  1. KI employees are a helluva lot better than the ones at Cedar Point. Agreed it is looking nicer, but I do feel Cedar Fair is turning into the old, crappy Six Flags, and SF is turning into the older, nicer Cedar Fair.
  2. Dollywood is amazing. So is Afterburn.
  3. So Mitch is God now? Why does his opinion matter more than any? It's a poll, made up of votes from, I don't know...hundreds? thousands? of people. Who said it was Mitch's rank on SOB? Oh, he's Jesus by the way.
  4. 178 174 177 176 173 167 148 133 131 136 Son of Beast (SBNO) Kings Island OH From left to right, 2009, 2008, etc until 2000. http://www.ushsho.com/woodpoll16yeartable2009.htm That's SOB's rank of the 181 wooden coasters in the world that had enough votes to be ranked in Mitch's poll. Let's set fire to Action Zone....Drop Tower will survive though because it's immune to fire. Everyone knows that.
  5. Notice no head rests? Buzz Bars for the win!
  6. Back in the day, The Beast had water going from the station, around the turn around, and to the lift! This pic is from Shane, who posts many old pictures on Themeparkreview.com http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=40361&start=2110
  7. I agree Goliath is better than Diamondback. Diamondback's airtime may be stronger, but Goliath's is sustained air throughout every single hill. Diamondback slacks on lateral forces, but Goliath has a slam-you-into-your-seat-turn-you-into-a-bowl-of-vanilla-pudding helix and a beautiful setting to boot! Diamondback's first drop is the best in the world, I think though... Mindbender is good, but Shockwave at SFOT kicks its butt! Mindbender has the great forces like a Schwarz, but it doesn't have the insane ejector air that Shockwave has. Batman is the most intense coaster ride I've been on. Two consecutive rides in the front seat knocked me out! Acrophobia might be the best drop ride out there. It's REALLY good. PS - I think Cyclone was one of the best woodies I've been on, too. That ride had GREAT airtime! PSS - Scorcher is the best stand up, period.
  8. Those bubbles would make me nervous. I wouldn't want to be inside a bubble that's sealed up and filling with water! Sounds like a nightmare.
  9. ^Eh, each of his posts are pretty much the same.
  10. Why so pessimistic? If it sucks so much don't go!!! The b*tchiest post I've seen!
  11. Listening to Pink Floyd is a great idea in ANY situation!
  12. Not smart to post pics you took while on Diamondback! Just saying...
  13. Log flumes FTW.. Nice stuff dude
  14. I'm dissapointed that they don't have the right waterslide pictures to go with the ride. I mean, I know the slides look ugly, but atleast let them have a warning from the pictures on the website! LOL
  15. I only greyed out on MF the first time, and Maverick the first time. I usually grey out on Invertigo. I ALWAYS grey out on Titan at SFOT. Everyone's different. Not everyone rides under the right circumstances (drink water)!
  16. Didn't they slow the lift on El Toro down? I KNOW I heard about that before...
  17. Ki Man replied to pat's topic in KI Polls
My favorites are 1, 4, 10, and 15. All totally different rides, and I can't pick which is best...
  18. Don't know if anyone has said it yet, but I doubt they would put a trim on...they would probably just slow down the rediculously fast lift. A new trim requires a daily attention, so there's more work being put into it.
  19. Looks like a regular CF park to me. I think Dollywood would classify as an "Amazing Looking Park"
  20. Ki Man replied to pat's topic in KI Polls
Intense? Diamondback isn't an intense ride. But for 'strong' airtime, go for the front and the back. Back would be stronger.
  21. ^Answered. And thanks, Ryan and KIC! Less than 2 weeks until I can get some more photos. Perhaps I'll post some more later!
  22. Ah, only two weeks from Saturday. I'm ready for some Diamondback. Thanks for the comments I promise them to be 10x better this season!
  23. Ummm yeah. 1. Afterburn 2. Raptor 3. Great White 4. Batman: SFOT 5. Batman: SFOG (Wayyy too intense!) 6. Wicked Twister 7. Invertigo (KI) 8. Goliath (SFFT) 9. Lethal Weapon The Ride 10. Reptar (KI) 11. Reptar (Dreamworld) Nice pictures! Hurler is one of the worst rides I've ever been on, by the way.
  24. Great report, Gary! First Behemoth, then Diamondback, now Intimidator...I was afraid Intimidator would steal the spotlight! Good to hear about the airtime, I wouldn't expect less with B&M's newer designed hills. I've heard the same about after the MCBR...looks pretty lame for me, but I guess they really wanted that 3 train operation. The ending looks very...poorly planned or less thought out. Like, "And after the MCBR...oh crap we've got a tiny bit of space and money left to spend....so a scrunched up helix and brakes." But even Diamondback slacks after the MCBR, so no one is perfect. Afterburn is awesome, isn't it?! Diving through the trenches, the zero g...yup, fantastic ride. I *LOVE* Mystery Mine. It's one of my top favorite rides, just because of the whole package. Outside theming, music, area, the ride, the sensations, the *surprises* (cough second vertical lift cough). Thunderhead was somewhat disapointing for me, it was much rougher than I expected, and Kentucky Rumbler seemed to have much better airtime. But Thunderhead did have those crazy tight turns that threw you around. And I didn't forget Tornado...yeah, that ride is phenominal. Can't wait to visit again! See you at Diamondback.. -Zach
