I regularly check the permit reports for Mason and I’m skipping past the 600,000 dollar haunted house investment, but I had to post about the Son of Beast station being condemned. Happy reading!

I felt a great disturbance in the Son of Beast revival fanboy movement, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. 

GIVE IN? In our moment of denial? I think you over estimate their chances!

Wow, I can't believe Six Flags got the city of Mason to condemn the Son of Beast station as part of the elaborate teaser campaign for an RMC! They've outdone themselves! My hopes are UP, baby!

I do look forward to an eventual revamped Action Zone.  I find it is the area on the dry side I spend the least amount of time in. 

My thinking has been that they wouldn't do something with the Son of Beast station demolition until they could tie it in with other updates.  

I did also notice on the permits site that there was a queue renovation in Planet Snoopy to maximize capacity.  I wonder what that is for.

I guess Number Five is NOT Alive then?

I guess John M. hit the nail on the head about ArieForce One! 🤣

If they are in fact tearing down the SOB station, I hope they also take the time and remove the old queue rails and clean up that whole area basically making the overlook area like it was when Top Gun/The Bat first opened.

With the Son of Beast station, condemnation does not  mean it will be torn down.

It's listed as a demolition permit under "record type"

If you think parking lot coasters look bad, try one made for flatter terrain on stilts or epic terraforming.

In the case of KI a parking lot roller coaster. going along the old Colombia road between Great Wolf Lodge and the front gate beside preferred parking would be a fantastic location for a thrill coaster.

growing up walking towards the entrance in the parking lot Face/Off was such a awesome introduction. Made the experience of walking into a park that much more memorable. Same with GateKeeper and Fury325 among others. 

I don’t think we need a front gate coaster like Cedar Point as the Eiffel Tower is the main focus point but a coaster by the side of the main gate as I stated above would be a very welcome addition.

Someone on Reddit was able to explore some of the station and queue area with permission by the park recently. Kinda surreal to see how overgrown it is over there.

You can see remnants of Wolf Pack with the removal of some of the rails and air gates, as well as wooden platforms placed above some of the track sections to be used as bridges for the haunt maze.

Condemned doesn't necessarily mean it has to be demo'ed. It just means a process of rehabilitation and inspections to be done to get it able to be permitted for use again.

I often wonder what the end game was in mind with keeping the station. I can't imagine it was kept up for the sole purpose of Wolf Pack/any other possible Haunt attraction. But then again, I guess anything is possible. I just often wonder if there was ever a plan to reuse it for another coaster or even a flat ride. 

One tends to ponder seeing as most coaster stations get leveled long with the ride itself and those stations that are kept intact are often reused for another attraction. 

Also those photos on Reddit are cool. Brought back a lot of memories from my teens/early 20's riding SoB with my cousins and friends. It's almost eerie how that station just seems like it's waiting for a train to come back from running the course but never will arrive. Glad someone was able to get some photos in before the station is either gone completely or altered.

A diversion would be part of a teaser campaign. The city condemning a structure is not part of a teaser campaign.
