agreed. would love to have more KI exclusive type foods. maybe more colors of ice cream with flavors you dont see anywhere else. or make the blue ice cream into different stuff. blue ice cream sundaes, etc. be cool if they had something like the crazy mason milkshake bar at KI with that but that wont happen. (ive had a dessert craving all day if you cant tell lol) i also think tho it would be great to have more options of different international foods. german food in the festhaus. more bbq style stuff in the coney mall area. go real wild and have like roadkill themed foods with rivertown.

If I could add a NEW theme to the park, I'd want to make Action Zone a graveyard of sorts. Have the rides there that aren't spooky themed be themed around nostalgic old rides like screamin demon, Firehawk, etc. the graveyard of the dead rides. would make sense with the nostalgia in the area with SOB. aside from that, I think a new area where the theater used to be would be cool. maybe add a dark coaster, add some flatter rides and then some kind of mysterious swamp coaster or something, make it similar to rivertown but not quite. could be the 'abandoned/forgotten' side of rivertown

I wish they would either revive the international restaraunt above the entryway or put something else there.

I never got the chance to ride phantom theater as it was replaced by scooby by the time i started going to KI when i was younger. but after hearing about it for years and seeing old clips of it it intrigued me. after watching the show last year i was beaming at the thought of them reviving it. id love to see it come back modernized, with Happy feet playing as you reach the end of the ride

Ill say it til Im blue, they missed the perfect oportunity to bring back phantom theater for a new audience to enjoy the ride after a successful show the last two seasons

I'm actually looking forward to the new app. If it means I can quite literally go to the park without having to bring my wallet in for anything, that's great. Makes it a lot less stressful for me.

Me and my friends are already preparing and making our plans for our first visit of the year to KI. I don't wanna go in April because it'll be hectic as its opening month I assume, but me and my friends are thinking of end of May. Would it still be busy by then? Or would the crowds have cooled down (somewhat) by then. I know school years ends in May, but was wanting to try and squeeze a visit in between opening month and before the official summer crowds hit.

possibly but its already passed the ten-year mark at this point. I would see it being changed though cause boo blasters is sad to look at at this point. barely any guns work and there's just neon paint splattered everywhere. that being said, I hope they don't plan to get rid of the ride concept cause I love going in there to cool off on a hot summer day. I don't see any theming changing unless they were to turn all of Planet Snoopy into Camp Snoopy. and if that happened, I think the castle would change themes as well.

oh is that what it is? I had no idea lol. i just didnt recognize so many trees being cut around the area but it also couldve just been to make it easier to find the road.

I don't have a specific source for this, it's entirely speculation. But I looked at the live video footage today and noticed quite a bit of trees cut from around Orion and it looks like theres a road that ventures off to a building or something behind Orion. I couldn't tell for sure what it was but I saw several cars leaving Area 72 so it makes me curious. Do you think there is going to be something added to Area 72 in the near future? Not saying this year, but maybe in the next couple years a flat ride is added?

i dont live near the area so coming from my small town, there isnt a whole lot to do to keep me busy. i mainly just work and then get on here to chat, check in on things, and watch old videos on my phone or on youtube of ki history, defunct ride povs, etc. ive expanded more learning about the other Cedar Fair parks since i got the all park passport this year, but yeah, thats what i do mainly waiting for it to open back up

I personally prefer Orion over Diamondback because it doesnt bother my head so much. For some reason when I ride Diamondback, i'm not sure if its just going slightly faster or slightly steeper on the first drop, but it puts a lot of pressure to my head and is very uncomfortable, using making me motion sick. i dont have this issue on orion, but im not sure what the difference maker is. Diamondback isn't a bad ride at all, I just have a better time with Orion cause it doen't cause the head pressure.

i've been saying the same thing myself. i hate to see it go cause i love The Bat, but with its age and especially with that incident happening, i can see it being removed in the next 5 years. i had assumed that anyways with how long its been there, but that incident definitely furthers my belief.

