I like the Spring Expo event idea especially at a park like Silver Dollar City. I think KI would benefit from an event like that especially an event with overhead decor like umbrellas, kites, and pool noodles overhead like what Dollywood does.

I seriously need to get out there at some point. Maybe I'll make that planned MIssouri coaster trip in 2026...

I'm personally waiting to see what their next major addition is before I plan a trip there. It's definitely on my bucket list for the next several years as well as other parks I'd like to hit up as well.

Silver Dollar City is absolutely worth the trip. Easily one of the best regional theme parks in the country. The park's Christmas event is amazing.

My problem is I've been on a major park-hopping spree over the past eight years. I've now hit all but about 6 parks within 7 hours of Cincinnati, plus some that are further away. I'm running out of places within driving distance to visit :P

As much as I'd love to see the Christmas event at SDC (or any other non-local park for that matter), that's really not an option for me because of working in a warehouse (we can't take time off during peak season and usually work six days a week as well)

SDC has been on my list for about 3 years now and it never seems to work out. The park is in a really bad location geographically for me (nearly 10 hr drive) and the flights to Branson, MO are never affordable either. The other issue is that MO.is so big that you really aren't close to any other parks either. At least if you go to Orlando you have Tampa and hour away. If you go to Kings Dominion you have BGW and hour away. Even Kings Island/KY Kingdom makes a nice weekend trip for someone coming from out of town. SDC looks amazing but geographically it's been a challenge to figure out how to work it into a larger road trip...

I just checked Google Maps and according to them, SDC is roughly 3 and a half hours away from BOTH Worlds of Fun and Six Flags Saint Louis.

That is only a little bit shorter of a drive than going from Kings Island and Cedar Point which is like 3 hours and 40 minutes.

We have done the Missouri "triangle" of flying into St. Louis for Six Flags, driving over to Branson for SDC, up to Kansas City for Worlds of Fun and then back to St. Louis to fly home.

Private companies > Publicly-traded companies.

Is more accurate.

Looks like they are not done with announcements just yet!

If that is true, then it would be nice if one of said announcements is that of a new drive-yourself car ride (a-la Antique cars).

Correct me if I am mistaken, but has anyone ever noticed that throughout SDC’s history, they have never had such a ride?

You might want to be cautious!  Saying anything negative about Six Flags may cause you to be canceled from media day events.
