kings dominion new coaster in development
People b*tch too much. Has anyone ridden it yet? Then I don't think they can say it sucks. Who cares about the name? It's a ride. You're there for the ride experience, well....at least I am. I don't hear people complaining about "Drop Tower" or "Flight Deck" Those names stink, I'm not going to ride it. I can't wait to ride this coaster. It looks like another great coaster for Cedar Fair and the American theme park.

So if you bash MF you're not an enthusiast? We know you love MF, but easy. People talk crap about Diamondback and hey...people talk crap. I don't talk crap back to them...and I have a special relationship with the ride, I work it! No matter HOW good a ride is, someone isn't going to like it. That's how it works. But anyways this is going to be a great ride. MF I think has the upper hand when it comes to comfort and views from the train with the lapbars and location. But who knows how it will ride until you're in the station waiting for the train to pull in. 85* is going to be fun. And from the animation it doesn't look like the cable lift goes 1/2 way down the first drop, so the train should come into the first drop pretty fluidly. I'm curious to see how the entrance plaza works out. That's going to be looking great!

Cedar Point TR MUST READ!
You did not just say what I think you said. I have to go console my baby now. Launches you down?! It gently gives you a slight push. I was SOOO dissapointed with both Space Shot and Turbo Drop this year. Especially Drop since I've been skipping it. The airtime is NOTHING compared to their other towers. Try S&S's other towers; Double Shot, Combo, Space Shot at different parks. Cedar Point's honestly suck in my opinion. The onlything good about them is the view. The ride itself is boring. PowerLESS Tower. Go for Demon Drop. THAT'S airtime. And Terpy, I'm so with you on Maverick. Not only does the front seat have the amazing views, it has unmatched smoothness, airtime, and forces that you can't find anywhere else on the ride. After riding the whole train, I'm only going to the front seat. It's tied with Voyage for number one in my book.

But with the cable lift, I guess there's a set high capacity because the lift can only go up and down so fast, right? I was trying to figure that out with MF. Even if you get a fast dispatch ready, you'll have to wait for the cable lift! Versus just dispatching when you're ready. You're on automatic versus manual from the way I see it...

Animation/POV's mean nothing. It's a digital concept. Look at Maverick's first impression. "Biggest Baddest Meanest" just is a rip off of Diamondback, and I don't think it fits with the name. A very odd and interesting layout...it looks like it will have some GREAT airtime coming off of a 305ft lift hill. It looks sooooo weird being somewhat "compact" instead of spread out. Hm.. Booooooooo for no lap bars, but what do you expect. Well, it looks better than Millennium Force to me! I, on the other hand, am waiting for Carowind's announcement!

Holiday World
^^Any coaster with a lot of airtime, or enough negative forces to push it off the track will go; as much as the space between the wheels and the track will let them. If the train's wheels are very tight to the track, they will ride the track. Check out Cornball Express, Voyage, Maverick....all the wheels leave the track during moments of extreme negative forces. Yep, Voyage is the best out of my 150 some coasters I've experienced. Raven is very good, too...and Legend is fun. Once is more than enough for me, though

Saw it on the way home from CP. I'll be going sometime.

Invertigo
I agree totally. It has short lines usually but because of it being a shuttle coaster it takes forever to load up people. I'd agree with that, besides the loading for people. The crew is pretty awesome; it's just people who have to do something and they have to up bar the whole train. I do like the ride a LOT. It's one of my favorites. I hope it gets the new restraints. I heard the new boomarang at Carowinds is actually pretty good just because of them. It's a big wish, and it will probably be a long time before we would recieve them. But the ride is very intense. I think it pulls around five g's. I usually see spots on the backwards loop!

Cedar Point - Sunday 8/9 TR
WHAT! LOL. I'm gonna have to head up there again! Gary, sounds like you had the perfect day to skip lines; as even the Wednesday I went...yeah, 100-120 minute waits for nearly everything. Seven rides in Nine hours isn't good. But it's not bad. Blah. Great report, I've always wondered how nice those VIP tours are.

Don't put a sky swing next to Delirium....take Delirium out and PUT the sky swing there. They're so much better.

I think every coaster is pushed into the ground a fraction of a fration of a fraction of millimeter after a year of operating. Everything is sinking.

