Kings Island General Discussion 2025
Would love more PT merch, I wear the shirt/hoodie they sold for Encore everytime I’m at the park (shamelessly sharing concepts I’ve made)

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
So I will say: I’m fine with them making the mazes upcharge without telling passholders, and I do know I said in previous messages that the pricing was too low for the express lanes, but I will say I think it’s misleading and unfair to yet again raise the price of an all season express pass ticket for the second time in 24 hours. Props to the park if they’re trying to limit the amount of express passes sold, but also I’d rather them just stick to a constant price and if they sell out they sell out rather than randomly changing the price without warning. Also like I know it wouldn’t be in the park’s benefit, but I wish they sold a non-express all-season haunt pass.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
I do wonder how limited this was, I didn’t think this would be something that would sell out (Admittedly if they had a non-express option for like 30-40 maybe, I would’ve gotten that, even though just paying per night would be way more effective. I also am curious what the lines will look like this season, because the upcharge could be inconvenient enough for families with younger kids or passholders just trying it out so it’s included enough for them to skip the houses. But I feel like comparatively, the house+expresses+ conjuring ticket is too close to the base prices for the regular tickets that I can see the express-regular queue ratio being off for this event. (Also let’s face it, even if it’s slightly less crowded people will still pay and the upcharge will stick. Really the only people in the park being affected by this are the poor customer service workers and line attendants who’ll get screamed at by the 90% of people who don’t know the houses are upcharge this year)

Phantom Theater revival concept
So honestly I’m 95% confident a phantom theater thing is going in boo blasters next year, so here’s my prediction list: -I’m pretty confident on them keeping the same ride system. The current ride system seem to be reliable, and changing it/gutting the building seems like it would add cost to the budget which could be spent on theming, and also displace the indoor theater/meet and greet space and important entertainment production spaces. There’s also a lot of storage space with the current layout that’s being utilized, and also a custodial trash section between the building and international street which really prevents the entrance from being moved there. I think if they do reuse the same system though, I’m split on them making it a shooter ride (more on that below) because that would basically eliminate the pepper’s ghost scene from returning. Assuming it’s reused, I think no new cars will be added (half were removed when phantom changed to Scooby) and the track layout remains in mostly the same direction (maybe the track is twisted to face the stage in the first scene). -Even if the ride they decide to build is screen-based, at the very least one animatronic of the Maestro will be included in the queue, and the FunTVs will be removed. -All the characters make a return. The Mighty Bosco (a character alluded to but never actually seen) is featured more prominently in the new attraction. More gut feeling prediction, but I think either a new female performer is introduced, or one of the previous minor characters (Willard Warbler or one of the stagehands come to mind) is gender swapped. -The current entrance remains the same, and the current amount of lighting in the queue house is dimmed. -The original statue busts are repainted and used in the queue. -Assuming all the Boo Blasters props aren’t removed, one the knight figures will be reused in the new phantom attraction. Assuming Sally Dark Rides helps with the attraction (it’s rumored, they’ve worked in the Six Flags parks before, and have collaborated with the original production company who created the original Phantom Theater) some sort of reference to Boocifer remains in the attraction, maybe a portrait or something. The skeletons from BBoBH are reused during Haunted as decoration or in a house, and the rest of the props are sent to the existing Boo Blaster locations are spares. -For the announcement of the attraction, my date predictions are 1. The week before or directly on September 1 (right around the end of the initial MVP sale, and allows them to put advertisements on any construction walls they put up) or 2. Directly at the start of Haunt or September 25 or 3. October 31 because Halloween and spooky, but honestly that’s too long to wait for me. Now here’s random nitpicks I hope they avoid: -If the ride is an interactive shooter attraction (which I’m 50/50 on which way they’d go with that) I’m hoping they use a flashlight shooting system similar to the planned Five Nights at Freddy’s Sally Dark Ride or the Monsters Inc ride in Tokyo Disneyland (especially if they don’t only use primarily screens with it and do a situation like Boo Blasters with physical props). More importantly though, I don’t want the storyline of the ride to include like a “paranormal investigators” plot like they added to DarKoaster. I think that will date the attraction and makes it look tackier. -The name of the attraction ideally is just kept as “Phantom Theater” if they want to differentiate it from the original, I’d like them to make a small change like calling it “The Phantom Theater”, “Phantom Theatre”, or I’d even be fine with “Phantom Theater: Revival” since it’s sorta a theatrical term. I do not want the name of the new version to be anything along the line of “Phantom Theater: Return of the Maestro” or anything else that isolates this version as just a sequel.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
(Sorry, the last shirts don’t have the snickers logo in it, I photoshopped them in for a bit, but honestly looking back I could see the park doing that lmao) This was at the KI trading company. I think they might’ve been put out today. They had the 25 merch on magnets, a button, shirts, and a hoodie. They also had some new pins and shirts with a pumpkin design.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
Not sure if anyone’s posted on another page about this yet, so sorry if this is a repeat, but I saw this merch in the park today, and it is interesting to me that they acknowledged the 25th anniversary on the merch but not in any advertising around the park.

