Games at PKI
All of the games are fun. They're worth playing if you feel like it. Some days I decide to play and walk out with all sorts of neat stuff. Ryan Related fact of the day: Did you know that it was common practice for amusement parks to pay children to walk aroud the park with prizes in the past? It would be a cheesy way of promoting the games and show that anyone can win, when in fact the small child was an employee.

Tomb Raider time
SOB is really the only ride that doesn't usually open exactly on time.

More In Depth Boomerang Bay Pages
Expect to see a new Boomerang Bay page including the construction pics in the near future.
-
Vortex
Never is kind of a strong word, especially for steel coasters, but I still don't see it going anywhere anytime soon. Ryan

Future Themeing
Exactly. I would love to see an Addams Family dark ride.

31 Nights of Fire Pics!
PKIC is proud to bring you 31 pictures of the 4th of July's Nights of Fire! We are brining them to you from two different angles. You'll notice that Dane's pics are from International Street, near the entrance, and I covered Eiffel Tower close ups. Click here to check them out! As always, Paramount's Kings Island put on an amazing 4th of July show that's unlike any other! A big hand goes out to PKI for such a special event! While you're at it, make sure to explore our new photo gallery. Please leave comments and rate the pics. We love it when you do that! Regards, Ryan Oh yeah, Dane asked me to tell you guys to check in tomorrow for a history section update. He would have uploaded it tonight, but he's too tired from the full 14 hours at the park.

Favorite defunct rides?
Phamtom Theatre... can't believe they removed it! A close second would be the Flight Commander.

Webcam Back Online
I also can't help but notice that the park looks vacant with the exception of the people who may or may not be on Delirium (can't tell). I don't know what's up with this. I really would like to see the web cam come back up!!

Games at PKI
True, they can't be "rigged" per se, but it's totally fair to make things look a lot simpler than they really are. I mean, look at Jacob's Ladder next to Adventure. They tell you how to win and even show you, but most people still can't do it. Granted, the associate IS telling you the proper way to win... quite possibly the only way to win, but it's kind of an "easier said than done" situation. These guys have practice. Hope this helps. Ryan

Those d*mn basketballs!
No, because then you'd have the same kids tossing them around through the midways.

Beastbuzz
Yes, Ft. Cooper was the answer.

PKIC apparal
All of our prices are set extremely low, so even if it does have a margin, it's rarely enough to draw a check for us. Sometimes we'll mark up the shirts to $20.01 or more so you guys can use the $5 off coupons. That can be done by request, by the way. Contact the staff if you're interested. Ryan

And Beastbuzz was.... a hit!
Why am I in so many of them? Me too, you freak!!

TR:TR V.2?
Unless it was a breakdown, the ride never 'turns off' during a ride cycle. It's programmed to hold it's position at a certain point for a certain amount of time, as programmed in the ride control. It uses giant railroad brakes, as seen in the tour.

Glass Eiffel Towers
Wouldn't doubt it. I'm sure it costs a pretty penny if it's of any kind of detail. He has a glass train in there that's about a cubic foot and it costs $1,000.

Those d*mn basketballs!
I totally agree. I HATE those things. Especially when the kids loose control of them.

Smells of PKI
asphalt sealant - whenever I smell it anywhere, it reminds me of the park

Nickelodeon Parade all ready to go!
Sure looks like the route to me.

PKIC mentioned in the Mason Community Press
I'm not sure if they have them in the actual paper or not... I have yet to see it.

NIGHTS OF FIRE
Last year on the 5th, they did the fireworks around 9:30 or so, and from then until close, the crowds weren't entirely too bad. I'll be up taking pics, but not waiting in lines. lol

PKIC mentioned in the Mason Community Press
I have just recieved a voicemail from Italian Chef informing me that the Mason Community Press has an article (written by him) about The Beast's 25th anniversary. This article makes mention of PKIC. I have yet to read the article, so if anyone lives in Mason and would like to fill us in, I would greatly appreciate it. Congrats, Charles, and thanks for the shameless plug! Ryan

PKI Video
I like the video. The intro was extremely good. The only complaint I had was that I felt I spent a lot of time waiting. I mean, it seemed like I waited for almost a minute to watch The Vortex's train hit the cork screw. When you're making a video like that, you have to have non-stop action or at least something in particular to watch that doesn't repeat a lot. You had the same problem with Delirium. I saw tha darn thing swing like three times. Keep that in mind next time and I can't wait to see your progress! Ryan

And Beastbuzz was.... a hit!
I told Dane to pose by it. He said he'd only do it if I promised not to put it up on the page... oops.

What Do You Think The Most Under Rated Ride Is?
I agree with you, it's taken as this mild kiddy ride and since enthusiasts are on there snapping, it simply becomes a dangerous situation. In order to make everyone happy, the proper response would be to put up warning signs about how snapping is allowed, thus making a safer situation for oblivious parents (who, in turn, are the same ones who go and complain to GR), while at the same time still allowing snapping, which is one of the most entertaining things for a park regular to do. In other words, if you put up warning signs, you are giving a fair warning to parents and children, while at the same time not angering a lot of enthusiasts by taking it away. Oh yeah, the ride cycle was apparently shortened to 1:30 because of all of the soccer moms whining about snapping. Ryan

PKI Introduces its Newest Beastie!
Way to go Jeff Siebert! We can only hope that Ryan Siebert has half of the character that Jeff himself does. I couldn't think of a better role model for a child than Jeff Siebert. I wish Jeff's wife a quick and uneventful recovery and I hope that bringing a child into their family only brings their bonds of marriage closer. Best wishes, Ryan Oh yeah, Maureen, since you broke the news, you're on baby picture assignment, but that can be deligated to Steve if necessary.
