2026 Gold pass good for all parks
Am I tweaking right now? Do my eyes deceive me? Call me old fashioned, but I don't think Six Flags can include "Unlimited Visits to Gilroy Gardens" on their 2026 California's Great America season pass sales benefits page without, y'know, owning/operating/having a deal with Gilroy Gardens. This tells me that someone probably either went back and copied/pasted an old Season Pass benefits list or does not know that Six Flags doesn't own that park. Maybe it's just a really bad typo, maybe it's sloppy AI, maybe there's something I don't know. Massive shrugs and confused noises over here. The link: https://www.cagreatamerica.com/season-passes

Cincinnati Area Haunts
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry NewsI'm very much in agreement. The No-Boo Necklaces do more to cater to the chain's monetary interests than they do to help the overall guest experience. Unfortunately, Six Flags is solely in the business of making money with much less regard for guests in the parks. Yes, you'll have those who only want to come for the rides and don't like the Haunt stuff, but they are the outliers. I thought last year was supposed to be their big year since they merged with another event? Maybe I didn't pay as close attention to the reviews as I thought. Prohibiting strollers and wagons during Haunt would do wonders for the event. Bags are already restricted by size so it feels like an intentional oversight to allow the strollers and wagons to stay/come in the park. If people are in the park with their strollers during Haunt, there also should not be much space for stroller parking as I fear will eventually happen. Making the event a separate ticket for non-passholders would probably also do wonders for the event, but I've typed for long enough.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
The entrance could theoretically be moved fully over to the side path facing the First Aid building. You would lose the trees and more open plaza area that have existed throughout the attraction's history, but then it would at least be more on International Street than not. It'd be easier to just move the Snoopy statue somewhere else and retheme the Wind-Up ride to create more of a visual barrier between IS/PS. If the queue/exit got any work done, I'd focus on improving the atmosphere in there and in the exit line. The two TVs are probably part of a corporate mandate on allocation of FunTV locations in queue lines, so I doubt they'd be removed unless another chain got KI. Really, what needs to happen in there is new paint, preferably not just black; new wallpaper, hopefully something that would look good in there; new flooring; and new lighting that isn't just can lights or fluorescent tubes. Note: If an attraction's queue line is focused entirely in one area, any pre-show or effects should run on a loop lasting at least 30-60min. Guests will notice if they are standing in line and hear the same line five times in an hour. I recently noticed that one of the fabric cobweb strands is missing from a chandelier, and there is now a random fabric cobweb tacked onto the left side of Maestro's balcony.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
New 2025 All Season Haunted Attraction Passes have been added to Discovery Kingdom and Magic Mountain's purchasing websites. The one at Magic Mountain is $69.00 (nice) for unlimited access to mazes at Magic Mountain's Fright Fest ONLY. The same is available at Discovery Kingdom for $65.00 for DK ONLY. Knott's is offering a new Knott's Scary Farm season pass add-on. It doesn't look like they will require a Haunted Attractions Pass, which would be good considering Scary Farm is already a ticketed event. No official word yet about the Haunted Attractions Pass from any other parks.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
2026 Season Passes are now on sale for California's Great America Gold $75.00 Canada's Wonderland Silver $69.00 Gold $99.00 Prestige $199.00 Discovery Kingdom Gold $49.00 Prestige $145.00 Knott's Berry Farm Season $95.00 Gold $120.00 Prestige $245.00 Magic Mountain Silver $79.00 Gold $110.00 Prestige $175.00 The front-page promotion offers, "280 coasters, 130 miles of track, 1000 entertainment experiences, 970 water slides, and 500 live shows". For anyone wondering about the entertainment/shows claim, it averages out to around 19 live shows per dry park (26 w/out including SF America or SF Qiddiya City). That 1000 entertainment experiences comes to 38 per dry park; and no doubt includes the 500 live shows. These numbers probably include 1-2 day performances from local bands, fireworks shows, and small-stage performances; but man, it would be awesome to see more entertainment