  1. I stand corrected. And here I thought the trams were totally gone. Hmmm
  2. GREAT WORK! Yet again proves how dedicated and just plain awesome the staff of PKICentral are! (I'll be printing the random facts page and sneaking it into BeastBuzz with me next year!)
  3. A bad day for quadruple posts... ...a bad day, indeed.
  4. Then you may be leaving many amusement parks a little disappointed in the coming years. More and more parks are moving towards family-oriented rides.
  5. hi, welcometopkic ent, ral, you miht want tocheck out our TOS: http://www.pkicentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4128 Translation: Hi, welcome to PKICentral. You might want to check out our TOS (terms of service): http://www.pkicentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4128 To answer your question, the trams are not running this year. I am not sure about the ACE discounts. Anyhow, welcome to PKIcentral. It's a great place...just try to proofread your posts before hitting that magic button to submit the thread. It makes it easier on everybody.
  6. *gasp* You don't say?? Well, whoever and wherever you are, mysterious Brian...hello! (Not expecting to be remembered, because after thousands upon thousands of guests coming through the turnstyles, that's just crazy talk!)
  7. Awesome TR! Is Brian the one in the blue or red? The guy in the blue is ALWAYS at Demon Drop every time I'm at the park and a really awesome guy. My friend and I were talking to him about our rollback on Dragster for a little bit one day back in May.
  8. I love these changes. I seriously check the PP sites and the Cedar Fair site every day for any changes.
  9. lol, like omgz i know!!!11one!!eleven!!1one lmao not sob **AND*** fof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I mean, seriously...I never get on somebody's case for bad grammar, but reading that was like nails on a chalkboard!)
  10. Yup, those good ol' mid-course brakes pretty much make the ride that much less fun. I'd kill for a chance to ride when they aren't running the trains with those brakes off.
  11. Haha, that reminds me... Last time I was at Cedar Point, a guy working the Age/Weight game was on his mic (set at a perfect volume and not being annoying) asked if I wanted to play. I shook my head and smiled and continued walking by. The guy, on the mic, was like "Come on, don't be a *****" I laughed so hard... Yeah, probably not the best guest service or anything, but it actually made me smile. I wasn't about to complain to anyone about it.
  12. Looks like they updated it a little. This is from the page that their Q2 conference call will be at: "Cedar Fair, L.P. (NYSE: “FUNâ€Â) is a publicly traded partnership headquartered in Sandusky, Ohio. The Partnership, which owns and operates twelve amusement parks, five outdoor water parks, one indoor water park and six hotels, is one of the largest regional amusement park operators in the world. Its parks are located in Ohio, California, North Carolina, Virginia / District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Missouri, Michigan, and Toronto, Ontario. Cedar Fair also owns and operates Star Trek: The Experience, an interactive adventure located in Las Vegas, and operates the Bonfante Gardens in Gilroy, California under a management contract. Cedar Fair’s flagship park, Cedar Point, has been voted the “Best Amusement Park in the World†for eight consecutive years in a prestigious annual poll conducted by Amusement Today newspaper. "
  13. I accidently went to Cedarfair.com just a few minutes ago instead of cedarpoint.com, and I'm glad I did. As soon as I noticed my mistake, I retyped cedarpoint.com in my address bar, and as the Cedar Fair page went away, I caught a glance at a slightly more populated map of Cedar Fair parks. I hit my trusty back button, and sure enough, Star Trek and Bonfante Gardens are now listed as Cedar Fair parks on the map. http://www.cedarfair.com
  14. Lighthouse Point....I've heard it's amazing. Nice cabins, fairly new, and on-Point.
  15. Nah, CBS doesn't own the parks anymore. I doubt Cedar Fair will take the major "cheap-o" route.
  16. SOB

Reclaimer replied to screamingnight's topic in KI Polls
They said the trains are staying where they are at for now because they do not want to risk putting any more stress on the sections of bad track. They will wait to see what the reports say and go from there.
  17. Thanks for posting the press release. I was excited to read a new release with all of the parks in the slug line. Since we are talking about releases, I decided to get on the Canada's Wonderland press page just now and read the May 22 release regarding the sale to Cedar Fair. I found the first couple lines highly entertaining...almost, bitter. "We are excited that the Paramount theme parks will now be part of a company whose primary strategic focus is on the theme park/entertainment business." source: http://www3.paramountparks.com/CanadasWond...cfm?item_id=387
  18. In the top-right of the photo, you can see the construction for Tomb Raider. I didn't visit the park too often pre-2004, so I'm not too sure of how construction for Tomb Raider went, but I'd guess that this is late-season 2001. Also note the lack of metal detectors. (Though since Delirium isn't there, we know the detectors wouldn't be, due to them being new the same year) I'd say the biggest clues to the answer of this mystery are the Tomb Raider construction, the presence of King Cobra, as well as the presence of Action Zone.
  19. The Flyers, Phantom Theater, and though it's not a ride, and it's partially still around (though barely), I used to LOVE the arbor tunnel in HB Land.
  20. Maureen, Continuing with coaster-chickie's question regarding what caused the wood to break, would this have been caused by the recent re-working of the ride at all? By the way Maureen...thanks for all you do! You are the *best* at what you do and I am thankful that Kings Island has someone like you on their team. Judging from posts I've seen here and on other places (Coasterbuzz, for instance) others agree with me.
  21. Burger King should've purchased the parks. Then the King's Island spelling would be correct, and we'd see the King walking around rather than Spongebob and/or Snoopy.
  22. Same here....in line the day it opens.
  23. Just heard the story on the Today show. This is really sad...SoB has gained attention of the national news, and not in a good way.
  24. This is terrible news. Let's hope everyone, including Sonny, is okay and can return to normal soon. I wonder how accurate these articles are, though? The media hypes things so much anymore that the "blood and broken bones" in the article could very well have been bumps and bruises.
  25. Haven't you noticed? TopGun takes a few photos every now and then.
