How much longer for Congo Falls?

Featured Replies

Who knows if that's actually true. They could be just getting a new one. On the other hand, it does make sense to get rid of it. Congo Falls is one of three water rides at KI, so they don't really need it for that purpose. It's also down a lot of the time, so it's not very operational friendly. And on top of that, I don't ever see a really long line for it, so I would assume that it's not the most popular ride among guests. I just hope that if they remove Congo Falls, they also remove Invertigo. Let's face it: Invertigo is rough, and not too many people actually come off saying, "let's ride again!". Taking out these two and replacing them would give KI a lot of room for a future attraction. You could have the ride sit right next to the parking lot and entrance and it  would look pretty good for guests waking up to the park and getting excited.

I don't see why there would be any need to remove Congo Falls? People like to ride it and gets people wet like it's supposed to do. It's also been there since I was a kid; I'm 37 years old now. You gu

  • no seat belt on Congo falls. I always ride next to my youngest kid so I can make sure they stay seated down thru the experience   Yes I realize everything is perfectly safe, but it makes me feel

If I remember correctly, the canvas "Congo" portion of the sign is removed each winter, similar to the removal of queue sunshades and famous Timberwolf curtains.

If they remove it we will be looking at an empty spot for next 3-5 years.  Unless this is where the new 2026 family attraction will be located.  I know most speculation is The Vortex spot.

Yep, I clicked on a few other rides and no pages are missing. Maybe this is a sign its end is near.  🤔

I've been thinking and I'll say a ride like Rip Roarin Falls at Carowinds would fit well in the Congo Falls/Timberwolf plot. Give it a dark forest/wolf theme to go with a spooky/dark forest retheme of Action Zone.

When they post a sign at the entrance that it will not operate today, that usually means it is down for a bit..could it be two days or months....

Nothing is confirmed yet, but if this does end up being the end for Congo Falls... I don't think it's being removed for a future attraction. It's incredibly weird timing to be closing this ride right at the start of summer instead of Labor Day weekend. That only signals to me that it's removal is due to high maintenance costs and the plot will sit vacant for a while. Just like a certain "other" plot that has been sitting vacant for 6 years...

I have a feeling that low quality flags will keep Congo Falls for a while since they're making so many cut backs. They seem to be fine with older rides and not fixing them like they should.

Honeslty I can't recall the last time I actually rode Congo Falls..., I remember it was a favorite ride of mine when I was a kid; riding it and then standing on the bridge getting drenched in water but as the years went on I just went to Rivertown to ride WWC once a visit and call it a day. 😅