If you're counting down from the time winterfest ends to the time KI opens again, and keeping entertained on KICentral (me lol)

two somewhat funny stories (to me) 1. Back in 2018 like a month before Firehwk closed, I was with my dad and brothers riding it for the first (and only) time. I had a spare phone my dad had gotten me for $1 from a friend because my phone was at its end, so they had me using the spare until they could get me a new one. long story short, its in my back pocket and im thinking itll be okay because i was wearing skinny jeans and the ride goes face down, so i didnt think my phone would fly. On the big first drop it managed to slip out of my pocket and hit the ground right at the lowest point. I realized after it was missing but they told me to come back another day to get it. im freaking out thinking its shattered since it had no case and was an old samsung phone anyways. i come back a week later and go to lost and found, and somehow the phone is still on mirculously. they show me the phone and have me put my password in and it works. we were all cheering and they said i mustve been lucky cause it wasnt shattered, no cracks, no dents, nothing. it was perfectly fine. 2. this happened on Mystic Timbers last summer. i swear by wearing a fannypack and my friends always gave me flack for it saying i looked goofy. anyways me and my friends were riding mystic timber and the one i was sitting next to had his hands up and was cheering as we went along the ride. right as we get to the dip before the tunnel he goes "this is awesome!" and as soon as he says it, his glasses fly off. we both were completely silent in the tunnel and he said "this was terrible" once we got back to the station, we were told it was unlikely theyd be able to find them with how grassy the area is and i dont think they were ever recovered, so my friend had to call his mom and tell her he lost his $500 GLASSES (which he failed to tell us the price of until that moment). ever since then my friends carry fannypacks and now when we ride any rides i remind my friend to put the glasses his fannypack lol.

I would say my thoughts arent all 2024 suggestions, but just things i think of that id like to see in the near future at KI. 1. More OPEN drink stations. During the summer last year my friends and I kept having the issue of only two or three drink stands being open on the really hot summer days. not sure why this was, but there should be at least 2 drinks stands opn in each area of the park, Action Zone, rivertown, kiddie land, etc. i saw a lot of people get overheated and ambulances come in last summer for them and i feel like the more drink stands would help prevent it from happening os much. 2. Action Zone redone: Action Zone needs it baddddd. Banshee is fine, bat is fine, but my main concern is the Invertigo/congo/timberwolf area. If anything, I would enhance theming on The Bat and Banshee, take out timberwolf, Invertigo, and congo and make that an alternate entryway, maybe with a coaster going over the entryway or something. could make entry a lot easier into the park. 3. Enhanced theming/lights: I love seeing all the lights on the rides at night when doing nightrides, and want more of it. Ill always say more theming. 4. More trees/nature spots/natural shade: id love having more trees and natural shading areas for summer days.

With the news from yesterday of name changes coming to some of the rides in Planet/Camp Snoopy at KI, it had me thinking: What rides are there at Kings Island that you would rename, and what would you rename it to?

I'd love to see something like Five Guys or In-N-Out Burger in the park.

so being the ambassador position is no longer a thing, im guessing that means ki isnt going to be as pleasant of an experience. maybe for just me atleast. i saw them around everywhere and often times since me and my friends are fascinated by coasters and how theyre built, designed, marketed, etc, we would talk to the ambassadors frequently. always nice people. my season cups got stolen last year because i couldnt afford a locker to put them in when getting on Mystic Timbers, so the ambassador i talked to went and had my season cup transferred to the season long paper cup pass, but still gave me two season cups since they were actually my family's. i have nothing but good things to say about ambassadors. i do remember last summer seeing an ambassador and manager escort someone out of The Beast line that was threatening to fight someone who wouldnt move in line since there was a giant vomit spot in front of them that they didnt wanna risk slipping in trying to jump over it. was probably the funniest encounter ive had

i know their budget is different, but i know in pigeon forge tenneesse theres a place called the Island, and it has all these stores and shops and above them they use the space as hotel rooms for the margaritaville restaraunt and resort. i think it would be cool for them to do something similar if it was possible, using the second stories of the shops on international street as hotel rooms. or they could honestly even just use them as 'dorm rooms' for all the student staff that chooses to work there over the summer or something like that.
