This is CLP's last weekend [of 2016]. Bracketed language subject to Court interpretation the day after Labor Day. Quite literally.

So, drastic cutbacks in staffing, too. Again, vicious cycle.

Vicious cycle? DOWN last year, so save money/budget this year. DOWN again, so... People always made fun of Gary Story for always blaming the weather. In 2015, the Fair Board said it was the rainiest fair in decades. What's the excuse going to be this time? And you know this couldn't have helped the Kingdom. $19.95 with a 20 Oz Coke product this weekend. Labor Day Weekend. And giving away the gate...

Former Paramount's Kings Island Employee Now GM of Six Flags Fiesta Texas
It varies. Great talent starts in a variety of positions. Melinda Ashcraft, retired GM of SFFT, SFKK and SFOG started in rides in Georgia. Her successor was a marketer who had been at four Paramount Parks and SFDK and had managed what is now DC's Verizon Center (arena). And now, another marketer--with Paramount Parks and Mighty Ducks experience steps up at SFFT. http://patch.com/georgia/southcobb/six-flags-losing-president

With better weather and a Storm Chaser to draw thrill seekers, the 2016 Kentucky State Fair attendance was DOWN 6%. Of course the local Chamber of Commerce business boosting type rag hid this deep in the article: http://www.bizjournals.com/louisville/news/2016/09/01/kentucky-state-fair-sees-dip-in-2016-attendance.html Ladies and Gentlemen, the KSF (and perhaps KK) are facing trouble... With Storm Chaser, you'd think the fair would at least hold its own.

He's been kicked upstairs while he gently eases out. His literal absence there speaks volumes. Change is coming. Again.

Admission figures... Well, let's just say $19.95 with a 20 Oz. Coke product all this weekend. And the park is hoping for HUUUUGE crowds. Speaking of which, by now, something is typically released on the State Fair attendance figures. If things don't turn up there soon, the carnival operator may not. Whether that'd be good or bad for the Kingdom is arguable. The KSF carnival and KK already have some of the strangest ride operating hours of any fair or exposition. Having the fair well after local schools have started is hurting...

I had planned to be at the Kentucky State Fair today. Then a meeting came up that I dared not miss. Sounds like it would have been a great day to be there.

"...could be contributing..." "...may be the cause..." The headline does not agree with the story, which is why I didn't post it yesterday. The NPS is apparently speculating. Speculating is not investigating. Thus I did not post that article yesterday.

Mr. Innes was a very special PR person. Cedar Fair wanted to be sure he had a proper home.

Thunder Road was a very different ride than Racer. After a time, the design patent expires. A major factor in modern days is industry safety standards. They are far different now than even just 20 years ago. That's one reason that even when Taft owned parks, rides like Grizzly at Kings Dominion were "loosely based" on Coney Island of Ohio's Wildcat, not clones.

Regardless, depending on who they buy it from, they may get nothing at all: A. Big Dipper is a generic name. See Camden Park. B. A seller cannot sell more than what they own. Who owns the Geauga Lake Big Dipper at this point is a darn good question. See also, as to the rest of your question, Zippin Pippin and Bay Beach.

...and, perhaps more relevant, its location both geographically and ehtnographically. That area is not the easiest to do business in. The local governments and residents make some very unrealistic demands for an area with not the brightest potential (hmmm, connected?).
