Red versus blue

Featured Replies

I like sitting on a middle seat closer to the front on Blue Racer. I do, however, have a friend who likes sitting in the very back of Red Racer, and he seems to enjoy it. I could not tolerate that! LOL!

Which app is this?

Double post, but I think there is an app called Ride Forces which also has an app for smart watches. This allows you to track the g-forces and the speed of a ride with your phone or watch.

I choose blue. However, for the life of me, I can't understand why ours is so different than Racer 75. That ride is as smooth as butter. Irish or Belgian butter at that, not cheap PSSSST! butter from Kroger.

I've ridden Blue more than Red this year, but I feel like my experience on that side has been way rougher than the other.

Raving coasters are my favorite   But Racing coasters are so rare and ones that actually closely race are even more race

The racing  aspect at KI is really bad this year.  Until recently my visit last week, red reached the lift hill first.   Reds lift is faster than blue.  Then the new turn around is much faster than the other side.  The trains aren’t interacting much this year.

I hear Kings Dominion put a computerized lift hill on their Racer to make them actually race this year.  I am looking forwArd to that if true.  Before this year it had the same pre-lift hill, varying chain lift issue as Kings Island.

Racer 75 is a better version oh Kings Islands anyway as it doesn’t split after the third hill, has an excellent floater hill for the third Jill, has the hill that KI removed and a real tunnel as the finale.

Going along with Six Flags poor operations, American Eagle did not race last year on purpose   The ops were instructed to stagger the trains

Lightning Racer at Hershey was designed to race perfectly but sometimes the age of the track affects one side more than the other

The past couple weeks my experience has been that while Red is still always ahead by the top of the lift, Blue has caught up to either win or come very close by the return stretch.

Yes it was ride forces for Apple Watch. I just usually find a good spots to grab onto and try to keep you wrist steady. Here are my results from Banshee. C8B99540-9C0E-4AF3-B212-F0EE124D612E.png

I tried it out that app.  Here's what it gave me.  I did note in the app what seat I rode in so take that for what it's worth.  Also done on an IPhone X (secured in cargo pocket.)

Edit.  I guess I see why I gray out on Invertigo now.

While we are on this topic, I was just curious, What is everyone’s opinion of Gemini at Cedar Point, red or blue.

Gemini is a terrible ride. It's got really really rough. So has many of the 40+ year old Arrows. I love Magnum and I say leave that one alone but most other Arrows are not aging so well and yes I know before someone points it out Magnum is only 30.  I love what Arrow did for the industry and they build them as they say "Built Ford Tough" but many of the older ones have seen their better days.

I love Gemini when it’s dueling, especially since the trains are close enough that you can high five rides on the other train! I like its dueling aspect better than Racer’s.

Yes, the ride is jerky but it’s not the worst. I consider Gemini one of my favorite non-inverting Arrows.

They retracked blue this past year and it is WONDERFUL!!!   So really hoping they would do the same to red over this 2019 winter.

Of course Blue does not open till noon and why?   They just retracked it so open it early and red late.....

Yeah, the Blue Re-tracking really helped with the roughness. And I agree with @mikejenkins1 that the should do the Red side as well. If they can get the rest of both Racers re-tracked, maybe we could see a new coat of paint and the return of the original paint scheme.
