  1. I just watched the Science Channel special about the park being built on Friday I believe. Well, needless to say, I think it was doomed from the start. There was a segment where the construction crew was assembling the giant guitar at the park. When the crew went to lift the base piece, the crane barely moved. Turns out that the weight of the piece had been estimated 1 ton under what it actually weighed. Not a good omen in my mind.
  2. MF? Well that's an easy one! Millennium Falcon! And you all thought that was going somewhere else...
  3. Woops, yeah I meant footing.
  4. Which support was it that they had cleverly disguised as a plant holder with ridiculously large bolts (There might have been more than one, but I can only see one vividly in my mind)? I'm trying to see what it looks like now.

Fun little story from our DCL trip. We took the banana boat excursion on Castaway Cay. Well, my dad was the second person from the back of the raft on his side. We hit a couple of big waves and my dad was flipped completely off the back of the boat, over the head of the guy behind him. On top of that, he was dehydrated, so upon returning to the shore he passed out...one stop to the ship board infirmary later, and all was well again.

I am so jealous of you right now! I went on a Disney Cruise 4 years ago. I still have really fond memories of it, and can't wait to go again if the opportunity every arises. We went on a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise. St. Marteen, St. Thomas/St. John, and Castaway Cay were all amazing. Glad you to see you had a grand time!
  7. Oh wow! So I wasn't crazy! I knew there used to be more rows.
  8. Thank you for the info. Sounds like a pretty interesting building to me.
  9. Ah, wonderful trip report and excellent photos as always. I especially enjoyed getting to see the pictures of the hotels interior. Quite an amazing feat to me. But, you said it wasn't a hotel from 1932 to the restoration. So, what was it during those times?
  10. Why yes!! A field with Grass!!! Well, a field with grass is better than say, a mine field. I guess the trains being at KD means we won't be able to see them in a ghostlike and dust covered state during any other KIC days...oh well. They made for some cool pictures while they lasted.
  11. Ah, well you're on you're own on that one.
  12. Japanese coaster company...http://www.rcdb.com/cd156.htm
  13. I think I'll burn The Beast audio to a CD and play it in my car while driving on hilly roads...
  14. I won't be able to make it to this one, so I expect and excellent selection of photos and videos from you all!

  16. So did they install it a second time? tubaman...who couldn't resist. Sorry Terpy if I steal any of your thunder. The piece was suspended by a crane on Tuesday. I'm willing to go as far as saying that it's still not technically installed. Allright, fair enough. We'll call it a draw.

  18. ^It's really entertaining. Trust me. *puts in earbuds*
  19. Okay, here's one that I am definetly guilty of... You might be a KI addict if...you have the audio of a Beast POV that you ripped from a youtube video on your iPod and frequently listen to it imagining the ride in front of you.
  20. You might be a KI addict if you are reading other peoples 2AM post about being KI addicts.
  21. When is the Flying Turns going to open, or has it? RCDB.com has it to open in 09, but I thought I remember it being slated to open at an earlier date some time ago.
  22. Haha, Wild Escape...I remember that article in the Gazette. Any updates on that? And I'm glad to see you had a wonderful time at Ogleby. I'll have to go up there sometime myself, seeing as I have never been to Wheeling and lived in WV all my life. But then again, its a long drive. Instead, for a light display substitute my hometown has our own guy who goes all out on his lights. My cousin from Cincy describes it as looking like "A spider threw up christmas lights all over his trees." It's a pretty fair assessment, but all of the townfolk love the lights. I'll try and get a picture to show.
  23. Of course, this isn't always the case...but we certainly are thankful when it goes according to plan.
  24. Well, that seems to be a pretty good sign then. And you're definitely right about Raging Bull, but that didn't stop me from riding it 10 times in one day a few years back.
  25. If this ordeal over brakes escalates anymore, I think the mods might have to step in and break it up. Okay, I'm sorry. That was completely unnecessary, but it sure beats finishing the research paper I need to turn in... Just as long as the trims aren't obvious (referring to feeling them slowing the train down) then I'll be happy. It just kills me on The Beast though, when you can easily feel the brakes holding it back from unleashing it's true fury.
