I stand corrected then. Now that I think of it I remember seeing a picture someone posted at coasterforce of some prototype Intamin OTSR that were pretty similar to Maverick's OTSRs but with nylon straps over the shoulders. I can't find that exact picture but if you look at this shot from Tele2 Insane, you can see the upper is soft. I think they look pretty sweet.

I asked Jeff Putz webmaster of coasterbuzz and pointbuzz about B&M doing Millie and he said that CP went with Intamin for one reason, they were a lot cheaper.

Actually, it says OTS lapbars with shoulder straps, which I think sounds like it would be more like a seat belt (or racing harness) on your shoulders rather than something solid. I'm pretty sure it will be exactly the same as Maverick.

I305 is 75ft taller than Diamondback, but DB is 182 ft longer. I'd say that makes DB a huge awesome coaster. B&M's hypers are just a different style then Intamin's gigas. B&M tall fast lots of airtime, Intamin taller, faster, less airtime hills but it never losses its speed.

I feel pitty for people that do not enjoy Millennium Force. It must be miserable to have such a hard time finding a coaster they find thrilling.

Intresting CP Tweet
Why not? Its their job to hype up whatever they have. They aren't going to say "just a crappy new water ride. you should probably just go to KD this year."

Intresting CP Tweet
"Definitely NOT taking the Beemer out for a spin today. Or next year for that matter." Twitter quote from today. Although I was secretly hoping for a B&M flyer it looks like the new ride won't be a beemer of any kind. I'm pretty much settled on the idea thats its a water ride with some stupid gimick like Perlious plunge or Journey to Atlantis at Seaworld SA.

"That's a lot of the same looking track." Clint's latest video points out that the staging area has been almost doubled so there is a lot more track on the way. As for the different types of track, we've never seen most of this style track before but we we can guess what purpose it will serve based on what Intamin has done in the past. Definitely lift hill because it has the trough for the cable lift and extremely strong structure which illudes to a minimal amount of supports even more so than MilF. Probably the most expensive piece of track but if that means less 300ft tall supports then its worth it. This will be used for the bulk of the ride from the bottom of the lift to near the break run. Again double spine is for extra strength, less supports, and more versatile than the boxy lift hill track above. Less big suppors = less $$. This track will be at the end of the ride, transfer track, break run, station. These sections are low to the ground so a minimalist track structure combined with more tiny supports is the cheapest way to go.

LSM Launch Coaster for Kennywood
What the marketing dept. couldn't come up with a name for it before the announcement date? I'm guessing we'll see a "name the new ride conetest" coming soon.

Coasters with the best color scheme?
Ugh maybe its because I grew up going to CP and was used to the original color scheme but Iron Dragon's orange makes me want to vomit when I see it. It's my opinion that the gray looked classier and was so much more easy on the eyes but to each there own. My favorite has to be Expedition GeForce. You gotta love a coaster that shares the same beautiful orange and brown color scheme as my favorite football team. I also have to agree with Violakat03 that Alpengiest's color and theme are one of my favorites.

Andrew's 7-5 TR
Happy Birthday, sounds like a good trip. I was thinking that it would probably be a good idea to go to the parks (ki,cp) on the 5th since the 4th is usually so crazy

New View from Sears Tower: 1353 Feet, Straight Down
Looks pretty sweet, I would definitely check that out if I wasn't busy over at Wrigley. Kind of reminds me of the glass floor on the CN Tower (~1800 ft) in Toronto. Here are some more pics of the new Sears Tower ledge thingy.

Not even close, I'd say its far more similar to Millennium Force's lift. Fahrenheit uses a double chain lift and does not have anyway to evacuate ala stairs or MilF's system. MilF and the mystery Giga tracks have a channel in the middle for the cable lift system and supports to one side of the track for the maintenance/evac car to ride up and down on. Was that a typo? I haven't heard any rumors of supports at CP. As for KI, I wouldn't expect anything more than some new paint next year but there plenty of other topics for that.

@beast 1979 Is KD's opening day earlier than KI's? I looked around real quick it looks like it might open a few weeks before KI, that could have something to do with it.

Cedar Point puts Chaos flat up for sale
I'm not really concerned with CP getting rid of Chaos, I say get rid of it before it hurts someone. As for Demon Drop, I love that ride but from what I hear it is getting difficult to find replacement parts for the old ride and they just want to get rid of it while it's still worth something. The Chaos location would be ideal for a little Jr. Gemini sized kiddie coaster and I think they could fit a pretty large coaster in Demon Drop's. Although, looking at the satellite view of that area that gives me nightmares of Scream! at SFMM. Seems pretty normal to me get rid of one ride that is a potential lawsuit and one ride that is well past its expiration date. Wow westcoaster I think you might have set the record for the most question marks in only three posts.

Dinning suggestions needed for PA amusement park trip
I know this is not exactly what you are looking for but I always recommend packing lunch at amusement parks. Lunch meat sandwiches, pretzels, chopped carrots, maybe an apple, and something like a yogurt, and water or diet pop is perfect. I'd look into which ones have picnic areas around the park. At CP I usually sit on the beach or in the grass under a tree outside of Gemini. It is by far the cheapest, healthiest way to eat at the parks. Inside most parks all you will find is deep fried, sugary, fattening, over priced garbage. That is all for my rant of the day, carry on.
