Son of Beast roller coaster to be removed
^ I think that would be very cool. But, I dont think they want to make a scene at all. But is the coaster and its trains even in a good enough shape to be ran? Its been 3 years of just sitting there. But I dont know... just a theroy Thats true. But, you mentioned making a scene about Son of Beast. I agree with you about that but KIPR and Greg posted pictures of the demolition on Twitter. I would think that would get more publicity than just running a train though one more time. The most concerning factor is probably the trains. I think they have been sitting in this dirt patch since 2010. The thing with the trains, they're no longer there. They were removed about a month and a half ago, as stated by KingsIslandPR (Don) here on the forums.

Inside Final Building Backlot Stunt Coaster
See the long "building" in the middle of the picture, and the building behind the billboard. Those would be where the tunnels are located, if that's part of your question, if not, hey there's some info! Everything that GYK said about the track is 99% correct. The other 1% is, that sometimes the lights on in the tunnels is alright

Favorite piece of Kings Island memorabilia
I never have either. I do admit, I've got a piece of lumber from the Legend at Holiday World, but as nuts and bolts, how do you really know if that came from the ride unless you were there when they came off?

Favorite piece of Kings Island memorabilia
While this isn't my favorite piece of memorabilia, I absolutely adore it!

small change
Change the WindSeeker sound track options to more thrilling music rather than classical.

Flight Deck Removal?
I'm with you, I'm so intrigued by the breaks and the lift gear. Not just on Flight Deck. Riding Racer on Monday, I just kept staring at the breaks as they would open and close in the waiting breaks (sitting in the front seat of course).

Possible Ride Station Location?
Isn't flight deck just a nice little walk semi-behind scenes of Son of Beast?

Flight Deck Removal?
Since you are a former employee of Kings Island, you should know that there are no pusher wheels on Flight Deck. In addition, the claim about blocking and Flight Deck's chain is correct. I didn't work on Flight Deck, nor have I looked it completely over. But I did just talk with a former supervisor on FD, and I stand corrected. Either way, didn't seem like the chain could keep up with the train. Haha. In reality, it's all about perception. To me, it could have been a slow lift, to someone else, it could have been a normal one.

Flight Deck Removal?
Understandable for both you Terpy and Browntggrr. Do you guys think the cost would be worth it, when it comes down to it? P.S. Browntggrr love the quote in your signature

Flight Deck Removal?
the first bit can be answered simply, block section. FD has always (in my memory) crawled up the lift hill, till about mid way up the lift. Sort of like The Beast. All about blocks. For the second bit; if I remember correctly Terpy once, twice, thrice even, spoke that parts can always be ordered. Trust me, I know about blocking, as a former ride op at KI, the lift literally was slow as molasses with the 1 train op compared to the 2 train op that is usually going on. However, my original point was that the lift hardly started before the train was all the way on the lift chain. It wasn't like the train got on the lift and then slowed down, it was more of the kicker wheels were sending the train out faster than the chain could get started for the journey upward. It just seemed odd to me that the lift speed didn't pick up until the train was fully on the lift and only having one train operating. FD has 3 blocks, Block A being the lift, Block B being the Brakes and Block C being the station. If both Block B and C were open (which they were) the lift should be at normal speed, as it's not waiting for the block to clear. However, the lift wasn't even at "normal speed" until the train was 3/4 of the way up, at 3/4ths of the way up, something kept squeaking as I stated in my last post fairly loud and long. I've ridden FD hundreds to thousands of times and have never heard or experienced that noise. Who's gonna make them though? I've heard rumblings that S&S Arrow do not make parts for Suspended coasters anymore on a couple other sites. Taking it with a grain of salt, but what happens when they stop? TombRaiderTy I totally forgot about Ninja at SFMM, mainly because I've never ridden it, so yes...4 on the North American continent haha. Don't get me wrong folks, I'd be devastated if Flight Deck left...but I am just saying I don't see it around for much more than 5 years. Just observations.