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
I was in a state of shock to properly process the announcement lol, but my prediction is this the new ride opens at some point next year (pending delays) and is not one of the projects delayed. The dark ride system means it’s a ride that all ages can ride regardless of height or physical abilities, and it’s able to operate in bad weather. I think if the new ride wasn’t planned for 2026, they wouldn’t close the ride this early into the season.

Invertigo: The Next To Go?
I’ve heard somewhere that the lift cable for the first lift was completely cut/snapped during an evacuation. I don’t know how true this is, but explains the extended downtime and makes sense for the park to remove it instead of fixing it considering it’s low capacity and downtime (I would suspect if they chose to quietly remove a ride, this would probably be one of their top 3 that fit the criteria they seem to have). But hopefully it doesn’t close, especially if it’s unexpectedly, because that means people would be complaining about “the Invertigo plot” for the next 10+ years. Invertigo? Yeah, I hope it invertistays!

Looney Tunes Planet Snoopy Retheme Concept
With the fact that the legacy Cedar Fair Peanuts license expires at the end of this year and isn’t removed (and that peanuts merch was put on sale at the park recently) some people have talked about snoopy and the peanuts leaving the park in favor of the Looney Tunes. He’s my ideas for a looney tunes area in the park. Here’s my ride name replacement suggestions (although it really doesn’t matter which character goes to what ride for the most part) Charlie Brown’s Windup- Gossamer Ghoul Spin Joe Cool’s Dodgem School- Michigan J. Frog Dancing School Woodstock Express- Bug’s Bunny Express (Or Beastie if you want a throwback, but it wouldn’t fit with the rest of the theming) Snoopy vs Red Baron- Foghorn Leghorn’s Flight School Woodstock Whirlybird- Daffy Duck Helicopter Tours Character Carousel- Remains the same basically The Great Pumpkin Coaster- Elmer’s Opera (Theming based on the What’s Opera Doc? short) Surf-Dog- Duck Dodgers: Galactic Adventure Peanuts Off-Road Rally- Looney Tunes Road Rage Snoopy’s Junction- Bugs Bunny Express Linus’ Beetle Bugs- Lola’s Lady Bugs Snoopy’s Space Buggies- Marvin The Martian’s Space Buggies Kite Eating Tree- Sylvester’s Tree House Franklin’s Flyers- Taz’s Tornado Twirl Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers- Road Runner Run | Theming remains the same with Acme crates and supplies placed around the ride area. With the audio system, I can definitely see the “meep meep” sound effect being played when you reach the deadend track. Woodstocks Airrail- Tweety Bird Flight Charlie Brown’s Rushing River Log Ride- Kenton’s Cove Keelboat Canal | Only ride I’m not connecting to the Looney Tunes branding, the name being a reference to a legacy attraction. Ride remains the same except for removal of peanuts sculptures. Sally’s Sea Plane- Porky’s Bus Ride Linus Launcher- Tasmanian Twister Boo Blasters on Boo Hill- Stays the same. Just kidding, if you know me you know I’m gonna suggest Phantom Theater 2! Peanut Showcase Theater- Looney Tunes Theater | Inside is refurbished into a small theater that plays Looney Tunes shorts on loop throughout the day (a indoor break attraction that requires minimal staffing) Beagle Scout Acres- Rethemed to Bugs Bunny Burrows Really I’d feel indifferent to any retheme of the children’s area since I’m physically unable to ride 80% of the rides. The only rides I feel like this would really benefit would be Soapbox Racers since I can see the road runner theme working really well for that and I also like the idea of a movie theater since I love attractions like that at parks. Also my only gripe with the current snoopy theming is the generic pop music in the land, I’d love for them to make it more cartoon specific. Even though I mostly grew up on the snoopy theming, basically all the themes of the kids area has just been “[B-Tier Cartoon Character’s] crazy spinner”, so to me as long as the kids are having fun it doesn’t cheapen the park if the looney tunes theming is added to this location (Which is not the case for me if DC was given a retheme of a current area, even if its Action Zone) I do wonder what the logistics of this would be considering the Peanuts license expires without renewal this year. I think on its own, considering that the peanuts branding is admittedly minimal, it’s a project that could easily be completed in the offseason and for cheap considering they could keep all the rides (plus added bonus if boo blasters is getting/was planning to get a redo in the 2026 season), but when this projects being done to 8 or so parks, I wonder if this would be feasible for Six Flags to do versus what it would cost to renew the Peanuts’ license. I would love the kids area to be like the Sesame Street lands at Seaworld parks or any of the Disney or Universal kids lands, where families can ride a lot of attractions together, but also like obviously I’d prefer that since I won’t be riding Peanuts Off-Road Rally as it is (believe me I tried many many times)

