks! I would have been in so much pain! One will do just fine for anyride really, and if they are that paranoid about it they would put restraints like TR and Delirium where they push down automatically even after the clicks. I would have complained about 4 clicks though, that could actually hurt rather than help save you.
  11. I was close to telling someone to move away from the Land Rover, but the person never got in it... I hope your stunt didn't give anyone ideas that they can just sit in it when they want! That's the real deal and I really don't think I want to see someone try and drive it away... not like they would get far anyway!
  12. Actually, you don't have to be anywhere near PKI to see the fireworks show. You can go to the Churches on Mason-Montgomery Road, or the Mason High school or Middle School parking lots. Heck, just find any place in Mason where you can see the Tower and you will have a great seat without the crowd. The Tower is shut down till after the 5th so they can put up the fireworks. During the show we will shut down Rivertown and probably the back part of Coney Mall and the front and sides of the tower will be closed as well.

I have never ridden a pay ride... and most people seem to ride them when they are cheap, like Sling Shot being 15 instead of 25 like normal. They lowered the price of Xtream Skyflyer, and it seems more people are willing to ride it now. I need to ride Sling Shot one of these days...
  14. Maybe they can add in that hotel we've been talking about? That would be a really great (and smart) idea on their part!
  15. It sounds like you are refering to the small lot between the main lot and the employee lot. It's a long lot with spots on just one side, and you get into that lot from the main lot by driving through the open gates or from Post 3's side. That lot is the V.I.P. lot, usually reserved for family memebers of full timers or special guests that don't have clerance into the Admin lot.
  16. Your the one that Italian Chef introduced to me, aren't you? I belive you are... Oh, and those "killer parking spots" you mentioned were in the handicap area of the parking lot. We didn't ticket you guys for parking there that day, of course, b/c we pretty much told you to park next to post 3 and those are the most convienent spots for that.
  17. Ahh, better. I tried to talk to everyone that day, so I probably did talk with your dad. I was suprised to find so many families involved in the filming. There were brothers there, one riding TR and the other on Delirium. It was pretty interesting.
  18. Maintenance was a factor, but the one big thing I keep hearing about KC was that it was suffering from metal fatigue. That's probably why no one has bought it yet.
  19. I'm suprised no one has heard of stuff like that in the photo boths... that's why I always try and check them when I go by. As if trowing the book at them, since we are in Mason, it would be up to the Mason court to do that and the prosecution. Odds are it was something like a fine and probation. I highly doubt jail time. I'm sure someone can look it up, it is public informaiton unless it was sealed for some odd reason.

Now one died on Sky Lab, the lady fell out of Flight Commander. Euro Bungy is where Flight Commander was at. I was too young to remember most of the park, but I do remember the Smurfs and seeing all the characters. I also remember the Star Trek people. I LOVE ST and I really wanted to work in the park as an ST character, like a Klingon or just a normal human character. I really miss them! I also remember the safari but the air conditioned monorail was more fasinating. I always wanted to know how it worked.
  21. I'm a little lost... I was "talking to my bold day"? If you were at the TR:TR shoot, I would usually go around italianchef to say hi. He introduced me to someone on these forums but I honestly can't remember who it was...
  22. I'm not sure if you are familiar with the Little Miami River, but the park's property goes all the way back to it. You can hear the guests in the park if you are walking on the bike trail that's by the Powder Factory in fact. The park right now is only 360 some acres, but we own a little less than 700 acres.
  23. PKI does have PDA rules although I'm actually not sure where you can read them at. I know that security will enforce the rules... especially when guests start to complain... but when we are walking around the park and see heavy petting or what have you, we will tell them to stop. Most officers have pretty strict morals anyway and none of us want to see it in the park, so we do our best. We can't be everywhere, though, so we can't catch everything... it's just not possible. That's why we always appriciate it when other employees ask them to stop, or when guests ask other guests not to do it.
  24. I was the officer that was driving back and forth between Delirium and TR:TR.
  25. YEAH! The fun starts very eary for the riders, tolls opening at 6am and the riders meeting at Security post 3 so they can be escourted into the park, I belive around 6:30. They are filming BOTH rides, so I will be travleing between both of them. The shooting should end by 10am before the park is opened to the public. If you are going to go, you are not allowed anywhere in the park without an escourt and you have to be on International Street by 10am or earlier unless they are not done shooting. I'm sure you will hear it all again tomorrow, so I will see you all there. Just ask me if I'm on the PKIU forums and I will be glad to introduce myself as DragonLord.
