Current wait times
If you have an older phone (mine's a droid maxx 4 bought last year), don't uninstall! I can't re-install the KI app on my phone as it is "not supported" on this device. I can get any other CF app but not KI. When it was installed, it worked fine. A bit disappointing, oh well.

Beast Construction Photo You Haven't Seen Yet
If you didn't know any better, you'd think that 1st picture was some sort of cold war era, early 80's bomb shelter!

How was your ride on Mystic Timbers?
No offense to the employees as I 'm sure they are told to say this, but PLEASE stop asking my how my ride was! It gets very old very quickly.

AM I INSANE?!?
I was thinking about taking the day off after Memorial Day to avoid the crowds...we shall see. KIBeast, I love your quote, so very true! "You can't be lazy and be a Dad"

Kings Island 2017 Discussion Thread
Oh man, you got me thinking...how do I convince the misses (and myself, lol) to take my 2 oldest out of school for a day before school lets out? An empty park sounds awesome right now!

What's on your list?
I pity the fool who don't like the nickname Mr. T....

Meal Deals, and meal deals
When buying an all day meal plan, IMO, the customer should assume a realistic expectation on wait time for receiving food. When that assumed expectation is not met habitually, I, respectfully, have little sympathy for sharing being a "problem" for the park.

Whats in the field
Connect X-Base with Action Zone using that area. Build a restroom. Add a couple flats. Un-clog 2 dead ends in the park. Boom. (not happening but one can wish)

Firehawk poll
Firehawk: It's ok. It's not really worth the wait, plus whenever I am there, it seems to be down quite a bit. I like X-Base, but man, the capacity of those 2 coasters usually keep me away from that area most times I visit.

How was your ride on Mystic Timbers?
I am curious to see if the MT crew will be as motivated and quick as the summer moves forward. Very impressed with the on my one visit so far.

Expand X-Base?
It seems like there is a decent amount of room in the area where SOB extended (past where Banshee currently is) that is relatively paved and open. It seems very logical that if they could connect the edge of Action Zone with X-Base, they could open up 2 dead ends as well as create more space within the park.

Kings Island 2017 Discussion Thread
The MT ride ops deserve props for really trying hard to make the line move fast and provide a great experience. THANK YOU! The ride ops for The Bat were in full goof mode on Sunday, I loved it. Actually made the 20 minute wait for Bat (yep) sort of fun.

How was your ride on Mystic Timbers?
It was a pleasure to see such a well trained and caring staff really putting effort into getting people moving so fast. Thank you. The ride is amazing. Cannot wait to ride it again a few times to really let it sink in. Sensory overload with so much to see for the 2 minutes! Shed? IMO people will forget the whole promotion of it in a few years and treat the ride for what it is: awesome.

Meal Deals, and meal deals
Not letting me edit for some reason...so I'll add this. It really wasn't a super busy day at the park either. It just stinks to see it this bad 3 weekends into it. I trust it will improve as the summer months go on, but my patience for being apologetic for the park's food issues took a bit of a hit with that experience.

Meal Deals, and meal deals
I get the whole new season, new employees thing, but I would argue that it's an unfair business practice to offer an all day meal plan, only to have 20+ minute waits any time you want something, which absolutely was the case yesterday, all over, from 11am-4pm. A realistic customer expectation has to be set when you sell a product. I *expect* to wait for a coaster on a Sunday. Not 30+ minutes for deep fried junk food. I waited 50 (!) minutes around 1:30pm yesterday and the Juke Box. Insane! Let's be honest here. This is not rocket science. Chicken fingers, burgers and fries. Deep fryer. 5 star dining it is not. Pay more, hire more, fix the problem. Period. What *really* burns me is watching the care and dedication the ride ops on MT and Beast have (apples and oranges, but still), then watching 4-5 kids laughing and looking completely apathetic at food stands like Juke Box, while people in food lines wait, and wait, and wait...

The Most Ridiculous Thing a Ride Operator has told you.
I'd rather here something quick and witty than the "HOW WAS YOUR RIDE? AWESOME." over and over and over and over. As someone whose primary goal is to ride as many rides as I can, and someone who respects the kids working there, it hurts to hear a kids ask that when you can tell he or she is just so dang tired of saying that.

The stuff of nightmares!

Ridership counts?
Yeah, it's Amazon Falls to me still. And I love that ride! A fun, quick little ride with no wait even on a hot day. I get a good laugh out of the long queue line...I rode it a ton as a kid as well and never recall it being too busy.

Ridership counts?
Yes! The Racer: Millions upon Millions Served! Congo Falls: Over 783 Served!

Sit On it - A nostalgic look back at KI...
That was a very well written and concise first installment. I look forward to the rest!

How is it like working at KI
Oh yeah, one word of advice that I'd share is this...savor the experience. Don't stress about the pay (all entry level jobs are going to lack in that!), the jerk customers, the hot sun...enjoy that fact that you are young, working in one of the best parks in the world...appreciate the moment, the days, the experience. Enjoy the park, grow as a person by dealing with the adversity it might present and be positive. And save your name tag so you can wear it to the park when you visit in 20 years and your kids can make fun of you for it "Yeah kid, I used to work for Paramount...just like Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, etc etc"

How is it like working at KI
I don't want to go into detail, but my family experienced a major tragedy the one summer I worked there, right when the season began. I remember my trainer, as well as the entire staff, was extremely kind, empathetic, and really took the time to care about the situation. After a few weeks, KI became a real refuge for me, and the professionalism and care the employees showed helped me and stuck with me to this day. Some of the nostalgia I still have for the park is due to that and I wish I could thank the trainers and staff, but that was 20 years ago. So, from my experience, it was great and was truly a 1st class operation. And I will say, as others mentioned, you will be worked hard and have to deal with people...but that is a great life experience, something you should really get used as difficult people will be something you always will have to deal with.

Ridership counts?
Thanks, appreciate it. It would be cool to see that but I can see it not being necessary from the parks standpoint.

Ridership counts?
I've seen some older threads on yearly ridership numbers, and was curious if updated ones were publicly available to see?

Guests Say The Darnest Things
I'm assuming the train has the same songs again this year? Bonanza (cool!), Kokomo (barf), Rocky Top (nice) and Cottoneye Joe (meh)?