OFFICIAL: The Conjuring is coming to Kings Island Haunt
Images taken from the KI pass holders Facebook page, but now I’m confident that the Conjuring experience will go in the Blackout/Club Blood building and a new maze is currently being constructed in the Crypt/Tomb Raider building. (Which also not to go into speculation mode, but I think most of the leftover Crypt theming will be incorporated into this maze, which is a great outcome for me if there’s not a new attraction going into this space)

OFFICIAL: The Conjuring is coming to Kings Island Haunt
Still 50/50 on if this is Crypt building or Blackout spot. There’s a new maze coming alongside this, and The Crypt has a longer queue considering this seems to have limited capacity (likely working on a reservation system). But it’s also unclear if they would want more space to allow for more capacity in the escape room, which the Crypt building would give them.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
I think the phantom theater fans never learned the lesson from the attraction: The performers refused to let go of their past, staying in their theater for decades after the audience left, ultimately corrupting them into these phantom characters. Faces rotting, skin decaying, legs falling off I guess (?) They hang onto the thing they love, performing, but their acts don’t go as well as they did in their prime. The rabbit is now a demon, the mirror breaks, everything is scary. Ultimately, sometimes its best to let go of the past instead of clinging to the past. That being said, if a phantom theater reboot isn’t announced for this season I’m going to be hopping mad!

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Legally Boo Blasters is on International Street (even though it’s in the same staffing section as Planet Snoopy). The other parks BBoBH have a different ride system and smaller show buildings compared to KI though.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Here’s my elaborate thoughts on any 2026 ride: 1. All of this will probably get disproven in like a week, but I think the new attraction won’t be in the Crypt building, and a Conjuring house with a live tour guide will be placed in the building this season. Haunt auditions mention a theatrically trained guide, and the available space within the building allows that better than the old blackout building (also explaining why they hosted the daytime Madame Fatales tours last season, and if they began to upcharge houses adding two new experiences to the lineup would help add value to the event). I think we also would’ve seen more demolition of the tomb raider parts of the building (the exterior, the outdoor queue, the fright lane pass sign, etc.) 2. I’m pretty confident that the new attraction would be a Boo Blasters retheme, since the current iteration is the longest amount a dark ride has been in the park, and it’s an even year to do the retheme. I’m split between if it would be Phantom Theater reboot or peanuts interactive dark ride. Phantom Theater has a cult following (just look at my posting history) and is the only legacy attraction that has a major merch presence in the main gift shop. This project would require minimum demolition of the building since the constant ride system and architecture could be mostly left in tact. The concept drawing shown in the surveys for a Peanuts ride looks to be a clone of the Sally dark rides track system, which has about half of the current omnimover’s ride capacity, and more room for variable ride loading times. I could see a Phantom Theater reboot that’s not a screen ride but includes mostly static figures would be more cost effective than a screen-based attraction (looking at how often all the screens in Mystic Timbers are functional). A rethemed ride also allows for no increase in the staffing needed for the park, and could reasonably be done within the off season. Site markers (or what people have reported as site markers anyway) were seen around the area as well. Both these dark rides appeal to families, which seems to be the goal of KI’s new editions. 3. The current plan of the six flags company known as Project Accelerate reportedly includes adding new attractions while closing old, expensive to maintain ones. I think based on rumors it’s inevitable that we lose one or more major attractions by next season, so I think any attraction, even if it’s done on the cheap, helps soften that operational blow. Also just gut feeling, but I think they’d put a coaster in The Vortex plot and I just can’t see that happening this year, especially since last year’s guest surveys use that space in at least one of their proposals and that’s not enough time to make a turn around on that project. They also just opened Snoopy’s Soapbox racers last season, so I don’t think they’d add a purely family coaster so soon after that.

