Kings Island General Discussion 2025

Beast+ night+ full moon+ no lights after the first lift= Chef's kiss.

Also, after riding Diamondback and Orion for the first time since my SFGAm trip, I do think I will be putting Raging Bull above both, and possibly even Millennium Force.

We’re nearing mid-July, and let’s be honest—this has been really rough season at Kings Island and for the company. From staffing shakeups to cutbacks, to things like no ice, no cups, and restaurants c

Although we didn’t get a new coaster this year it is reassuring to see how much was invested in the park infrastructure during the offseason. It always makes the future of the park look a lot better w

Let's give the KI landscape team a shout out!  From the webcam, the bed in front of The Royal Fountain has looked great all season. The elephant ears they recently put out look awesome in my opinion.

I got this shirt on Sunday after seeing your pic!

Thats awesome! I'm hoping to see more PT merchandise, as I've said before I would like it if they made hats as well.

+1 for more merch, especially a hat!

I'm glad we are seeing more PT merch at KI, I haven't seen it but I wonder if there was any PT merchandise that Kings Island sold in the 90s when the ride was new.

Would love more PT merch, I wear the shirt/hoodie they sold for Encore everytime I’m at the park (shamelessly sharing concepts I’ve made)

That hat would be great!

Construction fences have gone up around the former Axe, Axe, Baby game in Rivertown. Could they be for something new or are they just part of mid-season work in the park?

They had the entire back wall of the booth (and I believe the fences up front) taken down with a pathway-sized clearing through the foliage heading back under Diamondback's helix. Some blue paint markings also indicated the location of a potable water pipe next to a lamp post. I'm interested to see if this could become either a new thing for Haunt or maybe even a new entrance area for The Conjuring: Beyond Fear. It would certainly help get around a need to retheme the indoor queue area and may entirely remove the need for an elevator to be used. The attraction is advertised as being accessible, so I'd assume that includes the entrance to it.

It could just be August maintenance. Fun to think about either way.

Apparently you can now rent hourly lockers at KI from the comfort of your phone. Signs popped up at all the locker stations with a QR code that you can scan to rent a locker at that location. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that you can rent the multi-ride locker from the mobile site, though t does appear that once you've rented one you can use that QR code to move it to that location.

I saw that during my recent visit to Cedar Point as well at the Top Thrill 2 lockers. I take it those were just added?

It sounds like a nice way to get around using the locker machines. I wonder how it will hold up with the standard human competence as I have to assume someone will end up testing its resiliency.

I'd really like to see if Kings Island could find a way to install queue line lockers like on Steel Vengeance and Siren's Curse. Mystic Timbers probably has one of the better setups to install them in the park, with the Stunt Coaster coming in close behind it. They might be able to do it for Banshee and The Beast with a little work. Diamondback, Orion, Adventure Express, and The Bat would probably do better with the Yukon Striker-style station baskets and some queue line/exit line work. I can't imagine how you accomplish any of this on The Racer. It's something interesting to think about.

But you can literally stow your carryons in the floor of The Bat and Junkyard Coaster.  Or at least when I was there last year you could. Why would they the put lockers there?

I say they should get M&Ms to sponsor the monster and then paint the pods all different colors like M&M candies and call it the M&M Monster! :P

I was thinking more if the park wanted to go harder on their loose articles policy. I know The Bat has bins for your loose articles now. Mandatory lockers would be really good if the parks wanted to avoid having to send a security team for guests with their phone out as much as they have been this year. Either that or adopt a policy like BGW has where you have to get your camera approved in order to carry it on a ride. The Bat and the Stunt Coaster probably don't need the lockers as much as other rides, but like I said, it wouldn't hurt to start installing them.

I can't count how many times I've been to KI and walk by this game and there is always someone who is bragging they are going to make every shot...

It's honestly just as entertaining to watch, in fact definitely more interesting to watch than trying yourself, speaking from experience...

Sorry if I sound dumb, but is that a photo from this season? It honestly looks like a photo from years ago.

I found it on Google. Unsure of the year lol.

It looks like a pic from a past year because there aren't as many jerseys today as there were in that photo and I don't see the sign on the side that says, "GOAT Prize" if you hit a certain amount of shots.

And the thing is actually open, so it's gotta be pre Six Flags :P

Also look at the grand prize. Looks like an early 2010s iPod Touch. I believe it's mainly been gaming consoles and Air Pods the past few years.

And the shorts are really long on the boys...it's been a while since that was in style

Some posters have gone up on Monster's fence, meaning it probably will not open for the rest of the year. I really hope it does reopen eventually. If the park decided to pull the plug then I'd love to see a Zamperla Octopus replace it. Keep the overall idea, but with improved loading and parts still in production. Whatever is lost in capacity would probably be made up by the better loading/unloading process.

I'll have to see if I can find the one I took on Friday, but that photo is just of one poster. They all say something to the extent of "Kings Island Presents The Circus".

Very fitting for Six Flags. ;)

In my opinion as my experience... I think that the 2025 season has been really good so far! Going to try to return for WinterFest! B)