at Kings Island and the other parks across the chain overall. Looking at all of the leaks and now-published MVP sales it appears that the Silver Pass is now the limited offering, while the Prestige pass will be available at all parks except for California's Great America. Knott's Berry Farm also offers a "Season Pass" instead of a Silver Pass for some reason. Both Magic Mountain and Discovery Kingdom are now officially offering all-season Fast Lane pass add-ons, showing once again that Fast Lane will replace THE FLASH Pass at Legacy Six Flags parks. I wonder if there is a reason why 2026 passes went on sale today for the California amusement parks (they're not available on the respective CA waterpark websites), as opposed to the July 31st date given by Six Flags. In related news, check out these screenshots from the Knott's Berry Farm, Canada's Wonderland, and California's Great America apps, respectively: Notice how the Knott's and CGA promotions use the Legacy Six Flags logo, while the Canada's Wonderland promotion uses the new corporate Six Flags logo. Everything else is the same aside from the colors and KBF's use of their logo as well. The inconsistency makes me wonder if they're playing around with whether or not they want to keep using that old logo, or if they are being selective about where they use it at. In other news, after cancelling their Holiday in the Park winter event, Six Flags Over Georgia has now introduced a standalone VIP Tour opportunity. Great Adventure introduced a similar offering nearly a month ago, although I haven't heard anything about how it compares to other VIP Tours. If it is the same it (at the least) includes a meal, a snack, beverages, a dedicated tour guide, and VIP parking spots (different from Preferred). Kings Island also offers VIP parking between the Handicap and Associate lots, however I don't know who they use theirs for.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
If it is going to continue to legally be part of International Street, they should make that little plaza a little more distinct from Planet Snoopy. Remove the Peanuts theming from the Wind-Up or replace it with another small flat ride with theming related to whatever the dark ride would be. I'm sure the one at KD might also be a part of their International Street for this reason, though I'm not as certain. I understand keeping it there so that whoever owns the Peanuts brand remains happy, but the area seems to pretty much fully be a part of Planet Snoopy. Either move the boundary of the land or redo it and make it a part of Planet Snoopy. IMO the reason why the park should bring back the covered walkway between International Street and Rivertown is because then they could fully cut off access to Planet/Camp Snoopy during Halloween Haunt. Most of the pathway for it still exists, the issue is where the large chiller unit and rear access are located for Planet Snoopy Grill. The shaded area would be a good bonus as well. Movable planter walls or smaller permanent gates would block access to the area. That would also look much better than the rinky dink fences or string they tie across the vast expanses of pathway. I remember when they used to put the scrim curtain walls up along the route of Woodstock Whirlybirds. That seems like it would be just as easy to put across as the rope or the fences. Kings Dominion has gates (for what, I don't know) that can block access from International Street to Old Virginia and the Central Walkway. I believe there may also be two more going toward Planet Snoopy and Dominator, respectively. Funnily enough, both the BBoBH at Carowinds and at KD were once theaters as well. Carowinds' was the original Harmony Hall, while Kings Dominion's was an indoor theater in the Lion County Safari. The latter only uses the back portion of said building where the stage/backstage would have been. The front area is now part of a restaurant/bar. The big difference is that the buildings were still just smaller than the behemoth that originally housed the Enchanted Voyage.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
I think there are plenty of wood coasters that should get the RMC treatment before anyone even parses the idea of doing it to The Beast. Giving up the title for the longest wooden roller coaster is not something the park should do, especially since they already seem to be making a lot of rough decisions for additions to the park. Leave the record-holding coaster, put something in The Crypt's building. I feel like any Boo Blasters retheme will take place at the same time for Kings Island, Kings Dominion, and Canada's Wonderland. Those three parks' BBoBH are all located in Planet Snoopy and would get similar updates.

