  1. I am just waiting to see when the other areas of the park get this same treatment. I would love to see Oktoberfest get an overhaul and make it look more German esque.
  2. This thread keeps getting better and better, I love the side by side comparison shots, really gives me an idea of how the park looked.
  3. Jasper posted a topic in Kings Island
I was reading on the Park Executives section of the site and I read about Ruth Voss and at the bottom it said that the park still continues the tradition of a Beast walkback, is this true? I have never seen a walk back group in the morning going towards The Beast, if there is one I just must have missed it.
  4. What I liked about Paramount. -Theming, I cannot stress enough about how much I loved the park when the theming was in abundance it felt like. -Overall atmosphere of the park, it felt like it was more of a vacation destination and you cherished every minute you spent there, not saying I don't now because that is far from the truth. -The Paramount license rights, such as Top Gun, Drop Zone, Face/Off, etc. -I don't think this has any direct connection with Paramount, but I absolutely loved HBL, and even Nickelodeon Central when it first opened, now we have Peanuts, who I think it is safe to say most children are not very familiar with. -The music played throughout the park. -The slogans, a la, Where The Magic Of The Movies Meets The Thrills Of A Lifetime! What I like about Cedar Fair. -The addition of world class rides such as Diamondback and WindSeeker. -The revamping of certain areas such as the new looking Planet Snoopy and the Coney Mall overhaul. -The park seems to be much cleaner over the past couple of years. -The benefit of being able to have a Platinum Pass and get into any Cedar Fair park, this is probably my all time favorite thing about Cedar Fair owning the park(s) now. Overall, I still prefer Paramount solely because of the atmosphere and the theming around the park, I still love the park and think Cedar Fair is doing a great job with it. I cannot wait to see what happens with other areas of the park in the near future and cannot wait to see what more world class rides Cedar Fair has up their sleeve for our beloved Kings Island.
  5. I agree that Delirium needs an overhaul, big time. Instead of having the bright yellow with red and white checkers on it, it simply has gone to like a real pale looking scheme. Even the logos have peeled off on the gondola.
  6. I am going to ride WindSeeker first and foremost, then depending on the time, ride either WindSeeker again, or Vortex, then line up closest to Firehawk and try and be the first train on that, or possibly Diamondback since I was second train of the year on that last year.
  7. At first the photo didn't load and I thought you may have been referring to the old Eiffel Tower fence around the observation deck. From what I have read it was only about chest high at one point.
  8. http://www.screamscape.com/html/kings_island.htm Just posted by Screamscape.
  9. I have to agree, I don't think a yellow and green color scheme fit The Beast very well. I think a black train with a sort of red trim on it would look....Beastly.
  10. Paul, as always great photos. Some of these are very interesting, actually all of them are, I loved The Beast vs. The Racer one.
  11. The second picture, to me anyway, is when the park was at it's peak. I miss those days.
  12. Wish they still had that, it would make the train seem more like a ride than just an easy way to Boomerang Bay
  13. Are those pictures from the KI&MV RR?
  14. I am kind of bummed to see that there is going to be no ERT for Diamondback and Beast, well as far as we know now. I am looking forward to having a new set of rides to get in some laps on before the park opens. Also, what I like about this is how it is so close to Firehawk, now I might be able to beat the crowds to Firehawk and FoF and get a couple of rides in.
  15. I have never noticed or even knew about the old queue house. I will have to look more closely next time I visit the park.
  16. Everytime I check back to this thread my jaw drops farther and farther. Keep up the amazing, stellar work Paul!
  17. ^Tony and Tyler's blog was IMO the standard by which ALL Amusement Park Blog standards should be set by. It was really enjoyable to read and they did some pretty cool stories and had some really, really interesting photos.
  18. I bet they said, "Watch this, we will take a picture of a footprint in the snow and watch KICentral go crazy on the forums." So far, they have succeeded if that was indeed their master plan.
  19. Great photos Paul, that is a really cool photo of Winterfest. I look forward to reading this thread every day more and more.
  20. I do think The Vortex line would look better like that but as Robbie pointed out that only on the busiest of busy days does it spill out for a long distance. Also, when Vortex runs three trains at once it has an amazing capacity and can move the line through very fast.
  21. I agree with Paul on this one, except I have a question of one thing, isn't it going to be a little jammed with all 3 exits coming together at one point?
  22. When I first saw it I thought maybe SOB was making a comeback, then I smacked myself and said why did I even think of something that silly.
  23. Thank you Paul, and thank you for the amazing pictures!
  24. Can someone tell me more about this photo like where it was located and what it was in the park, I am little confused.
  25. These pictures are very entertaining, I look forward to seeing these more and more.
