  1. Woohoo! I just put it up on my dashboard! Thanks so much, that looks awesome!
  2. I saw all of those people today in those pictures you posted but they didn't bother to take a picture of my handsome face?
  3. Thanks! Admissions includes ticket/season pass sales and processing, turnstiles, and all of that kind of stuff. I go by my middle name so I don't know what my name tag will say but I did have my middle name on my name tag last year. I will let you guys know. He told me they were offering the job and I guess he assumed I said yes because of my situation with my job in rides last year. It's confusing but I got my paperwork and am going to fill it out asap and send it in.
  4. I got the job! I'm in admissions. I hope to see all of you on Opening Day at the front gate! I feel like I should write a trip report. There were sooooo many people there. A line all the way from the Festhaus back to the front gates. But luckily I saw my old supervisor from rides and asked if I had to wait in the line since I already had an interview and she walked me up to the front. Apparently that was what I was supposed to do but there was no way of knowing. Well inside there were TONS of people waiting in line to fill out applications on the computers they had (like only 10-15). It was a madhouse. I hope everyone else on here got their job too!
  5. I was just at the park for the job fair and saw Don all over the place. But more importantly Diamondback looks amazing even from towards the end near the tower on International Street!
  6. I'm getting ready to leave for the park for my interview. Good luck to everyone applying as well!
  7. Interview tomorrow morning! I hope it goes as well as my last interview with KI!
  8. I am also excited for those little drops. The drop out of the mcbr and the drop into the splashdown look to be a little bit more intense than we think.
  9. ^^^No I definitely think coaster_junky is right. I think they are talking about the spine not the actual size of the track. Just looking at this beast through the webcam makes me so excited. When I was in the park for the returning employee party it look amazingly huge even back by Action Zone. I will be back there again during the job fair Saturday but during the day so I can't wait to see it in the sunlight!
  10. Of course my eyes are playing tricks on me and I think I see something. I can't wait for the sun to rise!
  11. Look at the action going on in the storage track area.
  12. ^I was seriously considering that. Like go and film Diamondback but hit up The Beast and everything else the park has to offer with no lines. Maybe run to Diamondback for one quick ride and then run off to the other side of the park and reunite with some friends in rides and enjoy the emptiness.
  13. I didn't want to do my homework so I calculated how much money has been raised so far. I have question first though. If someone does not bid enough to get a seat does that money still go towards A Kid Again? If that is the case then the park will raise so far $21,378.83!!!!! Also if that is the case then $3,559.71 will go towards A Kid Again from people that did not even get a seat on the first 3 trains.
  14. That whole back section of the park (even by Thunder Run) felt weird walking through. The park was completely empty but it felt weird how lonely it was back there.
  15. Do you ride op's like when I buckle an empty seat next to me or pull down the restraint?? On Son of Beast we have to buckle the seat belt and push down the lap bar when the seat is also empty. The seat belt does slow us down a little bit so it is awesome when the guest next to it buckles the seat belt. I usually would give it a little tug though if a guest did it for me just in case. But for Flight Deck, if the seat is empty only the harness has to be down, the seat belt doesn't have to be fastened. Good Luck!
  16. ^Ok that makes me feel better. I really hope you get the job though. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
  17. ^I'm sorry but when you say "ride operator" it bugs me. The position is a "Rides Associate". There were 2 people on my crew last year that were not trained to drive the coasters at all. You just don't operate the rides, you check bars and a bunch of other stuff. I'm sorry if that sounds mean but since I know longer work in the department I feel like I have to be a know-it-all. I know that doesn't sound like a good reason to be a know-it-all. Don't get me wrong, I really hope you get the job! Best of luck to you! Again, I'm sorry if I sounded like a d**k.
  18. I too have an interview this weekend but on Saturday and for admissions. My friend was hired in admissions last week so I hope I get it too!
  19. ^I wouldn't mind them adding more trains at all. I know that I will not be getting the first ride because I will not be bidding so I don't mind more money going towards A Kid Again.
  20. ^Those little touch ups would be awesome. Flight Deck really needs some TLC including paint. I would love to see some theming put into the actual ride area. I used to love the theming and I still love the ride because they have made the ride a little bit more intense. (At least that's what people are saying because I don't remember much) I would love to see all of the old attractions get some love and work on their stations and that kind of stuff.
  21. ^I have taken a video of ISAW and the operator right when you are leaving the loading dock is waving down at the guests from the tower and he waved right at my camera. I don't think it really matters on those kind of slow moving rides unless there are classified things or where "flash photography" is banned.
  22. So very true. How come you didn't say SOB/FD crew. We were pretty fast . I know a guy that is going to be on the Diamondback crew this season that was on our crew last year. He has worked in rides for a couple of years now on a couple of different crews and I think will do great at DB. I remember Nitro's line at SFGAdv and that flew by. But I was even more impressed by Apollo's Chariot's line. That was incredible even on a crowded day. If we get a good crew, I wouldn't worry too much about the line.
  23. I've taken videos of all of the Mountains at Magic Kingdom and on Expedition Everest and Tower of Terror. They didn't seem to mind at all at the Magic Kingdom but on the other two I kinda sneeked it. I was on my cell phone texting before our elevator departed and the Cast Member yelled at me to put it away so I waited until we got to the first stop in the elevator shaft to turn it on. I have seen videos on youtube where the Expedition Everest Cast Members wave at the camera before the coaster is dispatched so I guess they didn't care but I didn't ask when I took my video.