Horrible Cleanliness in the park
It would be nice to see the park also take some more preventative measures on these hottest days of the season. The extreme heat tends to make people sick more often, especially if they have not been drinking enough water or are baking in the sun and riding a lot of coasters. Part of the cleaning process is indeed to hose the car down, although I can't remember how many cycles it takes to clean them. Additional dedicated water stations (with cold water available), more shade (even temporary tents for shade), more fans blowing, and more trash cans would help. I'm sure the reduced number of ride operators and janitorial staff around the park does not help these situations. FYE Coasters recently posted a video where there seemed to be less trash cans in an area than there used to be. Can anyone confirm or deny that you've seen the number of trash cans change recently?

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
This sped up "B" word process might be a little preferable over letting guests see the parks have a slow(er) and painful(er) decline. I'd prefer it didn't happen at all, but the inevitable is coming whether I want it or not. Four parks have cancelled seasonal events, one park is set to close this year, and another park is set to close after 2027. What is the range for how long bankruptcy proceedings typically take? Could we see the government step in and help a little (doubtful considering this administration)? I'd hope most of the parks are able to be saved from the wrecking ball. If other current chains get their hands on parks like Kings Island, you can kiss that cheaper Gold Pass goodbye. I don't know which chain would be capable of taking on any of the parks, even with financing, but I'm sure there's at least one that would take at least a park or two. It'd be really nice to see a new set of regional park companies rise from the ashes of Six Flags that are more capable of handling their smaller set of parks. If the park makes it through whatever is coming, I'll be very hopeful that this can be the case. Any company that holds guest experience near the same level as profit generation would be a good replacement after this mess. I still go to the park once a week and will probably continue to do so. Maybe these latest cuts will buy a little more time to allow for Haunt and Winterfest to be better events this year. Something funny to see as well: you'll see all kinds of comments on social media longing for a return to when Paramount owned Kings Island, and yet, now Paramount is going through its own merger. It may not be the same situation, but it is still funny to see.

Kings Island Dining Ideas
I'd love to see if Kings Island could incorporate a replica of the Moonlite Gardens building from Coney Island somewhere in the park. My first thought is that it could be a big new indoor dining location, called the "Moonlite Gardens Dining Hall". It could have an indoor VIP lounge on the second floor (accessible via stairs and an elevator via an outside entrance) and a lot of tables inside and outside the building. Maybe it could have either a cafeteria line service like Hugo's at Cedar Point or a better version of the table service-ish experience found at the Miami River Brewhouse. It could be a nice addition for the Saltwater Circus plot or a somewhat extensive project to take over the KillMart building in Coney Mall. Kings Island desperately needs another indoor dining location and this would bring one more thing from Cincinnati's Coney Island into the park that it inspired.

Cincinnati Area Haunts
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry NewsI'd have never found out about it if I didn't do some research for a project in college a few years ago! Turns out Miami University owns/once owned it. It's actually one of two sites for the missile base, but I think the other one is still used by someone for its radio/satellite tower. Area 13 also had a different name/operator (I think) when it first opened. That, combined with the fact that it's in a very remote location, makes it one of the more interesting greater Cincinnati area haunts. I'd love to get out there some day.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
It is no longer listed on their events website. It would not surprise me in the least if we began to see more events removed to direct guests to a park within a 2-4 hour drive. SFOG and Kings Dominion guests can just go to Carowinds for Winterfest. SFSL guests can just go to Worlds of Fun for Halloween Haunt. Dorney Park guests can just go to Great Adventure for Holiday in the Park (DP didn't host a Winterfest last year, but the point stands). Next thing you know, HalloWeekends will be the only place to go for a Six Flags Halloween event within a 5 hour drive. (Just kidding, that is a nightmare scenario, but is something that I could unfortunately see SF doing.) Just more cost cutting measures that will help short term gains and harm the parks in the long term.

Kings Dominion 50th Visit
I just found a copy of Kings Island's 50th Celebration menu on Reddit, and it has me wondering, is there a reason why Kings Dominion couldn't have done something like this beyond not having the manpower/willpower to make it happen? Temporarily renaming some more food items for 2025 might've helped to make the celebration a little more grand. I've noticed a lack of promotion for the 50th menu items now as well, despite the fact that the celebration doesn't end until August 3rd.

Siren’s Curse is going to be Problematic
This is another good reason for Cedar Point to go for smaller attractions for the next several years. Not only have they added/renovated three roller coasters in three years, the reliability of those coasters have been plastered all over social media. I don't think you'd get as much of that if a ride like Sol Spin or a tea cups ride was added. They could also find a way to add a new theater or indoor show venue. Maybe 2026 will bring another water park refresh (where they just reopen the other half of Cedar Point Shores ). Cedar Point needs to really focus on improving the quality of the guest experience right now without building a new coaster. Who knows, maybe 2026 will see DC Universe replacing Camp Snoopy. That way the park will be able to tear down even more trees!

