  1. I think it will be great once the fountains are upgraded. I hope that they don't paint the bottom black. I hope that they keep the original "relaxing" feel to them, but I also hope that they put on a good show too.
  2. I find KD bizarre that when I was walking on the right side of International Street, I wanted to turn right after being half way (in relation to KI, where the first entrance into Planet Snoopy would be) but I couldn't because that was a backstage area. I thought it was odd that at the half way point on I.S. on the left side you'd hit up Dominator, Berserker and that was basically it. Just not a fan of the layout.
  3. I'd say KI because the atmosphere at KD is totally weird. It's hard to put a finger on it. They layout at KI is much better in my opinion. However, KD has a little bit better of a ride selection.
  4. Not the First Public Riders.....because truly any of the media day riders/G.P./First Ride Auction riders/first riders on Opening Day are not the true first riders...you've got the Manufacturer Reps that have ridden it, park officials who have ridden it, ride hosts who have ridden it, etc. So it's never really "fair."
  5. I never understood, why the park didn't rent out the park the weekend prior to opening.
  6. The signs also remind me of the Son of Beast Premier trains. Anyone else?
  7. I can confirm that WindSeeker in Virginia is operating. Which makes me wonder how much longer for the remainder of the rides to operate.
  8. I know that Mr. Ouimet has said Kings Island is on his "radar." while he was at the plant where Gatekeeper was being built.
  9. Although I find it odd that WindSeeker wasn't open today, as Kings Dominion's is fully operating. Thanks for your update Jdawg
  10. Dan. Lol. However, Don does assist Cedar Point and other parks in their PR/Marketing Departments when asked. I remember he helped break the news about Goldstriker at CGA.
  11. I only voted for Soak City as I've never been to the Beach.
  12. The park has constantly stated that only the current years cups are eligible for refills and the deals. I have a cup from Italian Job Stunt Track, the ride still exists, but does that automatically mean I can re-use it? They great thing about cups, is you can use them at home, you can sell em at yard sales, you can store things in them, you can display them, etc. I wouldn't say they're useless. Guest Relations will tell you that you can only use the current cups for the $1.99 refill.
  13. Including the Thunder Alley area?
  14. I keep forgetting that Kinzel is on the board of directors. Seems like Cedar Fair is in a tight spot, pleasing someone on the board and pleasing someone who is ordered back to work after being "wrongfully terminated."
  15. They possibly may take the Eiffel Tower. In all seriousness, they could possibly take the banner frames in AZ, but we'll cross the bridge of them taking anything from KI when we get there.
  16. Serious question, does the extension have to do with the initial cost being more than thought?
  17. They do? https://www.visitkingsisland.com/rides/Worlds-Best-Kids-Area/Surf-Dog That's the only mention of a roller coaster and Surf Dog together that I can find on the park's site.
  18. Overall, like you said, not much of a change. I do however miss the days of the rides and attractions being labeled by number, thus showing more detail generally to the rides/attractions on the maps.
  19. We as members of KIC do not have this data. The park probably won't share it as they don't even share the number in attendance each year. The park General Manager is the one who was looking at doing this program per his tweet about a year and a half ago, putting "feelers" out there to see if people would be interested in doing so. I think it ended up not having the participation that the park wanted. Compare it to the KIC shirts, we had several people vote for what size they wanted, then we've put them up for sale, how many have actually bought them so far? Translate that to Fun Perks.....how many people said they'd be interested in a "perks" program and how many people actually participated? (Rhetorical question).
  20. I agree. I find it kind of odd that Falfas was ordered back to work under a new administration. What would the current COO, Richard A. Zimmerman do since Falfas would be ordered to go back to his position? Would he be let go of his duties?
  21. It's a different Cedar Fair than when Falfas was "let go." I think Ouimet will do whatever is in the best interest of the company, that will give the company the best publicity.
  22. Not sure if it's a Six trademark or whatnot, but I'd love to see a book of coupons from the pass issuing park like Six Flags does. Edit: I will also say that some of the FUNPerks offers weren't well received. I did one last season, of using IR for a place to cool off with snacks and soda, a catered meal from like 3-5ish (whenever you wanted to show) and then a spot to view the fireworks that evening. I saw myself, the 2 others in my group and maybe 3 passholders take part of this deal. While it did have an overhead cost, wasn't free, it was still an amazing offer.
  23. Thank you for this PTR! Awesome pictures and really great detail!
  24. This makes me sad, but Ryan your post makes me a bit happier, hope we hear soon.
