Future of Planet Snoopy
As someone who spends at least half if not more of my visits to the park with my two young kids, I couldn't possibly agree with this more.

I mean the only correct answer to this is no we can't be.

Every time I go up there It seems like they take us right to the top. When is there the option to go to the lower floor?

KI Home Decor
Ok so on this topic, I wanted to pick up some merch this year, but I'm wondering what you guys think is worth it. What do you think are the best small items to pick up from the park? Really wanting to get a few items rather than just one really expensive one.

I'm right there with you man. The KI Giga didn't end up being everything we hoped and dreamed it might be (as far as length and height are concerned) but F it, this is a time to be happy. Kings Island is getting the biggest coaster it's had in a while, might as well bask in the hype and get excited. Awesome work! Love the detail on the station and the fact you can see the other rides around.

I dont know man, I'm passed it. It sucks that they didn't make it taller or longer, but **** it KI is getting a Giga and you know we're all going to love it. Lift hill being under 300 feet doesn't really bug me, I'm just happy at least the drop is 300 (or slightly more). At this point I think we should just accept this thing for what it is and just see how we like it when it opens.

Kings Island 2019 Discussion
Oh wow. For me it's the opposite. I've been to the park several times this season already and I haven't seen it running yet. I tend to go during the week though.

I get it, personally though I just think it sounds really old fashioned. I think the other names just sound a lot cooler. Just my 2 cents though. If that is the name though I'm sure it'll grow on me.

Racer 2019?
That's not the part I have trouble understanding. I'm wondering why they don't run the Blue instead of the Red since IIRC they just did some re-tracking work on it. It certainly feels that way at least.

You might be a KI addict if you...
Id love to see any of these you complete!

Gotcha. I was thinking someone would tell me they just don't open it until later in the season.

Shows and entertainment - Totally 80s, Country, Gravity, etc
Saw some rehearsal going on for Totally 80's while at the park Thursday. Looks like it could be a pretty fun show!

Racer 2019?
I've been wondering why every time I go to the park on a day that's not busy (which is what I usually try to do) they're only running the Red train. On opening day I had a ride on the Blue train and the work they did REALLY shows. Its a much more enjoyable ride than the Red side, yet if they're running one train it's always red. Why go through all the trouble and then have guests riding the crappier side most of the days the park operates?

You guys could totally be right but it does seem like a bit of a reach to me. I guess we'll just have to see.

What Are Your Earlies Memories of KI?
you were able to ride SoB at 5 or six? Jesus Christ...my son just turned 7 and isn't quite tall enough to ride Racer... As far as my earliest memories of the park, I consider myself lucky to have witnessed (as a very small child) the very end of KI before Paramount, but most of my early memories of the park are from the PKI days. Early memories: -Riding with my dad on what I'm fairly certain was "Sunshine Turnpike". I never knew the name of it, but I've always had the memory of riding around little sports car looking things, and definitely remember an underpass. -Phantom Theater: as a kid, I probably associated this attraction with KI more than any other (maybe with the exception of the Eiffel Tower if you consider that an attraction). This was always one of the first things I wanted to go on, and as long as it was there I never felt the trip was complete until riding this. Maybe the one thing I most wish hadn't been removed from the park. -I definitely remember seeing flight commander and thinking that it looked scary as hell. -Hanna Barbara Land: while I do think that Planet Snoopy is great, I kind of feel bad for my kids that they missed out on Hanna Barbara land. It was so awesome to see all the characters from the cartoons I loved so much. I miss seeing that Mystery Machine. -Seeing a show in the kids theater and my little sister being picked out of the crowd by Barney Rubble so he could ask her to marry him (or something? It was part of the story I think? If someone could provide any clarity on what show this was please do tell! This would have been earliy 90's. If I had to guess I'd say 91-93 sometime in there.) -Those candy apples that were completely covered in some kind of red candy. It looks like they may still sell those but I haven't seen one in AGES. It seemed like I saw people walking around with those all the time back in the day. -BLUE ICE CREAM! -More trees. I definitely remember there being MUCH MUCH more shade back in the day. Miss that. -LaRosas Pizza slices! I don't remember seeing any LaRosa's pizza here in Dayton prior to the 2000's, so when we would go to Kings Island I always thought the Pizza there was so great because It was different from the places I was used to. I was in High School or Jr. High when one opened up near me, and was SUPER PSYCHED to be able to get that pizza whenever I wanted. Kind of wish it had stayed the rare treat I remember it being because I hardly ever think of ordering it now. -SKYLINE! It seemed for years that I couldn't imagine going to Kings Island without stopping by the Larosas near the Carousel for some Skyline. I noticed that the general area where we used to eat is still there, but now that I think of it I'm not sure if there's still a Skyline over there? I guess I'll have to check. Either way I distinctly remember there being one in that area. EDIT: OF COURSE I forgot to mention the original antique Autos! Loved that ride. I could go on and on.

I saw this tweet earlier and didn't think anything of it at all. I'm curious, what is making people think this is a teaser for the new ride? Just the fact that it seems kind of random?

Kings Island 2019 Discussion
Took my family to KI Thursday and had a great day. Finally got on the KMAA and honestly really enjoyed it. Rode Scrambler for the first time since probably around the turn of the millennium, and even though we were really there for the kids, my wife let me sneak off for a (nearly) walk on ride on MT, and later on got to ride DB. I've been several times this season already, but my Kids have only been with me maybe twice (this season). As we were walking in, my son was talking about how he wanted to ride the Viking ship, and it occurred to me that the last two seasons I've been going (took a long hiatus from the park) I haven't seen that thing running much. Last year I don't think I ever saw it running before June, and this year seems to be on the same trajectory. Anyone know what this is about? Does the Viking Ship usually stay closed until later in the season?
