  1. We are going to get ours processed sometime before or after the Easter egg hunt at the beach water park.
  2. Water based asphalt haha. That's like painting a water park with water based paint CoughGWLCough! haha
  3. Great trip report did you get anymore pic of Planet Snoopy
  4. I like the new guy! Hopefully they will rotate around more often than Shaggy and the werewolf...
  5. This would be a nice place to go next off season!
  6. I've noticed them, I encountered a swarm of yellow jackets once while I was inspecting Xtreme Skyflyer. I was about 3/4 of the way up on the back rabbit ears when I noticed them, I had to go back down to grab some bug spray then climb back up to spray them out. Just imagine me holding on the tower like King Kong swatting at bees around 150 feet in the air. Fun
  7. We might not be able to encounter this ever again but it always seemed to be alot of bugs swarming around the rose bowl on SOB at night.
  8. Derrek is a really good guy I had the pleasure to open his Grand Mound Lodge back in March of 08 then he flew me back in Sept of 08 to help their pool techs. Since I was there for two weeks in Sept he let eat, watch movies and play video games for free as a thank you for traveling to the west coast. While I was there they had some kind of employee contest and he had to stand under the tipping bucket to get soaked, he did it in good spirits and you could always find him out and around the lodge. I now wish that I would of relocated to run their water park.
  9. Hopefully I'll get my tax refund before April 17th so I can bring the fam on opening but regardless if I'm there on the 17th or not we will checkout Snoopy first and if my oldest hits 48" we will finally venture over to the other side of the park
  10. I love Nikon's, I don't have one myself but my dad has a D90 and when I worked for Life Touch we used D300 with are well over $1,000 dollars. Great pictures by the way, I hate my little digital that I have right now.
  11. I ride Metro to work down Route 50 and you can see the river most of the way and it looked like it didn't get up high enough plus they said on the news last night that the river is now residing.
  12. It's a trim to slow the train to prevent it from damaging the track.
  13. Back in 06 I had the pleasure to work with Creative Environs, even then with it being known that Cedar Fair just bought out the parks we joked about that in four years all our hard work will be taken out with Snoopy and the gang being the replacement. So I went along and listed the things that I installed in order that the pictures are in. Not every picture that CrashOverRided posted I worked on, the only rides that I didn't work on was Swipers, Azul, Go Diego Go and Scooby. So here I go! The Backyardigans Swing-along: Installed the character panels around the fencing. Atom Smashers: Installed Atom signs around fencing. NickOround: Installed Characters around top and circles around fencing we had to stick with drawing profiles for both characters and circles for spacing. Timmy's Airtours: I made the crown by cutting a plastic flower pot to look like a crown "clever huh " Also made fairy wings out of plastic sign board. Dora and Boots: was first facing down midway but the Nick reps wanted it to look at Avatar. Sponge Bob's House: Took six hours to install. I had to cut access panels inside tunnel to bolt it down then re-fiberglass and paint. Phantom Flyers: Touch up work on Portal and installed Character panels around fencing. Log Flume: Installed boards back in 03 to raise water level on splash down to create bigger splash and slow down logs before right hand turn. Not pictured was the 8 foot tall flowers by water maze: Dug holes and installed poles. Installed bubbles and sea weed around Planktons plunge and Sponge bob statue. Lazy Town Sportacopters: Ran Helicopters around and side tracked to help install Vinyl. I had special permission to run helicopters around and side track since I used to do maintenance on them back in 02 and 03. Plus they didn't want to pay their Maint. overtime to set there and side track cars for Vinyl Oh I also Installed Blue and Boots on the Nick cars. The fencing was hard to drill threw since it's round stock, we had to tap it first so are bits wouldn't move around. On the NickOround on of the guys from Environs broke a bit into his arm! After returning from dropping him off at B North I finished the install.
  14. Thats what I was thinking too...
  15. Love the pictures, I love the expressions. DB is a easy coaster to get pictures of the guest facial expressions.
  16. I got really excited in November when Creative Environs called me to see if I was interested in working on Snoopy's install since I helped them with Nickelodeon Universe, but in December I was told that ki was going to install in house. Oh well I'm still excited to see how it all turns out!
  17. SOB has become too much of a liability, if any modifications would to be done there would have to be a crazy amount of modifications.
  18. I wish it wasn't enclosed at all...
  19. Just found out that GWL is converting their yellow Alberta Falls slide to accommodate for the new tantrum slide, from the looks of it they kept the start tub and portion of slide leading outside then they are going to connect it to the final helix before running back inside.
  20. I would love to see snoopy laying down ontop like they have him doing at Cedar Point!
  21. Back in March of 03 I had the cold and wet opportunity to ride SOB with just myself and a train full of water dummies! My favorite time to ride is any time

With Big Bad Wolf gone I can see this coaster fitting nicely there plus they need a wood coaster.

The longest I have waited for a new coaster is a four way tie between Flight of Fear, Millenium Force, X-Flight, and Top Thrill Dragster. With large groups I don't mind waiting around 1 to 2 hours since the time goes by having fun with friends.

When I stated working Mech 2 they played 7th Portal with I liked better than Spongebob. The best place to watch them was up in the projector room. SOB TOM could vaulter for me since you used to do the tech work on it while I worked on the mechanical side of the ride!
  25. Come on support your local Wood Coaster Geniuses! haha I would rather see a GG coaster in ki's near future! Wow 2012 would have been my 15th season at Kings Island