The Conjuring House Coming to Kings Island - RUMOR
They released information for haunt auditions today and I think this basically confirms it for me (it seems similar to what they do at the other six flags conjuring houses). Just based off of my assumptions, I think there’s a new traditional haunted house in the blackout building (probably pirate themed from the construction) and this experience goes in the Madame Fatale’s/Crypt building, which is why they had the daytime tours last season in order to test capacity in that space (which honestly would be sad for me if it meant the queue remnants of tomb raider were demolished for this but whatever)

This boiler prop was used in the original ride, but the prop from Encore was a recreation.

Universal Studios Orlando Resort General Discussion (USO, IOA, Epic Universe)
Thought I’d share on this thread: I had the opportunity to attend AP Previews to Epic Universe this Sunday and had one of the best days I’ve ever had at a theme park. While I won’t go in depth about my day, I wanted to connect both of my theme park hyperfixations. For everyone calling for the return of the Phantom Theater ride (Including myself as it’s basically the only thing I post about on here, then Monsters Unchained is probably the closest that any rides been to capturing what I love about that ride, alongside being one of the most technologically impressive dark rides I’ve ridden in my life. The park is 10/10, no notes expect that they need Icees with their drink plan and the other universal parks and theme parks as a whole need to be just as good.

Kings Island’s Newest Merchandise
It could be released later in the season, but I’m honestly disappointed there wasn’t a series 3 of the trading cards available today.

Honestly feels like something that would be an April Fool’s joke, not that it’s a bad thing. It honestly sounds really cool.

Action Zone Redevelopment
Posting in old thread to post an updated Action Zone refresh idea amid the closure of Skyflyer. I basically chose a haunted forest/general horror theme like many people have shared ideas about (mostly because of my current hyperfixation on the dark universe land at epic universe). 1. Specter- A launched spinning coaster (basically like the Time Traveller from SDC because that’s very fun). In general, it could just be any intense coaster, I’m not picky. Would replace Invertigo & Timberwolf area. 2. Phantom Theater- Very unrealistic (and if they ever brought this IP back it would be at Boo Blasters), but I gotta include it in horror themed idea. Would replace Congo Falls & Drop Tower area. 3 & 4. Same coasters as before, no notes. 5. Swing and Steam- A creepy steampunk Screamin’ Swing (with fog effects in the center). Replaces Xtreme Skyflyer 6. Chicken Shack but scary 7. Kings Island Legacy store- Basically a gift shop selling vintage merch that has artifacts next to them (think like the PT encore lobby or search the similar store they had at Universal Studios Orlando Citywalk). Basically would be a way to save the SOB station. 8. Faustian Bargains- Coaster Connections but scary. Also Delirium can stay and just be its own thing

Xtreme Skyflyer is being Removed
https://www.visitkingsisland.com/rides-experiences/xtreme-skyflyer Sorry if it’s been shared already, but it seems that it’s been removed from the website, which I’m taking as a pretty bad sign for it staying open. My thoughts on its potential removal are that it’s probably the best attraction to close if they needed to choose one.

Controversial opinions that'll get you punched by a KI fan
Two personal opinions that are probably kinda controversial: 1) I don’t care for the Grand Carnivale event and wouldn’t mind if it didn’t return. (Mostly because I’m very picky and won’t try the food and don’t care for parades) 2) The greatly prefer the new 2022-Present International Street music: I think it really fits the park’s vibe.

Phantom Theater Haunt Idea
I’m still on my Haunt hyperfixation (which is very normal behavior to be having in January) so I made a layout for the Phantom Theater house idea (and also two other house ideas I had which I wanted to share, but didn’t think they deserved a whole new topic)
