  1. Hahahaha!!! Thanks for the laugh!!
  2. ^^Yep, was at DL on Father's Day and SFNE July 8th....you mean with the unwieldy boxed-in T lapbars?? The air was still awesome, but like I said, they weren't super smooth.... I also agree this was KI's best choice for sure, although, I'm still a little concerned Behemoth will remain better....until I'm convinced otherwise!
  3. I would generally agree with this since I also believe MF is ridiculously over-hyped, BUT the Superman's at SFNE, SFA, and DL are pretty sweet with their air, although not super smooth... Btw, great new pics Welchce!!
  4. So is this one of the only times to buy a Stricker's Grove shirt like all the "cool" enthusiasts have and very pretentiously wear???....of course making me want one then!!!
  5. According to someone who posted this on Cbuzz, a Seattle/Washington newspaper claimed Silverwood paid 20x the purchase price to transport it and install it....and then a different article claimed SF sold it for $200K....so $200,000 to buy and $4,000,000 to transport and install.
  6. OR....you can go on a day like Wednesday, May 21st!! In ONE day with really short operating hours (and perfect weather) I rode MF 5 times (line never went past the ramp), Maverick 12 times (with morning Early Entry and PP Ride Night), TTD 5 times, Magnum 8 times, Raptor 6 times, Skyhawk 5 times, the list goes on!! Seriously, late May/early June is the BEST time to go as Memorial Day weekend was good, and the first few weekends in June as well. Unfortunately, since the end of June I've only been one weekend (July 18-20), but I'm kind of CP'ed out for this season...
  7. How long did you wait? I heard even with a full que the line is only 25 to 30 minutes long. Having also ridden Behemoth, I wouldn't go as far as saying with a full queue it's only 30 mins., probably more like an hour+ or so...I will say that the line never moved slow enough to get a Vitamin Water drink from the machine! Seriously, in the time that you fed the $5 buck in, got your quarter or whatever for change and got your bottle, your spot was long passed by and maybe even a half rail ahead!! But even on opening day, I'd be VERY surprised if the line sniffed any longer than 3 hours...at worst!!
  8. I think what's surprising is that the announcement was NOT a let down like many feared it could be, such as a Dive Machine, short track length, >200 ft drop, crappy layout, few airtime hills, etc. ALL could have happened!!! When in life does someone actually live up to expectations?? Well, KI has this time!! It's similar to when you get good customer service somewhere...many people expect bad service, and so good service becomes great service...so just by the fact that KI didn't fail to meet expectations made the out come seem better!!
  9. Never mind that you ALL are forgetting El Toro has one of the hottest ride op's in the industry...my Bruna!! Of course, Victorya on Storm Runner is also tops! Seriously, like Eastern European model type! The kind you see in...well, um....you know...
  10. Well next time, both North Montgomery AND Mason-Montgomery (while I'm at it!) roads are your friends!! I seriously almost hate Kings Mill!!
  11. ^^Don't forget, according to the PointBuzzer's, a supervisor bared (beared?) witness to it, and simply said, "I....wouldn't do that again". Nice employee counseling!
  12. ^^Haha!! I've had many an argument with many a UDF worker over this....I'll take your word on what you said and be willing to try it, BUT all I know is that the way I was told by a Cincy local in the year 2000 (when I was a pimple-faced junior in high school) is to just simply order the regular chocolate malt and have them make it the regular way they would ordinarily make it, BUT right before mixing it, add an extra scoop of UDF vanilla ice cream!! Some still make it the wrong way (whatever way that is), but I can instantly tell if it's made the right way on the very first sip if a.) it's thick, b.) I'm NOT tasting a crazy amount of powder, and c.) you get little, bitty ice cream chunks, which helps to keep it cold! I swear to you, if I get the middle size of that on the way home to Indy (usually at the UDF on Socialville-Foster), it will STILL be cold when I hit 465 in Indy if I don't drink it all the way....pure heaven right there!!
  13. There's your mistake....don't go to the one on Kings Mill, but do the North Montgomery Rd. one instead!! You'll lounge in air conditioned desolateness!
  14. Btw, great re-cap Terpy!! Interesting to hear Shapiro wanted to package BOTH CF and SF for marketing....unfortunately, CF doesn't embrace technology or change very well! Where did I read some story about how in the executive bathroom of some amusement park parent company was the sign "Risk aversion at all costs"!? How funny to hear how the analyst call-in's seemed a little confrontational, which is something you don't frequently see, since when I asked my Fortune 500 company's CFO why analyst questions are boring, he claimed all analysts are doing is jockeying for publicity and to get company votes for analyst rankings (which tie to their compensation)...but I may really have to check-out this call to hear Shapiro's PEIRS question reaction!! Finally, stressing the positives isn't anything new, but it's a little annoying when SF will play-up their Q1 attendance while down-playing Easter, but then play-down their Q2 attendence, but play-up NOT having Easter in Q2!! They do the same with weather, etc...sadly, despite SOX and everything else, companies still aren't that transparent with their performance!!
