I have so many things I could say about Chad. They aren't great things. The first thing I can say at this moment, speaking of Tweets...has anyone noticed how adolescent tweets have become in writing style and content? See the tweets below. Randomly placed hyphens and "don't say what I don't want you to say." Is a 12 year old running the Twitter? Nope..just Chad.

Heck...now a lot of the tweets lack substance.

Unfortunately, Kings Island has someone who would rather copy an idea than create original content. While I understand it may be hard when you don't know how to do your job, to basically copy a fan site's homework and then attempt to pass it off as your own, it's quite sad for a corporate entity such as Cedar Fair.

If you think Dollywood taking over Charlotte ad space is bad, there's a billboard on I-95N between the Ashland and KD exit that's got DarKoaster plastered on it.  The Williamsburg hotel I was at only had BGW pamphlets.   I stayed just a tad further with my family back in 2003 and I remember seeing both KD and BGW pamphlets. 

Here is the ad I get on my phone with a local IP lol.  An ad for Carowinds showing Grand Carnivale (that ended 3 days ago) with the tag "go global, not broke".  I don't think that is the right marketing line lol

That picture is from Kings Island.  That’s a leg from the Eiffel Tower on the right.

It might be Kings Dominion, you'd see Orion from that angle with WindSeeker there. 

It’s 100% Kings Island. To be fair, they did all of the marketing photo shoots at KI.

I had a friend that asked me about this: they got a Facebook ad for the BAF promotion and an email blast advertising a different price. This is all in the Cincy market. Has anyone else seen this? 

Yep it is KI as that is our actors and WindSeeker wouldn't be seen in KD pictures from that angle (it would be to the right and blocked by all the trees of KD lol).

And yes I have friends seeing different BAF prices as well.

2 different promo emails were sent.  Daily tickets for $39.99.  BAF are $29.99.  Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason which promo email people received.  Doesn't matter, no special link or code is needed; both currently available on their site.

 

Don't look now, but there is the return of two coolers capable of providing fruit...maybe tomorrow the return of infused water

So the infused water is back with different water towers. The lemons are inside a metal bar that has the ice water.

Here is the benefits I get with my platinum pass with Seaworld / Busch Gardens. I paid $443.71 Which cost wise is about the same as Prestige Pass with the all park add on.

Some of the details of the perks aren’t shown. The free parking is preferred parking (subject to availability.) 

As you can tell you get hosed by CF. I wonder how KD’s prestige sales are doing being so close to BGW.

Not surprising how many on other social media sites are saying/bragging LOL that they bought the Prestige Pass for next year.  I know in the several times I walked passed it this weekend there were a lot more people in there other than the normal folks I would typically see in there.

And when they sell a lot of the Prestige passes, there isn't a lot of incentive for the park/chain to want to make any improvements. 

It would be interesting to see how many people that have slammed Prestige on social media and in the survey this year still went ahead and renewed Prestige.  I suspect it is still a high number.

I’m assuming they got a lot of new prestige pass holders that were previously platinum pass holders. Maybe people are seeing the cuts the park has been making, and are now supporting the park any way the can to can reverse those cuts.

Perhaps they are using their BAF, which I think includes VIP access. 

Online sentiment isn’t a perfect indicator, but I’ve seen a lot of people just doing one person in their family as Prestige for the parking, which I would agree makes sense. 

Aside from the bait-and-switch stuff that has been discussed at length, I’m wondering where people see the value in it. We would eat in the VIP Lounge often, but that was more of a, “we paid for it, might as well use it” thing. The line skips were nice, but after about the first month, we stopped even getting them. We often gave them away. Online people are hiding them and telling people to find them. It was tempting at first, but I bet a lot of the Prestige-type people are more like me than they are the typical guest - I don’t ride all that often anymore. KI is more like a meeting place for me and my friends. The Preferred Parking is the top spot for me, but could I justify $200 more for that? All of the other perks were just cannon fodder to me.

A $50, $100 add on? Sure. A $200 add on? Eh. 

Now, I know people that are buying it for their own reasons. The reasons are good. One works close to the park, often goes over on his lunch, eats, and goes back to work. That makes sense. But are there thousands of those people out there like that? Time will tell.

Your approach is simpler though - just hand them your credit card and tell them to take what is fair