Interesting Things Ride-Ops Do
The ride operator on WindSeeker yesterday while riding suggested that riders check out Dinosaur's Alive by saying: Make sure you check out Dinosaur's Alive in Coney Mall for a great family adventure. I want to be a T-Rex!"

Flight Deck Removal?
So rode FD twice today. I noticed that on the lift, it literally squeaked a fairly long and loud tone. The lift chain was barely moving, it wasn't until the entire train was on the lift, that the speed picked up. With S&S power taking care of Arrow coasters, I've heard that they've stopped carrying parts for the suspended coasters (as there are 3 on the North American Continent), making it harder for parks to get the parts when the rides go down. It makes me think that within 5 years, we won't have a Flight Deck.

Goodbye my friend
Extremely sad to hear this news. Keith was such a great guy, both in the coaster community and when you got to know him on a more personal level. One of my favorite times with Keith was opening day last year when a group of KIC'ers, Keith and I were walking in the park trying to decide what to ride. We ended up in line for the Crypt when it broke down. We decided to stay in line because the A/C was great. We "tried" to figure out who's fault it was, somehow it got to be Keith's fault. After riding that, we ended up checking out a couple other rides. We finally decided to ride Racer (blue side). An almost full train of KIC members headed up the hill and got stuck 3/4ths of the way up. Who's fault was it? Everyone yelled to Keith, "way to break the ride Keith." He just laughed about it the entire day because it was just his luck that he was with some friends and things kept going down. I look back on that day and it has become one of the most cherished Kings Island visits for me. Keith will truly rest in peace and I'm sure he'll watch over all of us on our crazy coaster trips and throughout our lives. God Bless Keith and his family. RIP buddy!

Worlds/Oceans of Fun 40th Logo
Technically the one that is the 40th Anniversary for Kings Island is just for Kings Island. Whereas this one is the 40th Anniversary for Worlds of Fun.

What should I think?
^^^THIS^^^ To avoid 1 word posting: I agree with Dr. Humor Haha. I can't ever get over people being upset for a ride being down, I pose the question would you rather wait for it to open safely or would you rather ride it, have something go wrong, lose a body part or your life? Usually shuts people up right then and there.

I often think there should be a "Comments Posted to the KIC forums" But haven't seen any good ones on the FB, as you've all covered them.

What should I think?
I apologize for your frustration. Do know that the downtime isn't planned. Do also know, the blue shirts and maintenance aren't located at Beast or any other ride as they go down. The blue shirts, have an entire area to cover, as well as an office they could be located in working on paperwork for training, schedules, etc. Maintenance could be in the shop working on a part for a ride, building a haunt, etc. Needless to say an emergency on your part, doesn't constitute an emergency on the parks part, unless guests are stranded or injured. I'm sure there are numerous people who would say the park should have been urgent on a certain coaster in a partly actionless area, and would love to ride it. However, the park isn't going to allow a rider on a ride until the experience can be determined acceptable. So what to think? Just let it go. If something like this happens again while you are at the park, find a different ride to go to. Go to GR if you don't think the park is operating as fast as you think it should.

I am and you're done. Why was I suspended for saying "Are you serious?" I posted earlier in this thread that I had a problem with the workers at Skyline and I was attacked by some posters for voicing my displeasure. Why weren't they suspended? I never cursed or threatened anyone and I was suspended for giving my opinion on a bad restaurant experience. Creating a 2nd account especially while suspended will lead to being completely banned. I'd go ahead and stop posting....delete your account and wait until your suspension is over before you cause yourself more trouble.

^^^THIS^^^ I'm sorry Bennett, but that's completely uncalled for. Who are you to judge the associates intelligence? I've been in the food industry on and off for the past 5 years. It's not easy. People need to realize that people who are in service jobs don't have it easy. Maybe the worker at Skyline just got yelled at, maybe they received bad news, etc. There's multiple reasons that your service could have been less than anticipated, but never assume it's because they're not the "best and brightest." That's just ignorant. If you really have an issue with an associate, instead of complaining about it on here, go to Guest Services, the message will get passed along and the situation will be monitored.