  15. ^^Of course The Beast is slow in the morning, though!
  16. What about the CP ride op's on SkyCoaster saying, "3, 2, 1...DIE!!" That's kind of illegit if you ask me!!
  17. Good TR! I posted this in the other thread, but how were the trims on Behemoth?? When I went in mid-June the trims were not grabbing at all, and even the MCBR wasn't grabbing!! So I'm definitely hopeful that even if KI's new Behemoth has trims, they won't be that bad....of course, on the days I was at CW it wasn't very hot and the temps probably didn't hit 80!! Sorry to hear about the lack of Behemoth shirt size selection....I thought the selection was bad over 6 weeks ago!?! So maybe they're not keeping up stock? I got an XL, which I must say, has to be the smallest XL I've ever seen!! It's honestly too small for me (I'm pretty tall as well), and I might be willing to sell mine to your buddy if he's interested?? It's brand new with all the tags, never worn-just tried on once, and sitting folded in my closet, collecting dust with hopes of me trying to fit into it for Media Day for KI's new ride next year... Also, sorry to hear CW was so busy! I got lucky as I went all weekdays during Ontario's last week for school and it was a ghost town!! Also, you should have tried Vortex as that line deceivingly looks long, but once you hit the stairs you're at the station, and their trains seemed longer than KI's Flight Deck, and the ride seemed MUCH better than FD too as the scenery with the mountain was cool and going over the lake, etc... Btw, in Toronto did you ever go up in the CN Tower?? If so, did you like the glass floors?! I thought those were awesome and pretty thrilling for something NOT an actual ride! LOL But anyway, although I was a little disappointed that the Toronto suburbs were not all prestine and new suburbs like I'm used to, overall the city was still cool and downtown was awesome, and you can't beat all their rare candy and Nestle bottled waters still bottled in Aberfoyle like they used to back in the day! (my trunk was stocked full of cases, and I still cleared the border ok!?) But I'm glad you liked Canada, and I still want to go back to CW next year even despite KI's new baby Behemoth!
  18. It'll be interesting to see what happens at Kings Island... where history is made and records are broken. Hmmm....is it possible for Labor Day weekend guests will be allowed to repel down vertical tack for the new 2009 coaster with carabiners?? Now THAT would be an up-close experience!!!
  19. ^^EXACTLY!! And my point was that's a good thing for El Toro purposes!!
  20. ^^Well, he's probably bringing his little daughter anyway!! But I don't understand the haircut part...is he serious?? I would say a condition to HIM are stops at Gold Star and without question UDF for a large malt plus an extra scoop of ice cream (and the UDF kind that is!)...why Indy doesn't have such luxuries I do not know, but that helps to make riding El Toro easier, eh Terpy!?
  21. 5?!?....but I'm leaving the office at that time!!!
  22. ^^Wow!! I love the short reply!! (I stopped reading after the 1st hundred paragraphs or so) But anyway, maybe you touched on this, but a MB local posted on another forum that the location also sucks. I haven't been to MB in a few years (usually driving down from Wilmington, NC where a friend lived), but it turns out what I thought was "MB" was actually more like North MB, and apparently HRP is downtown which is south of South MB and kind of off the beaten path and sort of in a bad area too?? (plus has bad height restrictions due to the nearby airport and why LZ is so short) I dunno...I'm still hoping to make it down there this fall, assuming they're still around by then!!
  23. So how did you like CW?? Also, what was the trim situation like on Behemoth? When I went in June Behemoth wasn't really using any trims, and I didn't even hear a peep from the MCBR as well!! Of course, the temps on the days I went possibly didn't even hit 80. And also, too bad your didn't like ROS as I thought it was a million times better than MF!! I went to DL on Father's Day and although it seemed very busy, the waits were not bad at all...ROS 45 mins at the max with slow ride op's partly due to a walk of shame on every train!! Their SLC (Mind Bender??...I dunno, this summer's coasters are running together!) was slow only due to a one train op until they added the 2nd. But anyway, hope you had a good trip, and I hope Behemoth measures up to whatever KI is getting in 09!!
  24. ^^Don't you agree, 'terpy, it still feels weird loading Great Bear at the ground level!?!
  25. ^^Who's to say it might still not happen?! I mean, doing it once the new B&M hyper is operational would be the best time, truly!!
