What really BUGS me.
I can see both sides. Expressing disappointment because the ride that was anticipated is not going to happen (i.e. giga), should be expected by everyone, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. This is a forum. It would be terribly boring if everyone thought the same way. But why make your opinion known on the forum in a separate thread (using CAPS in the title so it can stand out), and then have no interaction when other members disagree? It does come off as: "I'm going to stir up the pot with my own view, and watch it boil over." Now add in the line about CP having a serious bug infestation...... LOL! It's a park surrounded by water. What do you expect? Lake Erie is known for their mayflies. So much, there is a website dedicated to them: http://www.mayflynews.net/ There is little that anyone can do to influence Mother Nature to keep bugs away from CP, just like there is little CP can do to keep seagulls away (another gripe by many that is also laughable).

So the CF additions of DB & Banshee at KI are not considered big or best?

Tunnel under Kings Island
It is there, you just have to know where to look. Hint- use tunnel vision.

Cedar Point TO REOPEN MONDAY JUNE 9
Hotel Breakers & Sandcastle were both evacuated due to fire concerns. The whole situation is horrible. I can't imagine the frustration of those on vacation on a Saturday night and CP is painted into a corner.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! replacing DCA's Tower of Terror
I can remember when Disney purchased Marvel Studios and fans freaked because Disney will not allow certain violence or language. Once the movies came out, most did not complain. Disney has done a phenomenal job. Same goes for Lucasfilms. Many questoned Disney with Star Wars, and Disney came through. Ride reinventing may be a whole different animal, but I have faith in Disney. I cannot imagine they would remove the staple ToT and retheme it with bad results.

Cedar Point 2016 Talk
No, I would not say there was room to expand if there was a patch of trees. There is much land that has trees that cannot be developed-take some of the land that surrounds KI.Back to CP, don't read into the comment made. While the property is developed, it does not mean out of room. It is difficult to imagine for many on what ride can be placed in certain spaces. You are catagorizing removal of certain rides/ buildings that CP is out of room. I read it as: since a ride/ building has minimal popularity and/ or high maintenance costs, what else can the space be used for? And then there is the parking lot, which is developed, but not needed to be on Point.

Cedar Point 2016 Talk
Developed does not necessarily mean out of room. He was very clear that high cost and low ridership have tremendous influence on the decisions being made.

WDW: Alligator reportedly drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon
Couldn't??That means a solid yes. A settlement was reached, and deservedly so. But it is also in the best interests of the family. They are very well off and will be under a tremendous amount of public scrutiny for the incident.

Intoxicated parents let 15-year-old son drive to Cedar Point
Anyone can drink at any time. As long as it's responsible. These parents are anything but. They were plowed from the night before.

What will put Kings Island above Cedar Point?
I have been to KI and CP countless times. I enjoy both for different reasons. I live pretty close to CP (2.5 hrs away) and have close relatives that live 20 minutes from KI (Fairfield then onto Hamiltion a few years back). Prior to CF purchasing Paramount Parks, we had season passes to both CP & KI. But when asked what are my favorites, I immediately say Hershey & BGW. Some may find that strange, but I don't get to those parks as often as I would like, so the attraction is greater (and the themeing both have is off the charts). ..... and I really do not like KD. It's the only park that I have been to that we left early by choice. Three times. But I digress..... Fanboys- please skip to next paragraph. The point is: for most, what we can't have often is more sought after and is looked at in a different light. What we are used to is scrutinized more. Major childhood experiences are remembered so fondly that they trump new adult experiences (1979 Beast in my case- still #1). And for the love of all what is holy- STOP WITH THE: CP vs. KI CRAP. B & M vs. INTAMIN. SoB DID NOT HAVE TO BE TORN DOWN! CF RUINED GL! UGH! Those topics have been beat to death and resurrected so much, even Jason Voorhees doesn't want to come back!! Use the search feature!!!! It's easy. It's FUN. It can be a life changing experience! Honest! - Brown *stepping away from the keyboard*

Weather
The no rain check policy is a business decision, but one that KI needs to have. People would take advantage of it. If the policy did not exist, while it would be good for those wash-out days, some would want it to be good for oppressively hot days, or cold days, windy days, etc.

WDW: Alligator reportedly drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon
I have lived on the Southern shores of Lake Erie my entire life and have been a boater/ active visitor to Presque Isle since 1979. I am used to various water restrictions such as: http://www.presqueisle.org/about/frequently-asked-questions/These restrictions typically are about water conditions effected by weather or elevated e-coli counts. This is where it gets tricky: swimming is not allowed at unguarded beaches, but certain areas that are unguarded do allow boats to anchor off the beach & enjoy the water/ beach/ nature. All these boaters get to the beach by wading from their boat. This is considered legal by Presque Isle Park Police which have the same rights as PA State Police. We also have various waterways for fishing. Most of them have no swimming signs posted due to the constantly changing water depths. These same waterways will allow fishing using hip waders where those fishing will literally be in the water past their knees but below their waist. Some waterways do not allow fishing at all and will have a sign sayin no fishing/ do not enter the water. So just in my neck of the woods I am used to numerous signage regarding water restrictions based upon certain dangers. Knowing that not every Disney guest speaks English and are literally from all corners of the globe, I am surprised that a simple "no swimming" sign was thought to be adequate. And even though Florida is certainly known for gators does not mean everyone understands it or realizes that Disney allows certain water activities and does not remove all gators (which seems crazy- but many do believe this) from their waterways.
