  1. My other two worst have to be Invertigo and Mantis.. both are just way too painful for me to enjoy them. I didn't find Mean Streak to be a horrible ride.. maybe a little shaky, but overall I found it incredibly boring. It looks better than it rides.
  2. I may be in the minority here, but I always look forward to Flashback: Totally 80's. I grew up in the 80's, and to me, watching that is hilariously entertaining. I know Justin's all time favorite is Down Home Country
  3. Try taking some Dramamine next time before you ride. It works for a lot of people I know.
  4. I hate it when people bash rides like that, especially with someone's favorite, like they do it just to get to you or get on your nerves.. like some do to me with Millennium Force. It was my reason for my first visit to CP, the first coaster I ever rode at CP, and the coaster that destroyed my paralyzing fear of heights. Millie means something to me, so that is why I get so defensive when people start bashing it. It has not dropped below #2 steel in the world since it opened in 2000. It is a speed machine, a trimless architectural work of art, and still leaves me in goosebumps when I see it towering in all its glory over the landscape of Cedar Point. It's tall enough to be frightening, yet the layout is smooth enough to appeal to all ages. I highly doubt that its place near the top of the steel coaster chart will go away anytime soon.
  5. Good point, Terpy. I've realized after thinking about it that Holiday World is more of an enthusiast's park than a park that draws large amounts of the GP like KI does, which now that I think about it, that is probably why Beast got more votes.. HW is a hidden gem with powerful wooden coasters that are rarely spoken of and leave you speechless after the ride.. oh well. At least Voyage got #1 woodie again, that which it DEFINITELY deserves.
  6. LOL I know right? I HIGHLY, STRONGLY disagree with that vote..
  7. Gemini at Cedar Point (please do not get angry, I have a very good reason). A little over 5 years ago, I was in a car accident where the same airbag that broke the windshield hit me in the neck so hard that I now have slight nerve damage on the right side of my neck. Gemini's sudden helix, on both sides, caused my neck to make a nasty snap noise and caused a bolt of pain in my neck for several minutes that was the same pain I felt in the car accident. I have flat out refused to ride Gemini ever since.
  8. YAY!!!!!!!! I didn't doubt those awards for one second.. they are 100% deserved!
  9. As much as I love Kings Island, they need to take a long, hard look at Holiday World. The outstanding guest experience at HW completely and totally blew me away. NEVER IN MY LIFE before HW have I visited a park where I've walked, talked and joked with the park owner like we had been friends all our life.. or a place where it feels like they focus on the customer, not on making more money for the park.. in fact, it is only 1 of 2 parks that when I leave, tears sting the back of my eyes because it does indeed break my heart to leave.. you can ask violakat03 about that one, in fact, she witnessed me wiping tears from my eyes on our way out the exit when she and I went a few months ago. It takes A LOT for a park to grab a piece of my heart like that and not let go, but HW does it, every time..
  10. I couldn't agree with you more. Racer is in my top 3 favorites at KI for the exact same reasons you mentioned.
  11. I totally agree. Here's a head scratcher: Parents get enraged every year because they are stupid enough to take their young children through Haunt even though the park highly advises that they don't, and then they get angry at the park because the monsters scared their children.. yet they are hesitant about Snoopy and the Peanuts gang, which has been kid friendly for years and years??.. wow..
  12. Ronny, I always enjoy seeing your photographs. They have a depth in them that captures something a lot of photographers miss. If I ever need professional photographs done, you will be the first person I talk to.. yes, I'm serious.
  13. I couldn't have said it better myself. I personally would love to see SOB go through a GG or GCI overhaul.
  14. Beatle, it may be Sandusky.. but trust me, you do not want to swim in Lake Erie. Have you seen how green that water is and how much trash is in it? It also gets very hot up there during the summer.. I've been there on days where it hit almost 100 and the temps hovered in the mid 80s even after the sun went down. It seems that the northern natives are also used to the weather.. I've seen full boats of people on Snake River Falls on a 50 degree day. If you build it, they will come.
  15. Because if someone was smoking on a roller coaster, and their lit cigarette flew back, hit and burned me, I'd get thrown out of the park for whooping their ***.
  16. I finally found a picture of Intamin over the shoulder bars, to illustrate what you and I are talking about. These are Pilgrims Plunge's boats at Holiday World. The restraints are not uncomfortable, not at all. I have been on Plunge twice, and these restraints feel like a lap bar, not an OTSR.
  17. I was told over and over by many that SFKK was a junk park and wasn't worth visiting. When Kat (violakat03), Tom (Tom76257) and I went in July, we had a great time. Park operations were friendly and interacting with the guests, the park was clean, all food places were open, and all rides minus Twisted Twins were running. The three of us very much enjoyed our visit to SFKK. Don't judge a book by its cover. That will get you nowhere in life.
  18. Screamscape bases their "facts" on rumors. It is essentially the tabloid of the roller coaster news world. Here is my usual reply to their "latest updates:" "I'LL BELIEVE THAT WHEN MY S*** TURNS PURPLE, AND SMELLS LIKE RAINBOW SHERBET!"
  19. I always do what I do with research papers. When you're done with your report select all and copy it. Then go to Wordpad or Microsoft Word, and paste your TR there. If you do get an error message again, you still have your TR on that page, and can just paste it back. Even if you have to re-paste all the photos, you will still have not lost everything.
  20. The general public does not understand the intense dynamics of a B&M hyper. They think it's just another coaster and that their phone will be fine in their pocket. It was the first and only coaster to ever OPEN MY SNAP POCKETS and nearly eat my car keys and my cell phone.. reason why I went shopping specifically for pants and capris with button and/or zipper pockets, and a drawstring bag. I also have a cloth zipper change purse (I put my season pass, debit card, cash, etc. in it) that has stayed put in my pocket even on TTD and Voyage.
  21. At one point during the day, I had counted NINE FLIP FLOPS on THE BRAKE RUN. Also saw someone's hat fly off after the second hill. Maybe DB was just hungry on Sunday.
  22. That's the problem right there.
  23. Those particular flip flops I was wearing were a pair of my basic Old Navy flip flops, the ones you can get in a billion different colors for like $2. My right one doesn't fit properly thanks to people not watching where they are going and stepping all over my feet.. I believe I had them dangling off my feet a bit due to blisters forming on my feet toward the end of the day. They went in the trash as soon as I got home from the park.
  24. I never had a problem before! I think it was just telling me to shut up about other people's flip flops. Besides, I have way too much fun touching my toes on the first drop instead of holding onto the restraint like a sissy.
  25. I ended up stuffing myself to the point where my stomach was sore at the last Backyard BBQ. I was impressed as well. Their food and service are definitely worth mentioning.
