  1. Visiting the Don Quixote statue
  2. I think it rules
  3. Sums up the major disconnect that Paramount always had. For better or worse, Cincy folks are nostalgic and traditional. Don't tell us what's an eyesore! And don't get rid of the classics!
  4. I'd hope it's Firehawk since I never ride it, but Vortex would be much more of a blockbuster removal. Lots of memories going way back, but it's honestly better to look at these days than it is to ride. My feelings would be mixed. I think The Bat stays-Just rode it a few weeks ago after along hiatus. Still solid and classic-Plus they're going to eventually put something awesome between it and Banshee
  5. Add a Screaming Swing and I'm in
  6. Quick question-What is the consensus on the lower age for the Haunt itself (not the kids stuff during the day)? It has been years since I've gone at night and it didn't seem incredibly scary, but my 6 year old seems like he can handle more than the day time stuff, but not sure.
  7. -Record breaking Giga in the woods with 2 lift hills -Destination/portal launch coaster that transports you to the other side of the park A guy can dream
  8. Doesn't that assume that purchasing decisions will stay the same once they become pass-holders? If it is more of a routine, and less of a special occasion, your in-park spending will likely go down. When I go to KI with he kids, we bring our own meals and allow them one treat per visit. When I went to CP with my wife, we bought 2 meals, ice cream, and beer because it was a special trip. Still, over the course of the year we will have spent more at KI due to multiple visits. Even if per capita spending goes down once you become a passholder, it's still preferable to have more passholders.
  9. Steel giga, through the woods, with a 2nd lift hill
  10. We're just one family, but we've been to KI plenty this year mainly because the kids are getting to the point where it's not a total pain to take them. Also, Cedar Point's amazing collection of coasters made me go up there for the 1st time in 9 years.
  11. IMO that would capture the spirit of The Beast, even if it was metal. Going that fast, that close to the ground would feel like the trees were an arm's length away. Plus, a 300+ drop straight into the tree canopy?!? Child please
  12. I have dreams about something like Millennium Force whose huge hills rise above the tree line but rips you through the forest.
  13. SoB was always better in theory than in practice. Looked awesome, held records, and at times was an enjoyable ride (if your feet were anchored to the corners of the car). Just a shame how it all panned out. Steel Vengeance has much of the same aura while the ride experience couldn't be more different. No way you could go hands up for an entire ride on SoB.
  14. A ground-up RMC is what the SOB could have been..do it
  15. KI has nearly limitless upside due to its size. Increased theming, flats, coasters can all be done. It could one day be 'everything for everybody'.
  16. Whatever the official name of a Skyhawk is...love that thing
  17. KCKBC was awesome. It was great having a 'big' log flume. While they were before my time, I am always intrigued by the rides that were in Octoberfest. My uncle had an old park map that I'd pore over as a kid and the ones that really stuck out were the Rotor and the Bavarian Beetle...any good pics/stories about these? I still think we need a wild mouse of some sort.
  18. Good move. My kids will love it and I've missed them. Need something huge for 2020.
  19. New track on The Racer and a Skyhawk in Coney
  20. @TombRaiderFTW You may be totally correct, I just know that enthusiasts may be small in number but very passionate and vocal. A little snippet here and there goes a long way. I just mention it because my wife and my buddy-neither of whom are enthusiasts-heard the Outpost 5/SOB buzz (from WCPO) and now basically assume that KI is getting a big wooden coaster to replace SOB. Sure it may all be BS, and if so it'll fade from their memory--but my point is that these little nuggets/rumors have wormed their way into the consciousness of the GP whether anyone likes it or not.
  21. Funny-That was one of the things I didn't care for. I always preferred theming that was not connected to another franchise/mythology/movie. To me, the rides deserved their own theming that were more based on their unique characteristics. The Beast is a hidden creature residing in a wooded canyon. The Banshee feels like a ghost grabs a hold of you drags you through the air as it chaotically flies through the air. Valravn is swooping bird, etc. I love movies butIi always felt like forcing movie theming onto the rides cheapened both the movie and the ride.
  22. @TombRaiderFTW I hear you, but in the day and age of rampant digital connectivity, the powers that be know that even little crumbs of info will be spread and speculated on. And let's face it, once there is actual teasers, those are seen as basically an announcement. It's all just a way to build it up the hype...enthusiasts are the best marketing and the official announcement is usually just the confirmation of 'ongoing speculation'. I love it all either way--especially the conceptual joining of multiple parks' theming.
