Free parking in jeopardy?

Featured Replies

I just noticed KBF and CW only offer free parking to prestige passholder, and free parking is an add-on for gold and silver passes. I've been wondering if this will become a trend across Six Flags.

Ive been to both Wonderland and Knotts under Cedar Fair ownership, parking was included with platinum pass.

Didn't Cedar Point also only offer free parking for Platinum/Prestige passholders? It's a good incentive for parks where most passholders only visit 1-3 times per year. Parks like Kings Island would probably suffer from this policy since a lot of locals tend to get the Gold Pass and would be miffed if they had to pay more to park each time. Though, now that I think about it, maybe that could lead to faster parking lot repairs (and hopefully a good parking lot redesign with new trams)? All those guests could probably help to fund solar panel shade structures and new bioswale planters to reduce the urban heat island effect currently generated by all that asphalt.

If I recall, right after the acquisition there were some weird things with the Maxx Pass (as they called it). I think there were some questions as to who got the parking, or it was only your home park, or you had to pay for some sort of upgrade? Anyone remember what the situation was?

The season pass program nearly got destroyed in 2007. It took a couple years to get it back on track.

Speaking of parking, I guess when your company picnic is at KI, you can take up multiple spaces up close lol

Do you mean the program was almost destroyed through poor decisions and execution such as the intended plan to get rid of included parking with season passes, or that there was almost a decision to no longer sell season passes?