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
Canada's Wonderland saw a massive spike in attendance after their 2026 passes went on sale. Whether or not Kings Island's passes are able to penetrate the market any more than they already do, I think we'd see the extra days remain. It also looks like the November 2nd Haunt date on the park calendar has been corrected to only mention Tricks and Treats. I hope the Haunted Attractions Pass works more like a tasting card rather than a Fast Lane. If it's one time through each attraction, it would be much better to let guests come back to use the rest of it. Rather than force them to buy a pass and stand in long lines only to not experience everything, make it a punch card system like I've seen Fright Lane have in the past. All of this being said, the overall Haunt experience at Kings Island will need to be much better for 2025 than it has been for the past five years for any of this to be worth it. I don't think they'll see many repeat HAP/HAEP customers if they keep the mazes at the quality level they're currently at. Both Carowinds and Kings Dominion have released teasers for SCarowinds and Halloween Haunt, respectively, while Kings Island has only put out hiring flyers. The most we've seen for new mazes/attractions at Kings Island are photos from over a month ago and the new flyer. I have to wonder when they are expecting the right time to be to release the news about the new upcharge.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
I think it would be a great fly-through element for an RMC! I once had an RMC concept that would've taken up the land from Timberwolf, The Bat, and the Son of Beast station with that fly-through element in mind. It wouldn't have been a SOB revival, instead playing off another defunct ride and being called "Demon Slayer". The track would be black with some red, orange, and yellow fire-like sections. It may be a pipe dream at this point, but if Kings Island is ever owned by a company that doesn't keep the park down in favor of Cedar Point then I think it could happen. I have a feeling Great America's new kids area will be a Camp Snoopy with a SSBR or SRR clone where their go karts are. It has me wondering if we'll see Looney Tunes be taken out of that park if the Peanuts gang comes in as well.

Cincinnati Area Haunts
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry NewsThe only two reasons I'm fine with the continued existence of No-Boo Necklaces is because it brings in money for the park and it allows some guests to come to an event that might have otherwise further traumatized them. There are better ways to deal with that than a light up ghostie necklace, but I won't get into that. I hope Kings Island brings back the interactive lanterns without splitting them into two different items — I'm looking at you Winterfest Ornament and Nutcracker Bubble Wand. That would at least help to keep Haunt where it's at. I've been really interested in the Area 13 haunt since it's way out north of Oxford and takes place at the decommissioned missile base. Hopefully it can stick around at least another few years while I try to find a job that will let me go out and do things like this.

Universal Studios Orlando Resort General Discussion (USO, IOA, Epic Universe)
The first two are definitely references to Ghostbusters/New York City IMO. I don't think the second one is referring to BTTF, especially considering both signs refer to Midtown (Manhattan) and the area around it is already themed to NYC. The only notable transit service in Hill Valley was the passenger train seen in Part 3: and, I guess the DeLorean if you count time travel as transit. The third sign, IIRC, is a reference to one of Universal's higher-ups (maybe a Universal Destinations & Experiences exec?). The LA area code is odd, but it could be a typo or an irregularity to keep guests from calling a phone number already in use. The area code for Manhattan is 212. Is it like Universal to leave typos up for extended periods of time?

