  1. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/haunt It appears the lineup has been posted. Hotel St. Michelle is listed along with the new Area 72 zone, Alien X. We're also getting two new shows Nytewalkers (presumably like the All Wheel Sports show at California's Great America) and Terror Rising.
  2. The set pieces for Monster Rock have appeared recently at Festhaus, so it looks like the show will return for 2022. Hopefully the live band will return as well!
  3. That would be wonderful! Honestly walking around International Street with that post-show music playing with a heart full of Kings Island love has been one of the most magical experiences I've had at the park outside of WinterFest.
  4. It's a small thing but I really enjoy that they have been playing a bit of the Fun, Fireworks and Fifty song with the closing announcement this week. I'd love to see the original music show up more often like this.
  5. That's awesome news! An expanded run would be wonderful but I'm happy to have it back in any form!
  6. The Peanuts Celebration was a pleasant low-key event. It would be nice to see those offerings return, especially if that meant having something special in the shoulder seasons of either April or November.
  7. With Phantom Theater Encore developing its own following of both new fans as well as fans of the original attraction, it would be fun if the new melodies written for the show can be integrated into soundtrack for a reimagined version of Phantom Theater.
  8. I don't have a print park guide handy but I want to say it lists those end dates as well. I would certainly like for Phantom Theater to run a little longer. It's such a fun little world they've created and the ad lib lines and character beats the cast has sprinkled in throughout the run have been great!
  9. Phantom Theater Encore ends August 14th according to the official site along with the Street Party, Club KI and 70s On Demand. Off the Rails is scheduled to run until August 21st.
  10. It's been wonderful seeing some of the live entertainment ambition glimpsed at WinterFest and Grand Carnivale brought to an entire summer! I'm hopeful both Phantom Theater Encore and Off the Rails will return next season.
  11. The Decade-ent Cupcakes at Sweet Spot have been a fun little detail of the Golden Celebration. So far we've had tie-dye for the 70s, pastels for the 90s and then last week's blue velvet "denim" for the 2000s. But we're not sure what this week's cupcake represents about the 2010s and the associates at Sweet Spot didn't know either. It is a chocolate cupcake with a black and white swirl of icing and pink glittery sprinkles. Any ideas?
  12. As far as I can tell the DJ and MC for Club KI are not involved in the Street Party, so presumably they could begin the dance party as the floats clear the area like the DJ does at Grand Carnivale. But perhaps they have their reasons for not going that route with the Golden Celebration. And to echo what others have said, I am extremely pleased with the entertainment offerings this year. Not many seasonal theme parks get this many original productions (including a truly impressive nighttime spectacular) all in one summer. We are indeed very fortunate to have such an amazing lineup, particularly after a season like 2020.
  13. I do wish there was something to bridge the time between the end of the Street Party and the start of Club KI. At Grand Carnivale the DJ and dance party activated immediately after Spectacle of Color to keep the energy rolling into the evening. It's a bummer to see the energy of the Street Party dissipate so quickly when it should feed right into Club KI.
  14. I think being written by K.C. Gussler from Knott's Berry Farm is a big part of that. Knott's has been really good about channeling old-fashioned showbiz numbers into their more recent shows, particularly at Christmas, so it's great to see some of those classic vibes brought into Phantom Theater Encore.
  15. The Royal Coasters at Club KI saw a few small changes Monday evening that improved the flow of their entire set. The cast seemed to be more energized as well. It was a good night!
  16. If I had one "criticism" it would be that the show almost could be longer than just a half hour. They've created such a unique and colorful world inspired by the original attraction that I wouldn't mind seeing a couple more acts (like magic, more acrobatics/stunts, etc.) play out on the stage. It would be fun to have Phantom Theater Encore return in future seasons with newly "unearthed" performers!
  17. The Street Party is indeed fun! It's a nice complement to the already-impressive lineup of Golden Celebration offerings. We're very fortunate to have such a terrific slate of entertainment produced specifically for Kings Island this season!
  18. Looks like fun! How long are the show stops? Are they similar to the stops in Spectacle of Color and WinterFest Wonderland Parade?
  19. It's posted on the fence near the service gate in Area 72 alongside The Racer's lift hill where the parades (and presumably the Street Party) step off from.
  20. The map posted by Flight of Fear shows five "Celebration Zones" that match the show stop locations of the parades (with the addition of a stop at the front gate area):
  21. The recent KI Blog post about the show mentioned that Phantom Theater Encore was written by K.C. Gussler who is a show writer/director at Knott's Berry Farm. I'm not sure about his history with Kings Island but he does have a good sense of showmanship. That might explain why certain specific Phantom Theater beats didn't show up though.
  22. That's exactly what happened tonight. No drones but thankfully the rain held off and the rest of the show went on like usual.
  23. We noticed that too. There appears to be only a couple speakers facing the front gate so most of the audio is echoing off the International Street buildings. The area around the Bandstand has much clearer sound. Otherwise it is really awesome to see the park pull off a production of this scope!
  24. That's been our experience with many Sweet Spot items. They tend to have a great "curb appeal" in that items look really rich and tasty but most of the time the product itself is often dry and lacking flavor. We're still excited to try more of the Golden Celebration offerings though.
