  1. The Ontario airport is actually further than LAX.
  2. More security theatre that is not going to prevent anything. Look at what happened at Kennywood, someone still got a gun in with all of these "policies." Unfortunately, the people who are working the front gate aren't going to be empathetic, it makes their job easier to just say "no" if the bag is over the size. I'm on the Fan Council at UC and we had a similar issue going into this season. They implemented someone who's job is to approve the different medical devices. As for the bags in the park. They aren't worried about what you have on you once you get into the park. In fact, they'd prefer that you stuff that cinch bag with merchandise.
  3. Are we 100% sure that building was torn down in 2009? I don't recall it being back there in 2004 and 2005 when I worked at Action Theatre and Vortex.
  4. Didn't they change the name to Flight of Cheer a few years ago?
  5. This is the way the world is going. It's Security Theatre. Sporting events have been transitioning to this over time and now it's only a matter of time before this becomes the full time policy at KI, IMO. The no leaving policy has to do with the amount of drugs and alcohol people do in the parking lot prior to the event. I've never seen so many cheap plastic Vodka bottles in my life, as I had emptying the garbage in the parking lot during Haunt. There's a reason many of us called it the White Trash Bash.
  6. As a former Supervisor from another department: Generally we would take volunteers first. Then send home minors (less strict break times). Then send home your lower rated workers. If your son is a minor, that's probably what's going against him, unfortunately.
  7. King Island is a family park, not a park for making families.
  8. Pretty hilarious that even CGA is getting some additions even though it's time is nearing.
  9. Looks like a fun little ride.
  10. The Phantom Theatre show is supposed to be really good. I don't think tickets are necessarily for special days only, unless it's a corporate type event.
  11. Count the pavers on I Street?
  12. Chain restaurant quality is very difficult to manage in an amusement park. Chic-Fil-A does ok, but it's operated like a franchise. I'd rather have unique food experiences at the park. We've already got Panda Express, Skyline x 2, Larosas x 2, Chick-Fil-A, that's a pretty big chunk of the parks food offerings.
  13. This is super cool. I was sad to see Rivertown close, but they had their issues independent of COVID when they moved from Lockland to Monroe (kinda silly, but off topic). I really like when people use their business to prey on the nostalgia in the area. Not to mention Moeller makes some pretty good beverages as well. I'll be there when they open for sure.
  14. I'm going to go with a little bit of "A" and a little bit of "B". Halloween Haunt is always a mess at the park. There's also the infamous Pretty Ricky concert in the parks past.
  15. Unfortunately this is a case of a few bad apples spoil the bunch. My mom effectively used Kings Island as a free babysitter for me when I was growing up, crazy to think about now, but she'd drop me off at Kings Island with $20 when I was as young as 10 years old. Movie theatres, malls, now KI is going to have chaperone policies because people don't know how to behave. Crazy to think about how far we've degraded as a society in just 20 years.
  16. Then why don't you post it?
  17. Kings Island has like 200 acres of undeveloped land as well, a lot of it isn't currently "usable" but they could parcel out some of it. The ATP stadium has a gloom outlook. The ATP wants stadiums in cities, not suburbs. Castellini is already laying the ground work to move.
  18. I would have absolutely zero interest in living within earshot of the nightly fireworks.
  19. If The Bat could handle the train colliding with a landscaping truck in the past, I'm thinking it can recover from this.
  20. My guess is that they decided to stop replacing the speakers inside the guns. One less part to replace.
  21. It used to, I wouldn't see why it wouldn't.
  22. Geese are a menace, they make a huge mess, and they attack guests. Can't believe they are a protected species.
  23. It does, but it's not in a public area and it's more of a service elevator. They'd need to add some sort of path to get there and dress it up a bit if they were going to use it full time.
  24. Wow, really stepping up their food game!
  25. It's not ADA Compliant?