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
The expanded Halloween Haunt hours make me hopeful that we'll see a better event this year, but all of the drops in park quality over the past few months make me doubt that. Maybe things like the Haunted Attractions Pass will thin out the amount of young children at the event. I'm sorry to say, but I don't think young children (especially those in strollers) should be allowed into the night time event. Haunt has suffered from being made more family-friendly, and it's about time for it to return to its gory goodness. Tricks and Treats should still exist and be a high-quality event, but there is a separation between the daytime and nighttime Halloween events for a reason. Those new operating days/hours could either mean that guests spread themselves out over more days (lessening the crowds overall), that the budget will be spread even thinner (upping the chances of a bad event), or that there are some good plans for this Haunt season that may entice guests to go more often.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Additions like RiverRacers and AlpenFury were both announced on August 8th last year (with both having 8/8 date campaigns). This year's could come at any time throughout August, but I'd bet that it will be announced the same day season passes actually go on sale. I'm sure Six Flags has not been very happy with all of the people who've managed to buy 2026 passes through parks not named Canada's Wonderland. Instead of being able to release it on their own, online sleuths have been going through every combination of URL to find the sale and have been posting links before the park is ready to begin selling any 2026 passes. There is still an issue between Six Flags and Cedar Fair's pass systems which has made it difficult for some guests (who bought their 2026 pass outside of CW) to gain entry into Six Flags parks. If Six Flags really wants to make guests happy, they really need to do what they can to make sure that the new attractions have their grand openings by Memorial Day. I don't think we'll be seeing anything that can't reuse existing parts of the ride buildings/requires a lot of custom figures to be made. My current guess is that it will be either something from another park or an off-the-shelf attraction. That rules out a non-screen-based Peanuts dark ride and almost definitely rules out a new Phantom Theater. Six Flags could surprise us and give Kings Island a really good themed family thrill attraction, but I doubt they'll do that for a park they see as a season pass cash cow. There is a chance that if the new attraction goes in The Crypt's building it can reuse a lot of what is already in the queue line.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Very much agreed. The cuts will keep coming and terms and conditions will continue to be a scapegoat for bad decisions. The only thing that might actually decrease pass sales for Kings Island would be if the prices were raised toward where they need to be for a park of this caliber — or if operations completely crash (but let's not think about that). Companies like Herschend and United Parks & Resorts understand that these parks are expensive to run. Six Flags seems to keep ticket prices low not because they want to remain affordable, but because they fear what would happen if they charged anything closer to the standard rates set by the aforementioned companies. Unfortunately spending $175 - $200/year (only $20 - $50 more than current KI Gold Pass prices) on a Six Flags season pass isn't something many vocal guests are willing to do either.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
More 2026 Six Flags pass sales have been discovered by playing with the purchasing website URLs. These websites are for many of the Legacy Six Flags parks and follow the trend of the MVP sale we saw for Canada's Wonderland. Apparently Cedar Point has blocked access to their 2026 pass sales website, but those who were able to use it say their passes are active. Could this mean that we will soon see 2026 season passes go on sale for the rest of the parks? It should also be noted that some 2026 season pass graphics at Canada's Wonderland show a Gold Pass card with both the Canada's Wonderland logo and the Legacy Six Flags logo on it; however Wonderland's website only includes the Canada's Wonderland logo. I have to wonder why they would put the old logo on a new graphic when the merged company has its own logo that could be used. Did they decide the corporate logo should not be used in the parks for things like this? So far we have seen 2026 season pass sales for Canada's Wonderland, Cedar Point, SF New England, Magic Mountain, SF Over Georgia, SF Great America, SF St. Louis, Great Adventure, Darien Lake, Great Escape, SF Over Texas, and Fiesta Texas. I'd be hesitant of buying a 2026 pass before any sales are announced as Six Flags has proven themselves untrustworthy. These also do appear to be 2026 pass sales pages, despite not saying 2026 on them. Some interesting tidbits: Not all parks are "offering" a 2026 Silver Pass. All parks "offer" a 2026 Gold Pass and a 2026 Prestige Pass. These purchasing portals look a lot like the Cedar Fair parks purchasing portals, but with yellow headers. There is no mention of THE FLASH Pass, except for in the header menu, nor is FastLane mentioned. The Prestige benefit is listed as "1 Single Use Skip-The-Line Pass Per Visit". The Legacy Six Flags websites don't mention access after Labor Day, while Canada's Wonderland specifically mentions Haunt and Winterfest. The Legacy Six Flags purchasing portals use a two letter location name (such as "sf-la" for Magic Mountain), while the Legacy Cedar Fair purchasing portals use a two letter park name (such as "cf-cw" for Canada's Wonderland or "cf-ca" for Carowinds). Michigan’s Adventure will not be open this fall
This is one reason why I wish Six Flags and Cedar Fair would have at least tried to introduce themselves as a new company, rather than as the Cedar Flags MegaHyperCorp. This massive corporation should really be three distinct companies with, at most, some form of parent company that can help keep them balanced as competitors. 13 (of the 40+) parks each and a whole lot of region sharing. As much as they deserve a lawsuit over this, I fear that would only harm the parks and not those that made the bad decisions that led the company to do this. Instead of smart, confident, and calculated decisions we are seeing the whole chain cowering behind sparse press releases and social media posts. Rollouts are rushed and sloppy while overall operations have suffered severely. One of the earliest bad decisions they made was taking the Six Flags name for the combined company. It was used because of the brand recognition, but it seems nobody realized that Six Flags was recognized as a bad brand. At least United Parks & Resorts is still sometimes referred to as SeaWorld. We could've had people referring to HyperGiga Entertainment Corporation by still calling it Cedar Fair. The use of the Six Flags name is why there are still a ton of people who believe Six Flags bought out all of the Cedar Fair parks, and is likely a major factor as to why some feelings were majorly soured by the merger.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
This logo (minus the WEBN lizard and letters) is not too hard to recreate for anyone with a basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator and the willingness to put in the work. Following current design trends and Six Flags brand standards would also push for some new variation on this logo. I made my own version using the current Kings Island logo and a modernized FearFest logo. If Six Flags were to look for a new brand to use, FearFest could be an easy move. It has legacy brand recognition at parks like KI, has an alliterative name, and has not historically been used by Legacy Cedar Fair or Legacy Six Flags.
