How many coasters have you ridden?
If you count coasters that have been moved and renamed (X-Flight/Firehawk), and count racing coasters as 2, I have ridden 51. If not, 49.

The Son of Beast Discussion Thread
Watch the wheels in Db when you ride it and you will see the same thing.

Tennis inside the Fountains, Anyone?
OK, after looking at this "court", and thinking about how Ryan has placed "match" in quotes as he did, I have got a very plausible theory on how this is going to go down. Nintendo Wii, anyone??

Tennis inside the Fountains, Anyone?
Now now, you are all looking at this wrong. The young ladies are each going to be standing on the small scaffolds you see in the photo, and what you see being built is an oversized ping pong table.... such pessimists we have around here (Sparky says, quite fecitiously). This whole thing is beyond laughable... wit a minute, no its not... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! I agree 110% with Terpy in His statement that, if I worked for GR today,I would call in sick.

Win A Ride On Millenium Force With Jeff Gordon
Wow... this makes me REALLY REALLY glad I chose to postpone my CP trip from the 13th-14th to the 20th-21st.

Tennis inside the Fountains, Anyone?
The Gran Prix I would drive down to watch... this, not so much.

Where did the Thrill go?
Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me about Demon Drop, Terpy. I know MF still gives me that feeling, but that could very well be due to the fact I have only ridden it twice, combined with a serious shakiness I get when I am that high in the air. I will know for sure when I ride it again numerous times on Aug 20th/21st. I know I have pretty much become ho-hum over the coasters at KI. Is Db still cool? Of course, for the train design if nothing else. However, I dont feel any more "thrilled" on it than I did the last time I rode Mamba.

I think there is a 0 missing from both of those figures.

July 18th - Purple Wristband TR
What is making the metal detector process seem faster is the fact the Security Officers are no longer checking bags of any sort after an individual goes through the detector. The last two trips I have made, I have seen men and women go through with fanny packs, purses, backpacks etc and not one has been even looked at, let alone opened. I have a camera case that carries ont only my cmera, but my keys, cell phone, extra camera batteries, and 3 SD storage cards and not once has it been examined. Rather unnerving considering there are many other items that could be stowed in it if someone unscrupulous in character chose to do so.

7/16/09 Kings Island
I was there on the 16th as well and, I dont know if you noticed, but to me it looked like everyone in the park drove three cars LOL. The parking lot was absolutely FULL with the exception of the lot right beside the entrance tolls... but the park was truly not that bad! Longest wait I had was 40 minutes for FoF around 230pm. I will definitely agree with you, Thursday was a really really good day!

I should have known. I really should have known.
I will also give a + to the Db First Rider T shirt. I wear my 'regular" one a lot, and I was comparing it to my numbered one that is hanging in my closet after being worn just long enough for the Auction rides to be over with... and the only difrerence is that that design/logo on the one I wear is a little bit faded which is to be expected from washing/drying.

Magnum vs. Diamondback vs. Millennium Force
Angie, I think you just summed up quite perfectly why I have them listed in the same order in my rankings. 1)Millie 2)Db 3)Maggie

Coaster Battle #1: Adventure Express vs. Backlot Stunt Coaster
Add me to the list of BLSC afficianados. I really like the launch, and the helix is great! Of course, as I said before, I have a thing for launched coasters, and Im a big fan of the Cooper S. I just wish that CF would at least make an attempt to revive/repair the theming and elements of the ride. Those of you with I-pod Touches... do yourselves a favor and download the accelerometer Ap, and wear it on BLSC. You may very well be quite suprised with the peak and sustained G force readings it gives you.

Help Me!
Bow am I glad you logged in to chime in on this Terp. Sparky, who was figuratively biting his tongue and fingertips madly.

Cedar Point Hotels
There is a place roughly 1/2 block from Cedar Pt Drive called South Shore Inn. Reasonable rates, decent hotel... some Friends in a different type of enthusiast group I belong to used to hold shin-digs there and it was always a decent place for/to us. Addy is 2047 Cleveland Rd, and the url is: http://www.southshoreinn.com

I Think...I Just.. Fell in love
Yeah, we are going to WDW in 2 weeks (July 25-29) and I am most definitely looking forward to it. Ive been there numerous times, but the last time was 1987... A World of things have changed since then I know. I have a serious thing for indoor launched coasters (FoF is #4 on my list, just forgot to list it) and I am really amped about riding RRC. Like I said, Db still may remain #3... but this remains to be seen. BTW, if anyone is interested in what RRC looks like without the building, check this out http://www.rcdb.com/ig769.htm

I Think...I Just.. Fell in love
As for the relevant topic of the OP... my black book has definietly been shuffled since my trip to CP. 1)Millie 2)Maverick (I LOVE a ride that just throws so much at you so quickly you cannot keep up with it) 3)Diamondback (subject to change after I ride Rockin Roller Coaster in 16 days). Im sure I will add a couple of woodies to the list after I visit Holiday World and Indiana Beach later this summer... but as of now the woodie I used to Love has been caged and I truly have no remorse in walking right by the entrance path as I pass Db's splashdown.

kings dominion new coaster in development
Im lovin that too! I am a huge cable lift fan, even with its possible maintainance issues like what happened to Millie before CMania. For one thing, its niiiiiiiice and quiet, and for another its VERY quick, which helps a lot for someone like me who truly hates ascending lift hills. The entire time I was in line for my first Millie ride I stared at the lift hill and was incredibly nervous about it... and you can ask Sean about how I was while waiting in line for the DB Auction ride . Needless to say, I have not conquered my fear of TTD yet.

Location of premium parking vs getting a locker
My question is this... if one has a Gold/Platinum Pass and gets free parking... does that apply towards the fee to the extent that one only has to pay the $5 upgrade fee for Premium Parking? If thats the case..... Im with Jesse on this one.... shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

rotag1299, gma, & KI
When you said that "they" are no longer carrying the drink wristbands, do you mean LaRossas, or the entire park? If its the entire park all I can say is... seriously guys? Sounds like you had a nice time at the park, and I agree fully with you in regards to Down Home Country.

WEAR A PROPER SHIRT!
Hahahaahaha! Yeah Sean, I remember those days... I was a Senior in HS (1991-92) when the whole "saggin" garbage started with the pants... and the whole purpose of a hat (bill used to keep sun out of ones eyes as opposed to guarding ones left or right ear from sun-exposure) was forgotten.

Carowinds employee arrested
I think some of the people who commented on the website that this came from were correct in that the $109 figure is the projected amount CF and CW intend on duping the GP out of when attempting to win such a prize at $3 to $5 (or more) per "chance". Face it, everyone on this site knows that any item placed as a prize can be bought for a fraction of what it will end up costing to "win" said prize. Its like certain rides we all know of where you HAVE to sit in a specific spot to make it enjoyable... if you have to be a physicist to sit there and figure out the absolute perfect wind conditions/angles or have a laser guidance system to make a basket for instance due to its rim size being 1/8 inch bigger than the ball going into it.... its not worth it. The job dismissal will stand... the criminal charges will absolutely not.

Your Single Best/Epic Coaster Ride
Yep, after my first ever trip to the Point June 2nd, Ive got to give it to Millie, hands down... or shall I say HANDS UP!!!!!