Cedar Point TR 8/5; Worst Crowds
The big debate of the trip was: Mindbender or Shockwave. I said Shockwave. It doesn't have as unique of a layout or terrain as Mindbender does....but the airtime is just crazy. And the double loop feature made me melt into my seat!
-
Cedar Point TR 8/5; Worst Crowds
Shockwave at Over Texas was...just bliss. I had 30 minutes of ERT on it with my trip! Oh so yummy! And raptor, Corkscrew had a 45 minute wait.

Cedar Point TR 8/5; Worst Crowds
When I think of ejector air; I think of Voyage, Magnum, and Maverick. Slamming into the restraint is what I call ejector airtime. Just "hitting the bar" I can experience that on many other rides, maybe Millennium. Eh, I think the two are comparable. Well, if anything the first drop. Tom, I have NEVER had a ride on ANY Cedar Point roller coaster without having the lap bar rest on my waist, or it being pushed down. I think I'm missing the whole "here comes the INSANE EJECTOR AIR part." I have never experienced that on MF. Kat, I was thinking DB tyle. Car one; front row is seat one and two, row to is seat three and four. I meant row two. I agree with most that it's Millennium Forceless. Only forces I feel are at the bottom of the first drop. I like Millennium Force, I think it's a very fun, enjoyable ride. I just don't think it lives up to all the hype and praise it gets. It's all about the speed and forces apparently. But I don't feel any forces and I don't think it uses the speed that well. It just kind of meanders around. Like I said, I love the ride! It's one of my favorites at Cedar Point! But if I want airtime, I'll go to Gemini or Blue Streak. If I want fun ejector...Maverick. And pain, Magnum.. Everyone has their own opinion on the ride, and their favorite coasters. Hey, my favorite coaster is an INDOOR WILDMOUSE in another country!

Cedar Point TR 8/5; Worst Crowds
Wait, Millennium and ejector in one sentance? Come on, Angie....when there's ejector, that's Maverick, Magnum, Cornball Express, or Voyage. I've been on 1-3/2-1...Millie doesn't have ejector. It just doesn't. It has a little floater. And is Wicked Twister, Millennium Force, Maverick, Magnum XL-200, and Top Thrill Dragster all in an hour even possible?!

I want to ride Behemoth soooo bad.

Cedar Point TR 8/5; Worst Crowds
Took a day trip up today: Park was packed. Saturday bad. And it's Wednesday!!! No special events....just bad luck. ALL rides had FULL queues and spilling into the midway, even MilF and Raptor!!! -Got SEVEN rides in NINE hours. -Wicked Twister first, and a walk on. Umm...did they cut out a lap? I rode in the back seat, and only went all the way to the top....ONCE! The ride was over right when I was about to have fun. -Dragster at 10:15AM....HOUR wait already. I rode in the last row, since it's impossible to get the frontseat without a 30 minute wait. Lovely as always. Trains were flying over the top hat. -Magnum 30 minute wait. Trim was on HARD. It was an okay ride. Needs new restraints, it'd be awesome. -Millennium Force, 1 hour, 45 minute wait. I rode in 5-1....where the Discovery Channel says is best. It was better than the back; a fun ride. It just meanders around. ONE nice airtime hill off the Millennium Island. It's a fun ride like I said, but wow...again, Diamondback is so much better. If you like airtime, go for Diamondback. If you like....coasting around, go for Millennium. Even the first drop can't save it. Diamondback has it beat from the start. -Maverick, 1 hour 45 minute wait. Worth the wait, Worth the wait, Worth the wait, Worth the wait, Worth the wait. This ride is incredible. Everything you'd want in a coaster....and soooo, OH SO much more. It's amazing. Stop whining about the restraints, the ride still kicks so much butt. -Gemini, 30 minute wait. Crew is the most rude people I've seen. Don't judge someone if you haven't met them. -Raptor, 45 minute wait. A full queue house. Went by fast; it's a B&M with an obnocious, pushy crew. The line moves fast. It's tied with my favorite invert, Afterburn. Only go for the front. BUT! Maverick was hauling a$$. It was running soooo smooth and so well, it's tied Voyage for my Number One coaster. That was worth the trip. God, such an amazing ride. I love it! But darn, crappy day for a guest at CP. -Zach

Is Kings Island really strict on height requirements?
Kings Island ride operators also reserve the right to ask the child to take off their shoes. Check your park map for more info. Height requirments are meant for a reason; safety. I'm really not sure why people get so upset when I tell them their kids aren't tall enough to ride and say it's "stupid." I think safety is a pretty important part of riding rides...especially on the tallest, fastest ride in the park.
