  1. I'd never thought of that, two parks offering different levels of entertainment. I guess I got lost in a cookie cutter theory. That would be a smart way to go, to have both parks have their differences, so close together.
  2. He liked the nightlife, he loved to boogie. (SCTV reference.)
  3. In plane sight, huh?
  4. Thank you. That does sound about right, Even if the open park days were sketchy.
  5. About once every ten days. I'll leave the math to the geniuses.
  6. Zipper lighters are boss for all. Never know when that camping trip might come up, and you need a firestarter.
  7. I love Zippo lighters. I'll keep my eye out for KI lighters for you just in case. My prize Zippo is one from Jon Kricfalusi, featuring his character "Sody Pop".
  8. I didn't mind the eyeballs in the trees, I guess because I looked at the decorator's point of view, "We need something cheap and expansive to cover this area. Look! Inflatable eyeballs!" What would you prefer? Aqua and purple lights in the trees? Gauze doctored to look like moss? What would make you walk down that way? I liked last year's Haunt a lot, my own problem was my guests getting scared and running out of line for the mazes. Mysteria is a flopparoonie, but at least they are trying different concepts besides buckets of blood. For me, Club Blood is feeling old, and I miss the Work Crew.
  9. I wouldn't be swayed to ride it. It really doesn't look like a great ride experience.

I like it that they are more engaging. I like to be able to point at a picture and say, "Hey, I know who that guy is."
  11. Thank you. I can only answer to the day I was there.
  12. I've perused this whole thread quite a few times trying to pick up anything at all. All I found out is that the Disney Dinosaur ride is boss, and I'd like to ride it, though I'm frightened by anything with big teeth.
  13. I cant agree with you more. I used to LOVE seeing the Klingons walking around the park when I was younger. I met Optimus Prime coming out of the employee break room once. The Transformers had a tough job, because they could talk, that meant they had to know Everything! about the Transformers.
  14. Well.... not quite. While Scooby Doo (the coaster, aka Beastie, aka Fairly Odd Coaster, aka Woodstock Express) can be seen in the background, Mrs. Brady is not standing in Hanna-Barabera Land. She's standing in a behind the scenes area, specifically right in front of the Administration Building. That building is also where they shot the boardroom scene, in which Mike pulls the Yogi poster from the tube. What I find interesting (along with the running scenes that you pointed out make no sense if you know the layout of the park), is that when they're running through the park, it's sunny, but when they're in front of Admin handing the plans over to the executives, it's raining. You can't really tell by looking at the actors, but the ground is wet, you can see some raindrops to the sides of the frame, and there are a few rather large raindrops that pass right in front of the camera lens. I love that I have this episode (ok, ok, I admit... I have all 5 seasons!) on DVD, and The Partridge Family episode on VHS so I can watch them anytime I want. It rained for about an hour that day around 1 o'clock. We ducked under the canopy of one of those car rides that are no longer there. edit to add: it rained for an hour on the day I was there.
  15. I love how on the website it says "you'd never know by looking at it, but Woodstock Gliders is over 70 years old!" I want to say "you'd never know by looking at it, but that ride belongs to Kings Island!" I would gladly trade BLSC (formerly Italian Job:SC) to Carowinds in exchange for the Flying Eagles to make a return flight to KI. BLSC's current theming is a shell of it's former self, which was rather questionable to begin with imo. I mean rusted shipment crates, and concrete/gravel really? I can stay home in Dayton and still get that experience. Also if the money is going to be spent on keeping the pyrotechnics operating, I feel it should have more of a stage to be observed and admired, rather than being atleast partially concealed. It's been stated that Action Zone seemed the more appropriate location for this attraction, and I would have to agree. NOW years later, and it appears the much wiser decision would have been to leave the area untouched with the Antique Cars and Flying Eagles Maybe BLSC can be rethemed and billed as a new attraction for Carowinds? After seeing the original film of "Italian Job", I'd like the theming from the Michael Caine movie. Hollywood is so overdone and lazy. And Terp, one of the highlights of my visit to KI is going through the kid's section, and seeing the dad's with their kids on the rides. It starts the park for me, takes me back to my dad and I on "Scooby Doo." I didn't know Don was 'winsome'.
  16. Haw! I like that they have this adult in the kiddy ride on the webpage. Couldn't they find a photo of winsome children? Edit: That's Don looking so pensively into the middle distance as if he were Columbus discovering a new world in his Woodstock Glider? More Haw.
  17. Thanks! I never got to see that part of it. To be honest, I didn't know where the ride was until I sat down for a rest one day, looked across, and there it was.
  18. I love goetta! That would be a great addition, especially since there's a strong connection with Cincinnati. Terp is driving me crazy with his wording- "Plane' and 'carry on' and his posting in the Stuntcar thread that's been dead since 2005. My mind is racing with the guessing.
  19. Well, Stuntcar would fit better theme wise in the Action Zone, but with all of the changes, will it still be the Action Zone?
  20. I'm not going to name any names, but when my brother's class had their 8th grade trip to KI, one kid's parents were so strict, they wouldn't allow him to go, because school was for studying, not trips and fun. We all liked him, he was a great person, and the smartest kid in school. The eighth grade homeroom teacher took him anyway, he went to the park still in his school uniform, and at three o'clock, the teacher and he left in time for him to be back at the school for his parents to pick up. From what I understood, the parents never found out. I learned something important from him that day. The other kids were staying til the fireworks, but he had to leave early. They asked if that bothered him. He said it didn't, that you enjoy things more when you know you have a limited amount of time. I live by that credo.
  21. That, too. It's like they double teamed.
  22. If it's going, I'm glad of it. It was in my way last Halloween.

Special events has got my attention- thanks.
  24. Are we getting back our old fashioned spinny rides like The Screaming Eagle planes, Terpy?
