  1. That leaves space for something else.
  2. We will soon see verrrry tall ladders nearby it.
  3. The rationale to some is that the four dollar drink is not really four dollars, because the money one is spending now is being put towards the free drink. Also, like the Starbucks card, where you get a free drink after so many purchases, the 'free' value equals four dollars.
  4. Thanks for sharing. It's really going down much quicker than I thought it would.
  5. Ok, I can see the African animals fitting into a holiday theme, but teacups? What? Celebrate Dec 16? (I so have to go there someday, it looks like a great park.)
  6. With the changes that Ouimet has made, I'll be honest and say that I'm a little excited to see what changes, if any, are coming to the park. The words "Family friendly" keep coming back to me. I'd like to see more variance in ride experiences in the future, not just big monstrous thrill rides. I'd like to see the park become more than just a drop off point for teens. Small changes he's made so far has had a big influence on the atmosphere of the park. I'm really curious over what will happen off season.
  7. Thank you. This isn't the video, and to be honest, I've never heard the song. The guy in the red jumpsuit looks like an early Adam and the Ants reject, as if he watched "Road Warrior" once too often and then added some colorful eighties flare. It's really corny looking.
  8. I'm not appreciating that as much as I should. The Funperk option shows up after the sale, so the option to purchase items that would add to our funperk bundle is taken out of our hands, and also, the decision of using the funperk option lay in the hands of a sales clerk, who might be off work in five minutes, and may not want to deal with the hassle. Sales clerks are in their teens, have active lives, and sometimes don't feel that swiping a card is that important. I am at the park to have fun. I'm not some rapid coupon cutter, I'm not going to waste my precious KI time fiddling with going over receipts as the fun passes me by. I'm going to be honest about my time at the park- I have an issue in which I become exhausted easily. I have a pass so I can go to the park for a few hours at at time before I wipe out. I want my adrenaline, I want it now, I paid for it. I'm there for a short time, and I'm going to utilize that time. Paperwork is for a dull night at home after work. CF set up the funperks program. If Cf wants to implement this program, and truly make it what they deem it to be, they are going to have to work at it, not me. My going over my receipts in the park just means more paper for their crews to clean up, because I would have to do it on the lift hill of The Beast. At the crest of the hill, I assure you, the wind will take the receipts and flutter them down into the trees below. edited to add: Husband suggested a swipe of the pass in purchases whether or not the shop is participating in FP. If CF is interested in the spending habits of pass holders, then every expenditure leads to a better understanding.
  9. Every time I'm in Diamondback's queue, I see this video on tv, it seems to be a guy on a boat, wearing some sort of atrocious red jumpsuit, football shoulder pads, and is surrounded by equally dismally dressed persons. What is this video? Why is it always playing in DB's Queue?
  10. Are there 'funperks' stickers on the cash registers and windows of the stores that are part of the program? If there are, I hadn't seen any. Reminders to use your pass in redeeming fun perks might help. Also, revealing the magic formula might be helpful.
  11. Exactly what I thought when I saw the photo: "He's gone to meet Big Butter Jesus."
  12. It didn't exist for me. I shop at KI, but funperk wise, I was personna non grata. Honestly, it wasn't worth the hassle of what the rewards were to be petty over points. I didn't know which restuarants were excluded, what goods were included, and it wasn't worth my time nor an employee's time to find out if I 'won' a free drink. I'm not going to sit and peruse over my reciepts in the park and worry about saving a buck. I'm certainly not going to harangue a cashier in a store about points.
  13. Tonight's out, it's too rainy. It would be miserable for us and the roamers. Not to hep on going towards the end of the Haunt, but have no choice, October weekends are always full up for me. Hoping the monsters still have some pep and jive. I know the younger ones might poop out, but that's life. I've not had a cowboy snarl at me. Roamers sometimes snarl, but they have to attack with the fast scare so many times.
  14. I've noticed all the exit signs, too, when I go through. The only Haunted House fire I can recall is the Haunted Castle at Six Flags Great Adventure, which was shoddily built from trailers and made of shoddy materials, had only two live monsters, hard to find exits, and so much fencing and rigging it was difficult for the two monsters to save the patrons. There's a lot of exits in KI's Haunts. I've seen them. Plus, the houses have enough monsters in them to help show the way out, I suspect plenty of flashlights, too. The monsters are not segregated from the patrons, nor the exits. I am always aware of my surroundings in the houses, because I don't want to be a jinx and say that there will never be a cause for emergency egress. I just feel more confident that in KI, if there is an emergency egress, the patrons have a better chance of safety
  15. Not to rub it in, but I'll be doing an insane death dance in front of SOB's crumbling corpse.
  16. Sam better not be playing a uke made with body parts when I come through. Singing is enough.
  17. The chain of The Beast as I go up the hill. Carousel. Husband really liked hearing Sinatra and Darin on International Street. People screaming all at once.
  18. The size if the area that SOB took up, there can be an ensemble cast under contract to take his place.
  19. I don't like it. It brings to mind the story of Roosevelt and the bear. It's no fair to shoot a being that's basically stuck there. Paintballs towards human moving targets with no means of retaliation. Seems cowardly to me. Fear, dark, and guns, even paintball guns are not two great things that go great together.
  20. Kid's songs can be creepy. I was at the shooting range, open daylight, in the middle of a beautiful day, and for some reason was singing "Sho Jo Ji", a kid's song my dad taught me. One guy told me if he ever heard that song again, he'd **** himself, because the idea of someone shooting a .45 six shooter and singing a kid's song really creeped him out. Of course, me singing like Gravel Gertie doesn't help. Someone singing "Don't Fence Me In" two years ago in Slaughterhouse scared the hell out of me. I don't care if the chainsaws are fake. So many of us have seen the ending of the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" that the idea of a demented anyone with a chainsaw of any kind is scary. I'm going to have to paraphrase Clapton on this one; It's in the way that you use it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiY9CxzZTj8&feature=related
  21. I had the stupid notion, when I was a kid, that if the Sky Ride at Lesourdesville ever broke, all I'd have to do was stick my legs out in front of me so they wouldn't break, as the ride would act like a football helmet for my butt. No idea of time, space, velocity or gravity at that age. I prefer Ferris wheels to Sky gondolas simply because they feel safer. Besides, a Ferris Wheel can cool a person off on a hot day, and it's an easy time, and you get a nice view. I wish Kings Island would have one, but where to put it where there will be an interesting fun view?
  22. Oh my gosh, where is that?
  23. Did something awful with my foot last weekend at OU's Homecoming, but hoping to fix it by Friday. If not, I'm just going to limp through the park like the monsters.
  24. Yes me too! I miss that, too. I wish they had more of that.
  25. I was told once that it was dairy run off from one of the food vendors, it goes down a drain close to AE. At first I was offended, but now I think I just accept it as the Curse of the Tikis. It's part of the ride. One time there was the added bonus of that smell, and skunk. Someday I'll ride it and it'll smell sweet, then I'll be confused.
