  1. Like Boddah said "The track is all still green." The only painted track we are going to see for now is the small section that is painted in the parking lot.
  2. I know I may seem a little impatient but I can't wait for vertical construction to start. But i am enjoying the pictures of the footings being poured.
  3. I also live about the same distance away as you Cory and I won't drive home if CF brings the split shift to KI this year. Although I doubt I would be riding the rides during that break. I kinda highly doubt we'll get the split shift.
  4. I like thriller but i saw the dang video 3 times while waiting in line for The Beast during fearfest. (There was a breakdown). Needless to say the entire video on the QTV was getting kinda annoying.
  5. Ok, so I've been looking at the construction pics of Firehawk and some old overview pics of X-Flight for a few days now, but I cant seem to figure out the orientation of the ride. I'm not sure if the lift will run "parallel" to the srevice road or if it will run perpendicular. I tried matching up the new footings from the construction pics on www.pki.com to figure it out but i'm still not sure. What direction does everyone else think?
  6. I have a really good/strong feeling that the Happy Days Dinner (or possibly Wings) at KI will eventually become Coasters.
  7. Thanks Cory, yea my friends and I had planned on using it during the summer and again during the fall sometime but those plans always floundered. But BGA is a great park, I didnt even get to do everyting cuz our group was so big. There were 8 of us including 1 parent at the park that day, and he sat in the beer place most of the day.
  8. I agree with Interprter and Woofer...BGA is not one to miss. I went during April 2006 and I dont know if it was just a short promotional thing but i got a "season pass" i'll call it for the same price as a one day ticket. With that pass I could visit BGA as many times as I wanted until the end of 2006. sadly I never got to visit again on that pass.
  9. If Vortex were ever removed, I for one would really like to see a coaster like Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia put in to run out toward the river, between Beast and the turn around of Racer.
  10. Yea thats what I meant. If people like "funraiser", why not run with it?
  11. maybe PKIC could have a funraiser of some sort. But then again that may only cover the cost of the cam and not even the monthly service fee.
  12. Maybe to see what the rides at KI don't have so he can include them on the new B&M coaster coming to KI within the next 5 years. Or either A or B is a possibility.
  13. Does anyone think or know if the footings have been completely poured yet or not. If not, how much do you think the storm we are supposed to get tonight affect the construction?
  14. I saw this on coasterbuzz.com, but honestly I dont think new, lighter trains are going to help X. New trains on X are not going to help capacity if they are still only going to run 2 trains, or lessin the wait time for that matter. wow this is beginning to sound like a discussion about SoB.
  15. ^What do you mean "near empty hills" we're supposed to get 12 to 18 inches of snow by tuesday evening/night . I am so ready for winter to be over so I can get back to KI.
  16. ^ You knew what I saying. Its late and I was up early this morning. haha at this point im almost drooling on the keyboard.
  17. I never got to ride KC. One thing, I was too young, I only just turned 18. Two i was afraid of coasters until close to the end of KC. And three by the time I had the courage to ride it, anytime I was at the park it was closed.
  18. After reading the article in the first picture provided by schwarry, I have come to the realization that King Cobra had 2 loops....one vertical and one horizontal. I did not know that.
  19. No one knows where Steel Venom is going yet.
  20. ^CP has done it before, they'll prob do it again.
  21. If they run out of space at CP they may use reclaimed land from Lake Eerie. But that would be costly, especially with the aquiring of the paramount parks. I think kjkjkj is right. They may start expanding another park, and focusing it as their main park.
  22. I didn't say I was an expert on themeing and trying to get guest into a "theme" park. All i'm saying is that some people don't visit a park according to whether its a "theme" or "amusement" park.
  23. ^I agree with you TopGun. That's usually the same direction I walk when i'm at the park as a guest instead of an employee. Also, I'm pretty sure that people arent visiting Kings Island because of where the rides are. If you were right and placement of rides played the biggest part of bringing people into the park, than attendance would go down because of where Firehawk is going in. I agree with everyone that if KI rethemed some of the rides to actually fit where they are, it would make the park a better atmosphere. Most of my family and friends don't go to KI for the themeing. They go to ride the rides. If they want major themeing they go to Univeral Studios and WDW.
  24. ^Yeah, I really don't see how moving million of dollars worth of rides would be better for the park in the long run. The rides are going to bring in the just about the same number of people no matter where it is in the park.
  25. No where in my post did it say a hole with rebar in it. I'm sure there are holes for the footers that don't have the rebar in them yet. But it is always funny when someone else falls.
