Michigan's Adventure

Featured Replies

Well after many years of pushing back, and cancelling a trip to Michigan our family finally made it. We left the great state of Ohio for Michigan to swim, explore the lakes, and ride a few coasters. We stayed in Holland since MA was not our main objective and the hours at the park made it be an easy few hours.  We arrived at Michigan's Adventure at 0955. The parking lot attendant did not allow us to enter the parking lot until 10am.  We then walked to the entrance where they were not prepared to scan guests in until 1005. A little odd, but whatever.

Rides

We rode all the roller coasters, and enjoyed them for what they were. Shivering Timbers and Thunderhawk are the best ones there. We also rode the ferris wheel which they encouraged us to take pictures and videos.

Food was absolute terrible ate the pizza place and wildcat grill.

Atmosphere was pleasant, and the people were nice.

Overall it was fun beautiful park,  we could just tell it did not get much attention from Cedar Fair. It was well kept, but did not have the sense of urgency that KI or CP have to get things done. The guests were happy with what they had, and no one was wondering what the next big thing was going to be.  Being a coaster rider, I would not want it to be my home park. It ranks dead last in the 6 Cedar Fair parks I have visited.

It's nice that the atmosphere of the park is maintained well at least. I am curious as to how Shivering Timbers would rank for me compared to others woodies I have ridden like Mystic Timbers and Voyage. The park is a bit too out of the way for me personally to want to plan a trip there, but I can try to find time to go at some point.

I thought Shivering Timbers was running really hard.  Got more jackhammering on a big portion of the layout.  It was better when I rode it back in 2017.  It needs a significant amount of track replaced.

The park overall though was pleasant and well run otherwise for what it is.
